C'mon, It's like a FlatOut 2 port with new features available later in Ultimate Carnage!
I was thinking the same thing. Flatout Headon is like a little brother of Flatout 2 and big brother of Ultimate Carnage.

Burnout Dominator needs more recognition. It is missing crash mode but it brings back burnout chains, which makes the racing more fun. It also looks amazing, and the content and difficulty curve is better than Legends.

It’s amazing how you could release any of these games now basically unchanged just higher resolution, and they wouldn’t look out of place on mobile or even the Switch today.
well actually no. I like to implement texture filtering and upscaling, and antialiasing. it all makes the overall picture smoother.
but I totally agree with you on that the games still hold up gameplay-wise.
@@teacherfromthejungles6671 I dunno. I just played Outrun 2 on psp on a GPDXD with an emulator. And I think the graphics hold up. I don’t think it will wow anyone, but a casual player wouldn’t be leaving reviews like “great game, shame about the retro graphics”
I would say same for Wipeout on PSP. Upscaled it holds up well against the other futuristic hover racers on mobile.

Knew Burnout Legends was going to top this list! Ridge Racer has an insane amount of content and Motorstorm is all kinds of solid. Have you ever tried Test Drive Unlimited? Open world racer set in Hawaii....it's a pretty game!

Sega Rally’s time trial mode on psp is addictive as fuck, it really has that “one more game” feel too it.
Burnout Legends deserves that position, that game is amazing, and I sure enjoyed with My Friends. Split/Second as well as I never had the chance to play the PS3 version. Great video!
There was one mission in Burnout legends that consisted on destroying a car ina a given time. I tried lots of times without success. But one time I accidentally crashed against a corner, my car went through the air an just happened to fall over the other car destroying it. I'm still laughing at that, so great game.

I agree with this list. To be honest, I haven't tried Gripshift or Wipeout. Everything else in this video is within my experience...
NFS Carbon Own The City was good too
Ofc, great list. I would probs give a shout to Ford Racing, it was more enjoyable for me than GRIP for example.
Just for curiosity, there is a franchise on Android very similar to Grip Shift: Jet Car Stunts, it's a premium game

I suggest to start with MotorStorm. That game is insane! Not only one of the best racing games for psp but one of the best racing games ever.

Great list, by the way! Burnout games from PS2/PSP era are way, way better than what they did in Paradise...
And it's such a pity there's no more Motorstorm games anymore! I would love to check out some new version on a modern hardware.

Load times won't be an issue if you're running off memory stick (custom firmware) or emulating with PPSSPP
I'd have probably added fast and furious tokyo drift on here, it had it's flaws but the game was quite interesting.

excelent list. i know it sounds redundant but i missed burnout dominator. its the same game on the psp and ps2 with minor visual downgrades .
Was tempted to put dominator on the list instead of legends, but the overall content that legends includes compared to dominator made me go for that instead. Man I miss the burnout series... wish it would make a comeback!

My favorite games are motorstorm arctic edge and split Second velocity

How come you left out Wipeout Pulse? is Wipeout Pure but improved in every aspect, graphics, performance, gameplay...! I love it
psp games has more interesting and memorable games than ps vita
because more people played the psp than the vita one.

no juiced 2 : hot import nights ? WHAT ? that is one of the hands down best psp racing games in terms of feel, control career mode and customization + higher framerate. Also Wipeout Pulse > Wipeout Pure

SEGA RALLY is really good!!!,,,GRAN TURISMO is a bit somewhat low tier because of lack of career mode which EVERYONE and EVERYBODY wants,,,Burnout is like playing your PS2 game on a portable handheld,,,which is amazing!!!!!....and im also a RIDGE RACER FAN BOY...though RAGE RACER / RR on PS1 was my first racing game and then RIDGE RACER TYPE 4 or R4...and i think the RIDGE RACER 2 on PSP is the ultimate version of them all...im almost 90% of my save file few races to go on WORLD TOUR with the Fastest car selection...cant remember if its PRO...havent played it for a while... i also wanna try Split Second if it is really good.....your video is GREAT SIR!!!

Love that series so much and I was going to put it as number 1 😅 R4 is my favourite in the series... mainly because of the soundtrack, still listen to it to this day! I think you’ll love split/second... especially if you like ridge racer, it’s got that same arcade flavour!
@@thatvideogamesshow i remember playing Rage Racer it was REALLY HAVING A BAD HANDLING and your car is like it weights a ton as it lands on the track the camera shakes and your car shakes as well....hahaha though i really like the UPGRADE options..your car really changes in physical appearance...they fix the camera angle on R4 thank goodness i cant remember if RAGE RACER has also SUPER DRIFT... only FEW RIDGE RACER players like us remembers that some of the race tracks and soundtracks in the PSP version (ULTIMATE) came from the different PS1 titles....
The lack of career mode doesnt affect me in the slightest, especially when in the first two GT wasnt very well implemented. GT PSP was meant to be more of an arcade racing game.

The transitions happen way too fast, let us enjoy more of each gameplay, and the blur kinds hurts my heads

Ehh, Carbon was definitely the best out of all of em. Progression was really smooth. Most Wanted on the other hand.... ouch
@@Falconhawk3784I can agree on that one. Carbon Own the City is one of the best NFS racing game for PSP. I've completed the game multiple times and it's much better than Mw 510 and the latter. Underground Rivals was also good but very repetitive and grindy.

Still not sure why you would list Gran Turismo as one of the top ten racers on the psp if there is practically no game to speak of. GT is known for 2 things: multiplayer racing and an extensive single player career mode. This has neither. The game is a glorified demo disc. What the hell was Sony thinking. It was damn near as bad as the Vita version of Ridge Racer. Which was one of the most sorry excuses for a game I've ever seen, and the single reason I stopped supporting the RR series ever. They screwed the RR community over so bad with that one game that I refused to never buy another RR game ever again.

After sinking countless hours into GT1 to GT4, Gran Turismo on PSP was the world's biggest disappointment. I thought I was getting a game. Actually I just got an advertisement to buy the real game on PS3. Pathetic.
it still feels like a GT game. Handling and physics are superb.
man, Midnight Club L.A. is like 10000 times better than 3 DUB and it's actually the best racing game on the system imo
