As a guy who owns one, and was previously a Glock 26 guy, my assessment of it is that someone at Kimber said” let’s take a Glock 26 and make it a little smaller, increase the capacity, increase the grip texture, improve the trigger tremendously, make it so it can support a red dot, put better sites on it, and call it the R7 Mako.” They handle the same, point the same,Mako feels a little better in the hand, but they’re very similar guns in my opinion. Also, the slide function with the mako is much much easier. This is better all around for an older person who has some visual and grip deterioration that is natural with age. And it shoots comfortable and like a much bigger pistol.
Glock 26? Actually, take a BB Techs BB6 and make it a subcompact, that's a better comparison. Seriously. Put the Mako and BB6 side by side and take them apart. I just did exactly that. What you will see will surprise you.
Of all my carry 9’s, this by far the most accurate an reliable. Over 2k rounds without a single issue. The Mako is my EDC of choice. Thanks for the video.
I love my mako - it just fits my hand and shoots for me like nothing else. Oh, and I have a muddy river holster for it that is absolutely perfect as well. Thanks for the review!
I just bought this R7 and have been to the range with a couple of different buddies now and they all shoot tighter groupings with this through the first magazine than they do with their EDC that they've fired hundreds of rounds through. It's a great gun, for the price, out of the box.
@Muddy River Tactical I love it only weight is 1 Oz I been shooting with the 32 moa circle only seen a guy on utube do it make sense at 25 yards u got 8 inch circles on we're u put it it works great all 3 ways I got the solar one u get auto brightness
The hooded ejection port is due to the locking lug being at the rear of the chamber, unlike a Browning action. It's not to protects optics. It reduces barrel tilt, muzzle flip, and increases reliability.
Thanks for the review. Did you have any issues with the spent casings hitting your support hand or thumb with you being a lefty? I am a lefty and I am considering this gun.
With the problems most people have experienced with the Mc9 I would go with Mako. With that said I have a MC9 that has been flawless, but with so many issues with the Mc9 it’s still hard to fully trust it

Yes same class of pistol for sure. In my opinion it’s 1000 times better than a Glock 26 though!

I love the 15 round mag now available. Really makes it feel like a full size gun without the size. Great review on a great pistol

Does your extended magazine hold 13? I could only fit 12.

Are you guys making holsters for it?
Yes we sure do!
How do you change the front site
Glock sight. Get at it from under the slide.
I can’t decide between this and the mc9..what do you think?
