Hey Ben_ again, I figured out the number puzzle you were struggling with. For the number puzzle think of 22 as 2 and 2. 2x2 =4. This is how we turn 22 into 4. So if we use this logic and know the answer is 9, 9 =3x3 so the room must be 33.
I actually thought about that one death scene from Resident Evil Village when I saw how Ao Oni kills the player in this game. You know, THAT one from THAT enemy .
@@Gizeh59 I mean hireups could have said that when he was showing the finished product or during development because typically hire-ups need to approve of a game so there isn't anything illegal in it.
@@LeLennoshe But since the rooms aren't randomly generated and the answer is always 33, that means that is the logic behind the puzzle. So whatever number is given has to be the multiplication of the same number with each other. So if it was 25, the answer would be Room 55.
@@allechcortes9097 It did. The example is exactly how the logic describes it. If the number is 4 then the Room is 22. 2x2=4. It didn't use 4x1 or 1x4, it used 2x2 to get 22.

The red clue numbers painted on the walls in 2-6 reminded me a lot of 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors. 1) really good game to cover for a future video, Ben, along with the rest of the Zero Escape games. 2) I would LOVE one for of these 3D first person indie horror games to take inspiration from that, chasers and such downplayed in favor of making the puzzles into full on escape rooms with multiple layers of complex puzzles.
i think the room number puzzle had something to do with perfect squares, so for example, if the clue on the wall was 4, you would find the square root, 2, and then add a second 2, making 22 for the room with the 9 on the wall, the square root of 9 is 3, add another 3, and you get 33
Honestly, we actually really need a proper 3D Ao Oni. Imagine if it had a big mansion full of very unique and recognizable rooms like the original Resident Evil. Honestly, I think that alone would make the game good even if the puzzles and gameplay themselves were bad.
The formula takes the two digits of the room number and multiplies them together. Room 01 gives you 0x1 = 0. The "clue" here is the number to the right. As for the clue 9. There are only three possible rooms in this scenario as we don't have fractions. Room 33, Room 91, and Room 19. All those combinations give you the clue 9. I suspect only Room 33 actually exists in the level, but I will never check. If you look at the example, the clue is 4 and it's Room 22. 2x2 = 4.
idk if ppl tell you this often but the groups you have with you during these ao oni videos always have great banter, you guys have very entertaining commentary during the games and it's fun to have along the breakdown of the game :D

@9:40 For the number 9, it's room 33 because the clue on the floor is saying to multiply, so you'd have to find the two numbers that make 9, which would be 3 and 3. At least, that's my best guess
I legitimately thought that at the sponsor segment 1:19 Ben was going to say “I would like to thank todays sponsor gamer sups” I was not expecting world of warships 😂

To also mention this piece of news to the original ao oni is getting ported on steam to with 2 new features a speed run mode and a new story called ai's story center around a girl who woke up in the oni house without a clue how she ended up there But so far thats about it for new features and i figured to let you know on it to
9:41 my best guess about how the puzzle works is the reason that 4 would equal 22 one of the most common ways to arrive at 4 is to either multiply or add 2+2, so putting 2 twos together nets you 22 I have no idea if this makes remote sense in the context of the puzzle, but that is my theory
With the derivate clue, it was referring to what numbers you can multiply together to get the number it shown before putting the two derived numbers together. For example: 4's derivations are 1 x 4, 2 x 2, and 4x1. As for the 9, the only derivations are 1 x 9, 3 x 3, and 9 x 1 so the answers for it are 19, 33, or 91 And what it meant by the formal 0 x 1 = 0, is any of the answers containing 1 was wrong or 0 leaving your only answe 33
Soooooo, apparently Ao Oni is coming to the Nintendo Switch and to Steam on July 26th... ...With new content too? Hopefully we'll get a video for that! Even if it's a shorter one.
Soeaking of Ao Oni... looks like the original game is getting an official remake now. I just checked on Steam, and the Switch Eshop. It's there, simply titled AoOni. Like it's one word. Oddly enough though, it actually looks pretty damn faithful to the original. It's scheduled for release on 7/26. This week. Can't say I saw that coming. From what I can tell, it might be made by Litmus. The same folks that created the mobile sequels. It's definitely a step up from their previous work, I'd say. Judging from first impressions!
9:38 well 0 x 1 (separate 01 into 0 and 1) = 0, 2 x 2 (separate 22 into 2 and 2) = 4, and 3 x 3 (separate 33 into 3 and 3) = 9, so the clue may refer to the product of the next room number’s digits.
was the solution of that you couldnt figure out have to do with square roots? 9 is 3x3, 4 is 2x2 aka 22 and 33? so it was just find the square of the number and smush the digits together?
I know I’m late but I believe that the one puzzle you are confused on is you have to find the number hidden and then figure out what numbers can be multiplied to make the hidden number and the room number is whatever numbers are used=the room number
9:40 oh!! i think i get the puzzle!! it gives you "22" and "4" first. then you have "9'. with the first two numbers, 2 times 2 = 4, as well as 4 dvivied by 2. what you want to do is find something that works the same with 9 and its product. that being 3!! so 3*3=9, & 9/3=9, hence the answer being 33 as you have two 3s!!
in the time between your last video and this one i played ghost trick, and the fucking countdown music playing when the oni punted the barrel got me good
awnser too 19:32 its like 2 x 2 is 4 and 3 x 3 is 9 yaknow?? it's like the number of the room times each other. so if theres "8" on the wall the room is 24 !!
I've been on an Ao Oni kick since Siivagunner began posting a few amusing rips for October lol, so I began watching this; fascinating that the series is now just kinda devolving into shovelware trash since it's original debut: from mobile game junk to 'baby's first Unity game', lol.
I think i know the answer on 9:35, in the room 01 when you turn the lights off it shows 9 and what you're supposed to do is think of the numbers that makes nine. for example 3 x 3 = 9 so 33 is the answer
I think Ao Oni is just some hidden omnipotent being that is forcing these people to make the image of him alive even after these years.(/j if ya couldn't tell)
Pretty sure there was a 3d Ao Oni game called Kuro Oni way back. Altough looking back at it now, it seems like Kuro Oni was just an Ao Oni game which also had a 3d version.
The only possible answer I could think of for the pattern to room 9 and room 4 is that 9 can be split into 3•3, 4 into 2•2. Break them down based on what they multiply from and combine the numbers into a double digit.
All I got for the puzzle is that the square root of 4 is 2*2 and getting rid of * would make it 22 same with 9 being 3*3 becoming 33 after removing the *
for the math clue: i think the general idea is to use the square roots. according to the hint given to you by the game, the room number is 22 and the clue is 4. the square root of 4 is 2, and by having the room be 22, they were showing you how to place the numbers to find the room, using the square root to define the room number. i’m pretty sure the use of the word “formula” is some kind of translation error, as it’s less of a formula and more of a kind of cipher to help you determine how to solve the puzzle. i think a better way to explain this is by giving another example. let’s say the clue given to you was 25. the square root of 25 is 5, so the number for the room in this case would be 55. or if the clue given to you was 36, the square root is 6 so the room number is 66 (or 6 by 6.) idk if this made sense, i think it’s one of those things where you can figure out what the creator meant after you’ve been given the answer lol
I believe for the 2.6 puzzle, writing it out the tip and the equation that was provided and finding the differences is what was intended, like so: 0 * 1 = 1 22 4 To: 0 * 1 = 1 2 * 2 = 4 So with 9 they intended for: ? * ? = 9 ?? 9 While I'm unsure of the available room numbers in the roster, the problem with this puzzle is the room numbers "19", "33", and "91" are all plausible solutions if they all exist. By proxy if you weren't explicitly told that 22 corresponds to 4, then you could infer that 4 corresponds to rooms "41" and "14" as well. I think if the first equation was set up as 1 * 1 = 1 and you were in room 11, it'd reinforce the pattern a bit better.
The room you didn't get was because the answer was the square root in both cases 2*2=4 3*3=9 As soon as I saw 9 that was my guess (33) after seeing that 4 was 22 But the equation they gave 0*1=0 is such a horrible clue, it should have been 1*1=1, or something like 4*4=16. The 0*1=0 clue genuinely made me doubt the answer was 33 after seeing 9 until you confirmed it lul
This is like the actual first Ao oni thing I've seen that "feels" original that I've never seen before (As someone who's attempted to get into the manga and seen the awful, awful movies) Fantastic vid!
For the room puzzle its supposed to be the square root, the example said there was right since 2x2=4 and 9=3x3 soo if it said like 8 it would be 64 since 8x8=64
also about the 33 puzzle the game said that if the hint says 4, then the room is 22, according to the formula the room 01 is 0, since 0*1=0, like said on the floor the hint says 9, so the room is 33, since 3*3=9

i think the room number puzzle had something to do with perfect squares,
so for example, if the clue on the wall was 4, you would find the square root, 2, and then add a second 2, making 22
for the room with the 9 on the wall, the square root of 9 is 3, add another 3, and you get 33
Honestly, we actually really need a proper 3D Ao Oni.
If you look at the example, the clue is 4 and it's Room 22. 2x2 = 4.
I love it when my favorite Ao Oni youtuber posts
idk if ppl tell you this often but the groups you have with you during these ao oni videos always have great banter, you guys have very entertaining commentary during the games and it's fun to have along the breakdown of the game :D
Love the upload frequency.
Ben, you'll probably not see this but I want to thank you for your content, I love making stuff but I hate the silence so I turn on background noise, and your content is the only thing I can actually watch without instantly turning off while working on a project, so thank you :]
for the numbered rooms puzzle, it’s really quite simple as far as I can tell. 4 turned into 22 because 2x2 = 4. same with 9 becoming 33: 3x3 = 9
the fact that a game on roblox called pillar chase did better then what most of these newer ao oni games does is actually crazy
That’s totally how you pick up a mattress.. 8:25
The death screen reminds me of that video of the baby eating the camera
love your videos ^^
9:42 the puzzle may the that the room number is the numbers you multiple with each other to get that number, like 2x2=4 and 3x3=9. idk tho
@9:40 For the number 9, it's room 33 because the clue on the floor is saying to multiply, so you'd have to find the two numbers that make 9, which would be 3 and 3. At least, that's my best guess
I legitimately thought that at the sponsor segment 1:19 Ben was going to say “I would like to thank todays sponsor gamer sups” I was not expecting world of warships 😂
oh, i feel so blessed... to be sitting here wirth my cat and ao oni. shoutout fr for making this happen. i love ao oni. 3d ao oni is awesome.... i want to rip the model & play with it now...... thank you, ben, you have blessed me once again with the ao oni
To also mention this piece of news to the original ao oni is getting ported on steam to with 2 new features a speed run mode and a new story called ai's story center around a girl who woke up in the oni house without a clue how she ended up there
But so far thats about it for new features and i figured to let you know on it to
9:41 my best guess about how the puzzle works is the reason that 4 would equal 22
one of the most common ways to arrive at 4 is to either multiply or add 2+2, so putting 2 twos together nets you 22
I have no idea if this makes remote sense in the context of the puzzle, but that is my theory
With the derivate clue, it was referring to what numbers you can multiply together to get the number it shown before putting the two derived numbers together.
For example: 4's derivations are 1 x 4, 2 x 2, and 4x1. As for the 9, the only derivations are 1 x 9, 3 x 3, and 9 x 1 so the answers for it are 19, 33, or 91
And what it meant by the formal 0 x 1 = 0, is any of the answers containing 1 was wrong or 0 leaving your only answe 33
My goat 🤝
Haha, thank you!
Thanks for another fun video Ben. You and your friends make these vids awesome. So thank you for being you guys :D
Ao oni really said: "I am the legendary ao oni, ao oni" and then ao oni'd all over the place
9:32 it is the first number multiplied by the second
9:38 well 0 x 1 (separate 01 into 0 and 1) = 0, 2 x 2 (separate 22 into 2 and 2) = 4, and 3 x 3 (separate 33 into 3 and 3) = 9, so the clue may refer to the product of the next room number’s digits.
was the solution of that you couldnt figure out have to do with square roots?
9 is 3x3, 4 is 2x2 aka 22 and 33? so it was just find the square of the number and smush the digits together?
no prison bar scene :(
ai oni remastered coming out on the 26th releasing on steam and switch.
I know I’m late but I believe that the one puzzle you are confused on is you have to find the number hidden and then figure out what numbers can be multiplied to make the hidden number and the room number is whatever numbers are used=the room number
9:40 oh!! i think i get the puzzle!! it gives you "22" and "4" first. then you have "9'. with the first two numbers, 2 times 2 = 4, as well as 4 dvivied by 2. what you want to do is find something that works the same with 9 and its product. that being 3!! so 3*3=9, & 9/3=9, hence the answer being 33 as you have two 3s!!
in the time between your last video and this one i played ghost trick, and the fucking countdown music playing when the oni punted the barrel got me good
awnser too 19:32 its like 2 x 2 is 4 and 3 x 3 is 9 yaknow?? it's like the number of the room times each other. so if theres "8" on the wall the room is 24 !!
as soon as I saw people play this game , I knew I'd see you make a video on it.
I've been traumatised by that face yet again. something about it is so unnerving
Ok so from now on you will be officially known as the "Ao Oni Guy" from my subscription feed
ah so he's the kool-aid man now! XD What an improvement!
I've been on an Ao Oni kick since Siivagunner began posting a few amusing rips for October lol, so I began watching this; fascinating that the series is now just kinda devolving into shovelware trash since it's original debut: from mobile game junk to 'baby's first Unity game', lol.
Kinda funny moments
6:26 it just apeared there
6:52 goofy

I think i know the answer on 9:35, in the room 01 when you turn the lights off it shows 9 and what you're supposed to do is think of the numbers that makes nine. for example 3 x 3 = 9 so 33 is the answer
Wait we already have 3D Ao oni..
PILLAR CHASE 2-
Love the videos :) can't wait to see more
....that death is someone's vore JO video, and on that point alone, it deeply disturbs me.
Maybe its just me but I was expecting the sister to be the oni from the very 1st chapter
The only possible answer I could think of for the pattern to room 9 and room 4 is that 9 can be split into 3•3, 4 into 2•2. Break them down based on what they multiply from and combine the numbers into a double digit.
9:22 You multiply the digits together.
I remember playing this back in like 2013-2015 after a friend told me about it. Really surreal to see it reconstructed in a 3-D environment.
Have you heard of Kagame Oni? It's a very cool fangame made as a sequal to the original Ao Oni. You should play it
All I got for the puzzle is that the square root of 4 is 2*2 and getting rid of * would make it 22 same with 9 being 3*3 becoming 33 after removing the *
i don't think i could beat this, i can't read a regular clock for shit
for the math clue: i think the general idea is to use the square roots. according to the hint given to you by the game, the room number is 22 and the clue is 4. the square root of 4 is 2, and by having the room be 22, they were showing you how to place the numbers to find the room, using the square root to define the room number. i’m pretty sure the use of the word “formula” is some kind of translation error, as it’s less of a formula and more of a kind of cipher to help you determine how to solve the puzzle.
i think a better way to explain this is by giving another example. let’s say the clue given to you was 25. the square root of 25 is 5, so the number for the room in this case would be 55. or if the clue given to you was 36, the square root is 6 so the room number is 66 (or 6 by 6.)
idk if this made sense, i think it’s one of those things where you can figure out what the creator meant after you’ve been given the answer lol
YESSS I was hoping u guys would check it out :D
I believe for the 2.6 puzzle, writing it out the tip and the equation that was provided and finding the differences is what was intended, like so:
0 * 1 = 1
22 4
To:
0 * 1 = 1
2 * 2 = 4
So with 9 they intended for:
? * ? = 9
?? 9
While I'm unsure of the available room numbers in the roster, the problem with this puzzle is the room numbers "19", "33", and "91" are all plausible solutions if they all exist. By proxy if you weren't explicitly told that 22 corresponds to 4, then you could infer that 4 corresponds to rooms "41" and "14" as well. I think if the first equation was set up as 1 * 1 = 1 and you were in room 11, it'd reinforce the pattern a bit better.
ur ao oni videos are always peak even if the games themselves sometimes aren't
The room you didn't get was because the answer was the square root in both cases
2*2=4
3*3=9
As soon as I saw 9 that was my guess (33) after seeing that 4 was 22
But the equation they gave 0*1=0 is such a horrible clue, it should have been 1*1=1, or something like 4*4=16. The 0*1=0 clue genuinely made me doubt the answer was 33 after seeing 9 until you confirmed it lul
This is like the actual first Ao oni thing I've seen that "feels" original that I've never seen before
(As someone who's attempted to get into the manga and seen the awful, awful movies)
Fantastic vid!
For the room puzzle its supposed to be the square root, the example said there was right since 2x2=4 and 9=3x3 soo if it said like 8 it would be 64 since 8x8=64
mod where you blow up the oni and it vaporizes like the ash baby when
also about the 33 puzzle
the game said that if the hint says 4, then the room is 22, according to the formula
the room 01 is 0, since 0*1=0, like said on the floor
the hint says 9, so the room is 33, since 3*3=9
