- King Aerys i Targaryen died without out any children of his own and over his 12 year rule he would have many heir. But these Prince and Princess Of Dragonstone often met tragic and untimely ends. Rhaegal, Aelor, Aelora and finally after the deaths of the prior, Prince Maekar Targaryen was named as heir to his brothers throne. He was a strong heir and the future of House Targaryen seemed succure in his line, with the new prince of dragonstone having many heirs of his own. It would surely take a series of very unlikely events for another secession crisis to happen so soon.

Really curious about Prince Rhaegel and his children. This line of the Targaryen house isn't that well known. Their run in with the Rat, Hawk, and Pig group is the first time and not the last iirc as King Aegon V son, Prince Daeron, died defeating them in a rebellion.
Most likely died at Summer Hall, all the Targs were gathered
I can never figure which the true forgotten king is between Aerys I and Jaehaerys II.

There's an awesome fanart by Oznerol-1516 that I think summarizes this period perfectly, it's named "The King's Mummer".
Everybody should check it out, it amazes me how perceptive and on point artists can be with George's rather meagre descriptions of this part of the lore.
People say Aerys rediscovered the Prince That Was Promised prophecy, that may be true, but I suspect Bloodraven of using these esoteric, meaningless books to mezmerize the King.

Man, all these lesser known Targaryens, and the houses some of their daughter's married into that now have Valyrian Blood...
