I love the way that Jay casually says "'we had Cadillac do the styling", "we worked with Alcoa on the wheels", "Microsoft did a great job on the dash". The man is a rock star.
@Peter Evans all of these companies are fine, I use Alcoa durabrite on all my trucks and my father's company contracted with Microsoft, and Cadillac made a very similar vehicle, I think they just got the chassis.
Kids, never be like Peter Evans.
The cruelty of society is not a reason be grumpy.
@Peter Evans What crawled up your ass and died? You sound irreparably bitter you know that?
@Peter Evans The dash interface looks like a modern jetliner glass cockpit, which fits the theme of a jet car. Search for "boeing pfd" or "airbus pfd" and you'll see it's supposed to look like an 80's flight sim. I think they did a good job. See 13:32 for a goofy aviation-themed checklist. Air stairs, weight and CG (center of gravity), secure baggage...
And that Microsoft dash has been frozen on that screen for the last month and a half.
Jay Leno is the only man ever to own all the cars from GTA 5 in real life.
Yea but check out manny khosbin
One in every colour !
Does he have a tank?
@@pankajranga7611 Sorta. he has a Tank engine in a car. Gran Turismo 2 trivia.
it's what money is for. good- luck to Jay
"The last days of old technology are more reliable than the first days of new technology" - Jay Leno
Truth
Definitely not. A carbureted car goes up elevation to high or low trying to travel with a carbureted car and it starts doing all kinds of weird shit when you go up and down elevation. No thanks. If it was more reliable we would still be using it.
ALL THINGS TO ALL MEN and that applies to vehicle models as well!
@@TRX450RVlogger YOU MISSED THE OTHER PART OF THE EQUATION . WHAT CAN YOU SAY ABOUT THE FIRST DAYS OF FUEL INJECTION ?
@@TRX450RVlogger that's an incomprehensible sentence.
You know you have a truly special car when you simply ignore the McLaren F1 next to it. 😀
DIDNT EVEN NOTICE IT. 😳
Compared to the turbine cars, the f1 has much more reserved styling. Not to say it’s a boring car, it looks great, but it’s not as out there in comparison
He must have a whole team for renewing registrations...
Diesel Power ...
Not at all... he lets them lapse, then, for the purposes of the show, he installs "traders plates" on them to show them out on the street...
@@davemuckeye Also, being in California if you have registered the car as a classic, you dont have to renew it.
Mr Cannon ... then there's that too haha...
I bet to jay leno a $200 dollar ticket everyday($73k for 1 year) for no registration is like the change we find under the couch to him. He's the kind of guy who will be worth triple when he's dead because of all his investments.
i never thought about that until i saw that he has one on this car. spooy
Imagine starting a car, but you gotta do the startup procedure of a jet aircraft, and then fool your entire neighborhood into thinking a jet aircraft is actually taxiing by
Most turbine aircraft starting procedures are pretty simple.
@@LTLoudpack7100 just about getting the jet started then it is like kid's game compare to rotary engines. But the procedures regarding the engine safety do be lengthy
just trolling
Jay leno went from working at mcdonalds, doing stand up gigs, to hosting the tonight show, making 380 million, still continuing stand up, making a living on stand up not even spending his tv money. Of course hes gonna flex. This mans work ethic and whit, along with people skills, money management and love for cars has given him a wonderful life.
"Honey what's that noise?!?!?"
"Don't worry, It's just Jay Leno in a road going Boeing 747"
the sound of the chrysler turbine engine reminds me of a vacuum cleaner
Died 93 same
I thought the same
Sounded like turning on the TV and it's just static at max volume. That's what it reminded me of, lol.
Yeah, sounds like a 2016 F1 car
Nothing sucks like Electrolux!
Jay is an awesome dude. Seems really down to earth
a car god who enjoys the company of simple mortal men. lol
Dennis: so Jay what is your next project?
Jay: I'm swapping a F-16 turbine to a Prius!!!
Yes, why not? Anything would "improve" a "Pious"!! :D
My dad worked on planes and loved Cadillac. He would’ve loved this 🥲😭
Dude, that car he designed with the helicopter turbine in it is super dope. I would've thought it was some type of Cadillac/Bugatti love child until I heard Jay say he designed it. Jay is so damn ambitious.
You mean Cadillac/Konigsegg love child. The side window reminds me of the Konigsegg Regera.
Government: what's the fuel consumption like?
Chrysler: Y E S
HELL YEAH BROTHER
"It can run on everything...and it will use up everything."
They're actually pretty efficient. Similar to what a v8 or v10 will get.
@@superfluous9726 yes, their quite efficient under certain loads, but extremely wasteful while idle.
Supposedly, people who drove them back in the '60s said they got about 16mpg. No bad, considering most cars back then got 8-10mpg.
I would love to see a top speed run with this thing. So rad.
When I was a kid in Hialeah Florida, I heard one of these travel down my street, it was late at night and I wasn't allowed outside to see it but being an aircraft nut at the time, there was no mistaking the sound of a jet engine powered car going down the street. We did have a super rich family in the neighborhood so I figured it was theirs, but I never heard it again.
Next week on Jay's Garage, Jay puts a Saturn V rocket in a Fiat 500.
33 mpg; meters per gallon
He is really into alternative power plants. It's for science.
I would very much like that
I would like to see that
I wouldn't be surprised if he actually did.
Love that Jay hides every time! Always gives me a smile.
Jay is a national treasure!!! This was FASCINATING!!!!!
Oh my god it's beautiful! I wish I could take a look through his garage and just learn about everything. So much history in there.
Here’s hoping that the garage becomes a museum open to the public when Jay hangs up his hat. It would be an great legacy for automotive engineering history.
when I was a schoolboy back in 1960 or thereabouts we went on a school trip to Boxhill not far from London. As we got off the school coach in the carpark there was a Chrysler Turbine on display. We all crowded around and they asked me to put my drink on the engine whilst it was running to demonstrate that it made no ripples because it ran so smoothly. I can remember it as though it was yesterday. Fantastic.
Yeah, I saw a demo of it while in college. They balanced a quarter on the hood (bonnet) and it stayed put.
I still have the little brochure they gave out.
When I was a schoolboy I found some nudist magazines in the woods.
James Rindley Nice find lol
@@AightBro123 Right, better than the "Dead Sea Scrolls" to a "schoolboy"!! LOL :D
Sean Casey Thats a pretty awesome memory, thanks for sharing. 👍
Thank you Jay I’m 79 and I have never seen his team car run so I was quite a treat thank you very much.
The last days of old technology, are less uncertain then the first days of new technology.
Well spoken words from an unselfish genius
I work turbines for a living, would love to get into one of these.
I actually saw the Chrysler turbine car rolling around Livonia, Michigan during its testing days. Now, THAT was cool.
I gave up a chance to ride in one. Mind, I was seven or eight at the time, when the Chrysler dealer from our former congregation drove up in total silence, and offered my Dad a ride -- apparently they were lent to dealers on a lottery system for the weekends, then back to the factory to see how they were wearing. Dad took a ride in it, but I begged off (hey, seven and a guy I barely knew by sight, not going to happen). Unfortunately, Dad now has Alzheimer's and does not remember the incident at all, let alone how the drive was.
Aww, that's unfortunate
@@davidweihe6052 sorry to hear that. Hopefully someday there's a cure.
Yeah, David, I'd rather have that Chrysler one than the Eco (not echo) car! When he said it had "Vegan" seats, I almost choked on my sandwich!! LMAO!!
I grew up in the metro Detroit area in the 60’s. As a kid, I routinely saw the Chrysler turbine driving around the area. I distinctly remember the ‘whine’ associated with the turbine engine. I also remember the burnt orange color, just like on the video.
That Chrysler is amazing!
This guy needs to bring his car to the salt flats and see how fast it can go
@Erik Gilreath lol, definitely not, turbines are very loud so it sounds much more powerful than it is, getting to 300 is very very hard
@@ipodhty yeah I think Bugatti chiron is only car to do that at 304 but give it 50 years well be firing down the track!
Death trooper they aren’t wrong and there’s literally no need for your language. Lol Bugatti struggles to find tires able to handle their speeds. Even Jays turbine car blew out a window on the runway speed test. It isn’t that easy at all.
Well it's American made so...
I am not entirely confident that the car body is designed for downforce. Some edutcational youtube videos about "not enuff downforce":

I love how cars always bring back historical stories
That was great! Gotta love how non-nonchalant Jay was about everything towards the end.
Yeah, it's a little loud. Yeah, Yeah, it's kinda funny. Yeah, it's a lot of fun.
I could watch Jay’s garage all the time it’s good wholesome television and I enjoy watching the shows over and over-as long as it is a great car then again I have to say there all pretty damn special 🇺🇸
Hey! Watch the swearing...it's a family program!
What a garage, nice collection.
You have to appreciate that these are maintained and driven . Not much , but do see a road.
Now that was cool. Thank you for the late day smile plastered across my face.
That Chrysler's rear exhaust looks badass, if Batman were real that car would probably be his Sunday driver.
What makes you think Jay isn't batman?
Jay Leno is Bruce Wayne spelled backwards
Batman is real! My cousin said so!
This and other Jay videos reveals an amazing collection of special things.
Ha, ha Jay pretending to disappear when Dennis turns up never gets old.
This car is amazing. Love Jay's cars.
Me too!
Thought it was Turbine, not Turban lol !!
I thought he was saying Turbun LOL
Same, I was confused. Maybe that's how Americans pronounce it though?
....No we pronounce it turbine...
HAHAHA the Chevy Turban!
10 minutes in, they start saying turbine lol
I love the sound of the start-up sequence.
These two Cars shown here 👉"the Chrysler Turbine Car" & "the Jet Car are really the two are one of the best most amazing cars in the world😱💜 and we absolutely love the most 💗....these two beautiful amazing Cars💖 are Super Epic and they are one of a kind in their class....one of the best cars truely that shown here....Thanks Sir Dennis Gage for showing us more of Jay Leno's Superjewel Collection of one of the Coolest and Best Cars💖 in the entire world😍😘💜💙
God, I can see why people are really into cars. The fact you have a chance, even how tiny is a big part of it.
It's beautiful. Great job, Mr. Leno.
Ty
I've a lot of time for someone who actually drives his collection!👌
Excellent video!
Awesome cars!

What a beautiful car! Just amazing.
Love seeing a car buff enjoy his wealth and drive his collection
I wanna thank J for actually owning this thing and preserving it. I probably never would of knew
*I probably never would have known
Btw Jay is one of my top favorite celebrities because he has a kind heart and never has been in the tabloids for any scandals.... after a career that long you have to respect those credentials. Bless you Mr Leno and thank you and your team for posting these videos and working on the vehicles I know it took a lot of work
YESSS a rarity these days!!!!
When you first see the Jet Car that Jay fabricated, it looks like a Cadillac concept car from the 1990s or so. Jay is a funny genius!
That feeling when you have too many cars and you can't even remember where the door handle is on that particular one... 11:33
It seems unbearably ironic how shy Jay is and yet how successful he became while overcoming it. I applaud this man. He's got the experience of years all over his body language.
Johnny Carson was very shy in real life
@@diyboomboxesintexas2805 probably letterman too
excellent video, I really learned a lot from that. Thanks for making the video.
Wow, Jay Leno even looks like Jay Leno’s Jet Car.
This car is "off the chain" cool.... It's absolutely beautiful
7:46 Leno likes a alternative power plants in cars, but when it comes to his shirts ....leave it alone.
Wow nice cars really Jay Leno Love your collection 🤟😎
J thanks for sharing. Very informative.
Jay is a good guy . Wish new guys would use more of his play book
I helped build the engine in the eco jet. What a fun project.
The exterior paintwork just suits too
@d h you and me both.
I just heard CNBC canceled Jay’s show after his accident and subsequent serious burns. I didn’t realize it’s been on like 25yrs or more. I will really miss it and hope he continues his YT channel because I find it wonderful to watch
The forward thinking behind those cars design. Remembering it was 1962. Amazing.
I was outside playing in the early 1960s when one of the early Chrysler turbine cars drove by our house... It was pretty cool to a young man.
And on next week's show, Jay builds a car with a Space Shuttle motor....., and the week after, he shows us his own design Family Sedan running a replica of the Titanic's Steam motor...... Gotta love this guy, there's nobody quite as mad (in a good way) or quite as cool as Mr Leno. In fact, he's just knocked Steve McQueen into 2nd place. Look out for the episode where he chases a Hellcat through the streets of San Francisco on a Tripple Supercharged Veyron engined Harley-Davidson with 6 Turbos.....
Matthew Godwin
I agree totally. Great guy
They called it the JL-25. Designed to run on hair gel rather than pure hydrogen/oxygen, and was able to lift Jay's entire ego all the way up to LEO.
Eddie Mercury underrated comment Lol!!
Jay leno is the best i hope i get to meet jay one day hes one of my heros! His car collection is outta this world! I love turbine engines!
Thanks for sharing.. totally enjoyed your video. Eddie J. Long island NY.
The Chrysler Turbine is fascinating; thank you
We're going on a trip in Jay Leno's Rocketship... ^__^
Lol :)
Lol! That tune is so catchy!
I have 3 kids so sadly I hear that daily😂😂😂😂🤣
Its my favorite rocket ship
Amazing. Thank you.
AMAZING truly amazing.
Guess these two never watched _Batman_ back in the 60's...
"Atomic batteries to Power. Turbines to Speed."
"Roger. Ready to move out."
There’s this guy with like 100 cars, and then there’s me concerned with paying the insurance and registration on one vehicle... and saving 5-10 years for his second(literally, I ran the numbers.)... never has the “there are two kinds of people” line been more relatable.
Our world is really weird sometimes
Wow, I've ever heard of these cars. Awesome.

Logarhythmic Funktion .. exactly, same In Australia
Just as the 50s end we have a car that actually lived up to the styling of that era.
That thing would still look amazing today as a new car, what an absolute masterpiece.
Thank you Jay , many of your cars would have been scrapped if not for your great work in their survival .
Great exterior design Jay on the ECO car.
J Leno my kind of guy, always pushing the limits
Jay is the king of cars!
love the jet car and turbine cars motorcycle is the coolest thanks for your shows jay
I’m not a bike guy but that black long jet bike looked amazing 👍🏻🇬🇧
When he gets off the jet bike! Omg! Little kid standing on the corner by himself. Crazy!
This thing is so loud, that after Jay started it up, I couldn't tell my kettle was whistling at me. I thought it was the car! XD
Unreal! So cool.
Wow man he built his own rocket ship lol. However the main attraction for me is the classic turbine car. Timeless

Probably the coolest thing I’ve ever seen happen in real life
Jay's the greatest!!
Dennis: What a great rear end man.
watch 2 grown men play with vacuum cleaner cars and struggle to say the word turbine...
Yup, if you leave the 'e' off the end... you can wear in on your head! 😊
I don't see a turban anywhere!
Turban 👳🏾♂️
the chrysler turban car!?
Seem as they are speaking in the English language they should definitely be pronouncing the e on the end. TurbinE!!!
Damm!
To have a garage SO big that you can let a Gas Turbine idle inside, without worrying about the exhaust.
Haha...good for you, Jay!
That 62 Chrysler was absolutely gorgeous
Watched 20 seconds of the videos and .."click" I liked you. Never watched a video before..very sympathetic.
Imagine leaving your house to go to mc Donald’s and hear the screeching noise of hundreds of turbine cars and above the radio all you hear is a high pitched reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Imagine being in East L.A. and going to the McDonald's and all you hear are dozens of low riders' Hip Hop "music" coming out of their Cheby's sound systems!! I'll take the turbine sounds, thanks very much!!

Elon musk: electric cars are the most amazing thing that happened to cars
Jay Leno: hold my beer
Except electric is the future. Turbine is a novelty, useless in a mass-market setting.
@@AdamsBrew78 Ik it’s just a joke.
Well, Elon has gone "Back to the Future!" Hehe 130 years.
@@AdamsBrew78 Yes, it is "the future". I believe we'll have coal- and natural gas-fired power plants for a long time into the future. To provide "the National grid" to run lot's of things, including "electric, zero emission" cars!! :D LOL!!
I loved Jaguar's idea for a turbine hybrid car. You sacrifice weight but you get the best of both worlds. You get the immediate torque from the electric drive but a lightweight, powerful micro turbine to give you the range of a regular hybrid. Sadly, the turbine didn't make it past the prototype phase, the production cars used a regular old 4 banger.
Man, I wish I could hang out with these guys one day.
I love that car thank you Jay
He doesn't go to car shows, he is the car shows
