Hey family, this has to be my most thorough video with all my current tips, if you want me to do a deep dive into any particular part, just comment below 👇🏾.
Remain blessed 💕
PS time stamps are in the description for an easier viewing experience!
It is sooooo funny how professional hair stylists tell me to DO NOT put oil / grease in my scalp..lol and how my hair needs to be trained...
Real TALK I WILL CONTINUE TO OIL AND GREASE MY SCALP..IT IS MY REALHAIR AND NOT A WIG. REALHAIR HAIR NEEDS OIL AND GREASE. THANK YOU FOR CONFIRMING THIS !
These are good tips! The only thing missing that nobody ever says is MPT. MOISTURE PROTECT and TRIM your ends. They are the oldest part of your hair and need more attention like a baby. The rest of your hair is a toddler. 😂 I heard people go over a year and never trim. I dust my ends every 2-3 months and get a “professional” cut 1-2 times a year.
Hi, thank you for a great video!! what do you think how often should one wash one's hair, I've heard so many different stories about how many times people say they wash their hair.
Research God's time/calendar in Genesis 1:14. God MAY allow “The Powers To Be “ to enforce some type of “Sabbath Law” to see if we will keep His law or no before He delivers His scattered people from the nations. How can the true Sabbath be Friday, Saturday, Sunday, etc, if we are commanded by God in Genesis 1:14 to let the lights in heaven be for days, years, etc.? Besides, the beginning of God's months start with the new moon days. The Gregorian Calendar hanging on our walls, in our houses, do not start it’s months with the new moon day as the scriptures testify. The new moon day falls anywhere and everywhere on that time/calendar....How can the beginning of the month start in the midst of a month or, how can the first day of the month also be the seventh day Sabbath? God has three category of days, the new moon day, the six work days and the Sabbath day, they never, ever, overlaps each other. Ezekiel 46:1-3, 2 Kings 4:17-23. Look at the scriptures in Genesis 7:11, Genesis 8:4,5,13,14 and tell me what and whose time/calendar is being used here? We must abandon our traditions, stop worshiping God in vain and do things God’s way. Let us not deceive ourselves, there will be no good reward for keeping man’s doctrines in the place of what God commands. We make God's Word of none effect when we cling to our traditions. Mark 7 COME OUT OF HER MY PEOPLE!

Yeah, me too🙌
On removing protective styles: Oil gets the matted hair a-loose. Squirt some oil from an applicator on the matted clump, massage it, let it sit a minute and then finger detangle. The gunk and tangles come right out.
Thank you I’m gonna try this now was wondering how I would be able to get the matts out
when i took down my box braids i just put water on it and was wondering why i was struggling so hard to get it out 😭😭i'll try this next time
I agree olive oil works really well to detangle and remove the gunk
Also Texture ID Multi- Styling Foam is great for detangling and twist or braid outs. I use instead of styling creams... a Game Changer for my 3c/4a hair, and my daughter's 4c hair!👍🏼
yes
when my hair is very entangled, I begin with an oil mask, then detangle and wash my hair.

This is the video I have been desperately seeking. I share my deepest gratitude with you for creating this well detailed and descriptive video. I was praying to God that he would send a beautiful woman on my algorithm who can break down the process of growing your hair easily, and here you are! And the fact that you used 7 pillars to explain the according steps signified completion to me, and I knew by watching this video, I’d finally found what I needed and all is well!

Hi Janet. Thanks for the tips. You forgot prayer before embarking on the journey. I found out the moment I started praying for my hair , I saw real good results.
Thanks for sharing!!
This was very helpful.
Thank you so much for helping the community. When you start to do research on hair you realize that there is TWO worlds to hair care. Historically as well. Even to this day natural hair STILL isn't included in hair school. It's hard finding which advice to listen to from all these RUclipsrs, hairdressers and just people in general. I started researching natural hair when I kept seeing all these "Magic hair growth" pills and potions 😂😕 that is really misleading. Oil is good yes but nothing without technique and the information behind it. It can actually be DAMAGING believe it or not bc oil KEEPS OUT MOISTURE AS WELL AS LOCKS IT IN. Everywhere you see racist comments and ideologies about black hair that just isn't true. Like memes about "darkskin girls trying to put their hair in ponytails" or just mindsets of black women NEEDING wigs and extra hair bc we are incapable of growing our own. Truth is natural hair has the power of length retention your hair WONT STOP GROWING when you master length retention. Truth is natural hair grows by PRODUCTS FROM NATURE, it's so very beautiful and the hate it receives does not match the people trying to MIMIC the texture. It's actually a current trend in Asia right now to attain an afro by individually tying their hair strands to make increase volume like 4b- 4c hair. Oh and curly perms was a trend back when segregation was normal. Like its not funny but it's laughable. I'm tired of information being restricted from the black community and hate being pushed. All those little girls who hate their skin and hair boils my blood. And where just now finding out that the just for me perm box girls were natural. Good for then but that is SAD bc that means that the company is telling moms and dads daughters and even sons that your hair is not able to get this shiny and beautiful without a perm......when they literally only used SILK and probably a Keratin conditioner that you wash out (which is a PROTIEN made of melanin that is found within your hair, skin and nails.) These companies cared more about money than the damage they helped cause on our community. I can't wait until I start my own channel giving nothing but facts and information and then my own brand supplying fairly priced products AND PROPER DIY recipe's. Things like rice water, aloe vera, Hibiscus, Fenugreek, all those oils like jojoba, hemp seed, Grapeseed (my favorite) and powders found in Africa and India CHEBE (please research chebe its amazing), Amla, Tulsi. Shea, Mango, Cocoa butter. These are all natural products found in AFRICA. You then realize that we were born with the tools for our hair growth and our true STEROTYPE includes LONG and thick hair not "Hot chetto girl" I want to see us all strive with skin and hair care the hate and stereotypes won't stop until we "prove" ourselves. That's why I love this generation and the rising number of helpful people. The media laughs in our face when we claim our beauty. I know this was long so thank you to anyone who has read this far! And thank you Janet for sharing basically the full guide to hair growth. I can confirm everything she says in this video is accurate and a base guild line to go by when other videos may astray from the basic steps. Love a black woman from infinity to infinity ❤❤💜💜❤

Thanks for giving such detailed information about this. My hair is in a style (braids and stuff) most of the time. Is there anyway to take care of my hair while its all done up?
Wonderful lesson and video, thank you!.
My hair is growing super fast with low porosity that even the manager of the salon was shocked to see how fast.
I I started taking brain vitamines and ketone green tea pills, I get monthly scalp treatments and deep conditioner, I get it it braided two weeks a month. I use peppermint, tea tree oil, rose oil, rosemary, olive oil, and shea butter. I also use a certain oil and moisturizer that my stylist gave me. I do mostly the book type diet which seems to be growing my hair.
Thanks for sharing 👍🏾 some of us are taking notes 📝
Loved the video great tips! Thanks
Agree 💯
Does a keratin conditioner help infuse some protein in the hair and is it safe to use at the protein once in a while?
Thank you 🙏🏾
Girl the beginning u got me 🤣🤣🤣🤣💀
I'm Caucasian, but definitely learning tips. I've added more conditioner cuz it dried out while detangling. Hadn't thought to re-wet it. My hair is curly, fine, extremely damaged, and far too long for how damaged it is, so I spend 40+ min detangling in the shower sometimes.
I appreciated your tip about not doing protein too often. I immediately looked up rice water treatment and saw most pages saying 1-2 weeks, sounds like that's a little too often.
My hair is damaged and porous from bleaching many times, lack of hair cuts for years, and lack of personal care from depression. I'm finally at a point in my life where I'm ready to manage my hair better. I'm cutting my own hair now (that's what got me enthusiastic about hair health). I'm just grateful for all the tips you took so much time to outlined.
Not going to lie, this was the first video I've ever seen you make and 10 seconds in, I almost backed out thinking it was a prank and not a real video. Lol
I wish you good luck on your journey to hair care and healthy hair in general. I'm from Ghana. Nice to meet you
@@misstinzy7164 you're so lovely. I'm from the pacific northwest of the US. Thank you for taking the time to respond.
@@pandemonicpixie good luck on your hair journey; Im happy all us curly girls can come here to get this well needed advice. Hair has no color. At the end of the day curly hair is beautiful but, high maintenance. Yours included so its good you are here. we all need to learn about our hair together sis.
also if you are going to cut your hair and want to keep some length for aesthetics why not do it incrementally; like a 1/2 in per month until all the damage ends are gone. that way your hair will stay virtually the same length and you can get rid of the bad hair.
@@lorenebonsu146 Couldnt have said it any better. I am still in the process of transitioning and because i wanted to still be able to make all the braids in the world😂....i didn't big chop and by this experience...i realised that most times when i was taking my braids out the part that shed the most was my relaxed ends because it was damaged and so one year of transitioning...my hair be looking like its been there for longer and babe I'm loving it🤗💅🙈.
The trick...don't go to the salon everytime you need a wash. Do that when you feel like you feel soo tired and want to relax your arms and take great care of your hair. Curly hair is not the enemy. Inadequate time is, and if you love something...you create time for it. Treat your hair the way you treat your face. Its truly worth it.
Nice to meet you Lorene
And @pandemonicpixie....nice to meet you.
Love it will give it a go

I'm curious about how often I need to trim the tips/end of my hair as well as, how often I need to apply a hair mask on my hair that'd require Me leaving it in a shower cap for about 30mins to 1hr.

I use to use olive oil and it made my hair like really straight and stringy. Also, can we make our own shampoo/ conditioner with honey?
I’ve had natural hair my whole life, all I’ve done since a kid is look at videos on how to grow my hair. This is my first time hearing not to over detangle and about hemutants! Great tips and details. I came from a different RUclipsr that had u in her bio. Thank both of y’all 😂🤞🏾
Yesssssss bunny appreciate it. so I’ll start with hair porosity cuz DNT know I think mines has changed due to BIRTHCONTROL😬
Adding water to my daughter's low porosity hair just makes it shrink up immediately and causes more difficulty. I just use blue magic and oil to detangle, or Rock the Locks Not So Knotty detangler
I have low porosity hair as well DEFINITELY recommend detangling conditioner before washing. Low porosity hair is like a gate lol it only lets in Humectants. So the water is just sitting on top and not actually doing its job. The conditioner I use is "Maui nourish and moisture + coconut milk conditioner." it has aloe vera infused coconut water instead of deionized water as their first ingredient, coconut milk, guava extract and mango butter which is the lightest type of butter. My hair instantly feels soft. The consistency is on the lighter side, which is good for my hair but to me hurts my pockets unless the bottle is big lol. But i was surprised when it lasted me a while. I still always like to have two products one inexpensive and one expensive (obviously not overpriced and worth the dollars)
Thank you for the information because I'm trying to grow out my dry brittle hair and do you have the discount code for the detangling conditioner you was talking about 🌹
You give me Hope Concerning Afro Hair ❤️
💕💕
Thank you so much for this video. Tis truly helpful. Please share, how do your make your hair that curly and soft?
Drink plenty of water daily, 1.5l, and do hair masks occasionally. Some do mist their hair with water or moisturising concoctions such as oil and water, (leave-in)conditioner and water, etc...
I agree that stretched hair is the best👍
Thanks so much for sharing Janet!
You’re most welcome ❤️
@@janetidavies professional hair stylists that I have been to always tell me not to put grease in my hair and scalp and as a Black woman, I feel that is the dumbest thing to tell me about my hair! Grease and oil prevents my hair from being dry and itchy. It helps maintain moisture and length. That is why I give you tube women like you props in being honest in saying and confirming that "OUR HAIR NEEDS OIL AND GREASE TO GROW"! ALSO IT IS A DIRECT INSULT TO TELL YOUR CUSTOMER THAT HER HAIR NEEDS TO BE TRAINED! MY HAIR IS NOT A PET DOG!
Great tips. I wonder if misting my scalp AND hair strands with a distilled water and essential oils mix will help my hair grow... so the essential oils only benefit on the scalp, or does it help the hair strand itself?
the essential oils won’t really do much for the strands but the water will help keep it hydrated and less prone to breakage
Paula Ragoopath, I've tried it it mixed water with Aloe Vera, and YL essential oils because FDA regulation allow 5% essential oil as 100%, although it's mixed with other elements. 😒
I am at my wits end. Will you please help me??? I have found the right products and routine to get moisture IN my hair, but I cannot keep it in. I was natural for 4 years, hair was healthy and grew...but still had a problem with keeping moisture in. I have had a relaxer for 2 years and my hair is breaking because I cannot keep moisture in. I have the exact same routine as yours, but still cannot keep the moisture in. I'm debating going back natural because at least my hair was healthy and maintained the length. But I always battle with dry hair.
I have 4C hair in the front and 4B in the back. I use Aphogee 2 Min Reconstructor monthly/as needed.
Less than a minute in and you've already gotten me to subscribe....from the Bible verse to your over all beautiful energy ...just WOW
Welcome to the family 🥰
You're very Wright, m y hair is low super dry porosity,I have to apply a steamer after my product and then keep a plastic bonnet,to sleep.can you please make a video on hydration overload.
I'd most likely use the Tangle Slayer with Light Ashe Blonde in the warm shower, yeah!
thank you so much i have thick medium 4c hair I'm try grow my hair back how it was when i was a little girl long and pretty but just at one length I'm gonna follow every step
👏🏾 we wish you all the luck you need, you got this sis 💪🏾

Hola 😊blessings 🎉Gracias ❤
Very long but informative video. Thank you. As a medical professional, I wanted to add that hair generally grows 1/2” per month. African hair is more like 1/3” per month. The problem with most of us is NOT lack of hair growth (barring any health issues). The problem is with retention of hair. Our hair grows as it should, but is breaking just as fast. African hair is more fragile with less tensile strength so it breaks more easily than other racial groups. Great tips in this video for RETENTION of hair
Okay thank you, I suppose you mean generally, cause I’m black and my hair grow super fast and in my lifeteme I cut it 3 times big chop already, and its down my waist again in less then 5 years again, so what you’re saying is generalized. I’m black with 3a hair, no not mixed, black.
Enjoy the video, my question to you would be, I have very soft cotton hai that if I sweat, we're there is no oil at the scrap but at the middle of my hair, I live we're it very hot for almost 8 months, and my hair sucks up any oil that I used, My hair is in twist or locks, so my hair want break off, Please help😊
And I didn’t know how much detangling is so important process
Thank you
Super important! Thanks for watching 💕
how often for 20min blow dryer? 😭 rn my hair needs the best that i can get! pls reply
That’s what I said to one of the ladies that worked at Sally’s, she said she went to school for it and I asked her does our hair grow everyday but she didn’t know the correct answer she didn’t know the correct answer to my question
This never used to bother me as i never really paid attention to them..but them SSK's are annoying
I hate them toooo much! Stretched styles definitely minimises them ❤️
Thanks For This Video and we got the same name😁
Hey y’all I have a question: In the moisture process does leave-in conditioner replace the “cream “ in the LOC or LCO method you use on your hair?
Yes
I'm using glysolid do you recommend it?
for high porosity hair, would you recommend alternating deep conditioning with protein treatments OR following a protein treatment with a deep conditioning treatment?
I didn’t know doing the latter was a thing. I personally alternate between a protein treatment and a moisturizing deep conditioner.
@@poppinmms8980 i've seen a few videos recommend deep conditioning after a protein treatment, but i wonder if that would undercut the protein treatment's effects.
There’s no harm in following up a protein treatment with a moisturising treatment. I caveat that with a good protein treatment should still be *somewhat* moisturising.
All that to say it’s perfectly ok to alternate between the 2 types month on month. I hope that makes sense! 💕
How do we truly know the porosity of our hair? Is there a such thing as having both high and low porosity? If so then how would we manage it? also wanted to know your thoughts on Amla oil?
Yes there's such a thing as having both porosity, it's known as medium porosity. Medium porosity hair taking care of it, you use the LCO method (LIQUID CREAM OIL). Amla oil is extremely good, I have medium porosity hair so I like to mix my amla oil with castor oil, I don't like the way my hair feels dry after applying amla oil.
When you apply hair products (creams, for instance) that just sit on top instead of getting absorbed by your hair strands, that means your hair is low porosity. The opposite means high porosity. I hope this helps 🙂
Are these the same steps for natural hair, that’s been dyed ?
Is there a certain type of natural hair shampoo that you can recommend for dyed hair?
Great q, is that dyed lighter or darker?
If lighter then your hair may be more on the HiPo side
If darker then likely on the LowPo side.
As for colour safe shampoos I am not 100% sure on brands sorry ❤️
garnier fructis has a great color safe shampoo! years ago when i had my hair black and red, it helped a lot with the color run and kept my color vibrant between touch ups.
Thanks for responding!
@@xxboujeedollfacexx thanks so much!!
Renpure is a good line too
I believe I’ve been over detangling and losing too much hair on wash day
At least you found out about your root cause issue, so 50% of it has actually been solved.
Hi Janet. I'm new to your channel. I have some straight strands in my 4C curls. What can I do to reverse them, if possible?
DOES ANYONE KNOW THE ANSWER TO MY QUESTION?
Nothing much. Sounds like this is completely natural, am I wrong?
Your hair is Lovely, are you Dominicon!👍
How often do you wash your hair? You look absolutley stunning btw🤍
Thank you hun! Every 2ish weeks 💕
Please answer my question, must I trim my ends?.
Am keeping my natural Virgin hair, i don't use relaxers, I don't use heat on my hair, I don't use chemical product on my hair, is it compulsory for me to trim my ends???.
Do I really have dead ends???.
No, you don't have to. Only if your ends start acting out 🙂
It took me 4/6 years to see it at my ribs. I shaved my head a few months ago not I miss my hair SO MUCH
Janet, for homon imbalance bcoz iam 66yrs old, what can i do next after being on collagene supplement for one month now?
I’m not too sure, but I would check in with your doctor, good luck!
Someone pls answer!!
Does taking daily nutrition vitamins help?
I don’t eat much nutritious food so I prefer personal supplement replacement but here and there I make a nice nutritious food!!
Maybe both in your case, to rip all the benefits? Only a nutritionist can effectively answer this right 🙂
What about combinations hair ? I have all 3
What about trims? How many times should you trim your hair ?
When you start struggling with it no matter what you do to your hair, when you detangle, after deep conditioning, or applying a hair mask, etc...
