In the video you said you were going to make the video easier to delete defender. Then, immediately started a full video on how YOU were using the REGEDIT process and NOT the GUI program download. You didn't even provide a DOWNLOAD link to the download. So, my question is: How is diving into the REGEDIT truly easier then using a ready made GUI program? Modifying the registry is NOT easier than using an actual GUI. Maybe things are different where you live, but screwing with the registry versus following ready made steps is defintely NOT the easy way.
Sadly, this didn't work for me. I have everything disabled as shown in the beginning of your tutorial, but the MsMpEng.exe is still running and taking up a lot of resources. When trying to "end Task" I get the access denied, as well as when I tried to go into regedt.
This is all very well, but what about some numbers. How bad is Windows Defender compared with a suggested replacement? How much memory etc does it save. It would be even handy to know how you know that the Windows Security tools don't work that well. Removing security components is all very well but you ought to point to possible replacements and show how one can be installed. There's a;ways going to be someone who decides to do what you show here and then carried on without any security!
Glad i found this article. MS really pissess me off everytime they have an update. Defender has always been an pain in the behind :) while i use an AV that is way better. Thanks a million 👍👍👍
What I'm seeing on my PC when following the steps of your tutorial is not the same as what you show in your video. 1) When you copied the registry information from GitHub, you clicked on a symbol - double paper symbol - that allowed you to copy raw contents. That symbol is not there for me. Everything else is the same, just no symbol. 2) So, I copied the registry contents by highlighting them, then pressing Ctrl C to copy. Pasted to Notepad, but when I go to Save File - naming the created folder Antivirus_d.reg - to desktop and choose Save as type All Files (*.*), I don't get six files saved to my desktop like you did, I only get one. That one file is called Antivirus_d. The others are missing. And, the name of the one file I have is not the same as yours; Antivirus_d.reg. At this point, not comfortable proceeding with the disabling. Any thoughts?
If you completely remove defender it will brick your windows updates after some time. It is better to disable defender functions with powershell commands. That way you wont brick windows updates.
Antivirus_d, Defender Anti-Phishing_d, Security Health_d, SmartScreen, Virtualization and Windows Security Center_d Are these all? What do these SmartScreen and Virtualization do? If they get disabled and if I want to enable them, how would I do it?
I have a reason why i have to murder this antivirus, because this antivirus is now currently deleting all of my important files which this antivirus kept thinking that the files it deletes contains virus, although they arent.
Not as many as you think. What was the process count before disabling? Ram usage is about the same as bit defender. Processes are about the same as bit defender also
I want to uninstall defender because it does annoying things like disable Spotify and audio files I want to use but than I have the risk. Also I can’t go to settings because the search bar and the windows button doesn’t work
This seems like a future thing for me as Win 10 support stops, as for now Defender is fine however after end of life for Win10 I believe that people will be forced to use alt virus protection. Gonna save this one for 2024 Very useful Thanks 😎😎👍👍
When the antimalware becomes the virus - ridiculous how it cripples my system - its number one in my task manager list for high usage ram, up to 40%, terrible.
I've used ZoneAlarm pro antivirus + firewall since the beginning of time. Then comes Windows 10 with its Windows Defender taking over from my ZoneAlarm pro antivirus + firewall. It no longer scans my downloads. It is as if Windows Defender has stopped ZoneAlarm!
@@Nick41622 Well Nick - others are far better. I either buy Bitdefender or Kaspersky. I never buy software online, as these are always on sale at least 5 times/year. As low as $22.00 and up to no more than $30.00. CAN. Monthly - dirt cheap
Micro$oft bought out or ripped off some great companies over the years, and it’s a decent anti-virus. Resource hog, yes, but all the ones I’ve used (mcafee, norton, kaspersky, trend, etc… both personally and in business)
Finally remove windows defender. Let me know what you guys think in comments.
I don't think it's a good idea to remove defender from windows
In my opinion W Defender is a piece of garbage. It’s leaving my system ASAP. Thanks for sharing.
