- Welcome to What's on the shelf Wednesday! This series will be about reviewing whiskeys that are AVAILABLE and ON THE SHELF! It's back!!! Today I try Bernheim 7 Year old wheat whiskey from Heaven Hill for the first time and put it up against Woodford Reserve wheat whiskey to see which of these unique whiskeys is worth the 30 dollar price tag!

The B-roll is awsome! Great quality in the videos! Keep up the good work!
Thanks Marshall
You called it a wheated bourbon silly!. Love that juice
Love the shirt!!! Your reviews are always great!!!! Honest, informative and trustworthy!! Thank you!
Jason:
I very much like that you take multiple sips and describe each in detail. Bernheim Wheat Whiskey has been on my radar for a long time. This review has urged me to pull the trigger.
SLÁINTE and Stay well
Mike
I was so hopeful for the Bernheim wheat. I was sadly disappointed though. My first few tries I feel are overly Oaked. Not the sweet bourbon finish of oak, but overly tannic and overwhelms the wheat flavors. I’m hoping it mellows with some headspace in the bottle.
Excellent review. That shirt is money 👌🏾🤜🏾🤛🏾
Happened to buy a bottle yesterday for under 30 bucks here in Virginia. Glad the review was positive 😂.
can you do a video with a food scientist to explain how it's possible that bourbon can taste like apricots? I know it's something to do with esters, but it would be good to hear from an expert what that means and how it actually works.
Thanks
Good review. I am a Woodford fan. I would love to hear about Barrell Bourbon 2020 Limited Edition.
I like it. Great in a old fashioned
Just had my first pour of Berhneim and I totally agree with your review. It’s solid for a wheater. It’s light as you stated but easy drinking!!
For me Bernheim is too light and soft, it disappears on the tongue quickly. I appreciate the age statement and price and I think it is a good whiskey for those who want a "smooth" sipper and aren't fans of bite or high proof. If they release a cask strength I'd love to see the difference in flavor. Woodford for sure benefits by having rye in the mashbill, haven't seen it in stores around me yet unfortunately.
Good review i have the woodford wheat which i like and had wondered how this compares. Watching this pretty much answered that. Thanks.
Bernheim, Small Batch is my choice for sippin' .....now that WL Weller 107 Antique has become hard to find.
I was not a huge fan of the Bernheim, but got it for like $24 on sale...I would love to see a Johnny Drum review since it’s an all Willett product now; every other review I have seen is when it was sourced.
I work as salesman for this bourbon at Asian country, thanks alot for your master class ;)
Had some NCF Bernheim store picks from Lincoln Road that were great.
Thanks for the great review J! The Bernheim is $60 CAD here, so it’s a pass for me at that price. Haven’t seen the Woodford wheated here yet, but hoping it makes its way to 🇨🇦 soon!
Love the video man! You makes us want to review those products!
Haven’t had Bernheim but I like the Woodford for sure
Love how you take all the different angles of the bottle when taking the video. I feel like I’m watching a photo shoot of say a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit. I do like the Bernheim and it is nice , soft and sweet. Alright , next time I’m gonna have to grab that Woodford Wheat. On another note I was wondering if you have the Wyoming Whiskey Steamboat 5 Year? I just picked one up yesterday. Anyways love your reviews.
Woodford Wheat is a great whiskey
Oh man ! US is going thru a DIAMOND renaissance of bourbon (of sort) ! . . . SO MANY distilleries are moving towards HIGHER alcohol and barrel proof, higher AGE stated, huge RYE and WHEAT bourbons, ... LOVE yr vid. Came for a look into the future (Autumn) release in Canada . . . hope, hope. 2 cheers !
As usual another awesome review!!!
Have it. Drink it. Don't love it. Still better than Maker's in my opinion.
Thanks for review. This doesn't get much love.
How about a review of “Stago”?
I tried it, it tasted harsh and very hot spicey.. for a 7yr .. strange.. it was very rough edges with lots of burn that was hard to get that caramel notes. Its cheap for a reason. 30$ maybe they made changes or something since the review.. I generally get the same taste as the channel reviewer. Larceny is way way better than this.. this is a mixer or drain pour.
Do a blind with Weller 107 you’ll be shocked
I’ve heard the woodford wheat is one of their best products but haven’t seen it anywhere
Really? Thats surprising. I always see it.
The Mash and Drum I’m in SoCal and certain rare things are common and certain common things are rare
The Mash and Drum I retract I called a local shop and they are saving me one! Good Call
I’m in RI/MA and I haven’t been able to find it either. Going to take a trip up towards Boston to see if I can grab some
I'm in Las Vegas haven't seen it
Jason,
I know this particular whiskey isn’t available everywhere...but if you can I highly recommend you checking ryes from Still 630 out of St. Louis Missouri. If you can’t find anything, I’d be willing to send you a bottle.
Anyone read the Title like Tiny Chef? Okay just me...Carry on.
Thought this was boring, the juice that is
Yeah it is. Good mixer or intro to Whiskey
"Up until recently, Bernheim was the only straight whiskey distributed nationally until last year, when Woodford Reserve..."
May I draw your attention to Oregon Spirit?
Sure. But I've never seen it. Would like to try it now though.
@@TheMashandDrum I bought an airplane bottle of it from Total Wine. It reminded me of cornbread and diet soda.
Dude I Love your Channel, but you called it Wheated Bourbon several times! Just making sure you know its not a Bourbon.
Yes I know. Force of habit. Lol. Drove me nuts. Lol
