Tony Iommi & Philip Anselmo - Inversion Of The Saviours
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 3 мар 2008
- Audio only video of the little known track 'The Bastard' by Tony Iommi and Philip Anselmo. ALSO:- Just found out that Tony and Phil actually recorded 3 songs for the Iommi album!!! In the end they only used 'Time Is Mine' for the album, and I have track 2 'The Bastard'. That leaves 1 unknown track!!! To prove this just read this interview with Tony Iommi at cosmik.com/aa-june01/cosmik_co... and see for yourself. If I get my hands on the elusive track I will post it. I anyone owns it or knows info about it then let me know.
UPDATE: a fellla i know recently told me he has a magazine with an interview with philip talking about this project with tony... and it says the song title is likely to be ''inversion of the saviours'' but i am awaiting confirmation. will keep everyone posted.
UPDATE: Interview with Phil has proved the song title to be Inversion of the saviours. Philip personally names it. Видеоклипы
Iommi ougth to record an entire record with Anselmo. "time is mine" is the highlight of the "Iommi" album
Agreed. Especially because time is most certainly no longer Iommi's. As sad as it is, he's probably not gonna be riffing in 10 or 15 years.
Apparently initially that 2000 Album, Iommi was meant to exclusively have Phil Anselmo on the vocals for every track. I think Phil didn't have the time to record all of it as he was busy with other projects. Though that last part I am not sure of the details.
@@jaffajames2556 Around that time Pantera was touring Reinventing the Steel.
@@vinnie245 Thanks for filling in the gaps dude.
Bro... the baddest guitarist and the baddest MF TO EVER LIVE!
best metal vocalist of ALL time teamed up with the best metal riffer of all time
What did Glenn and Tom Warrior do together???
TOTENGOTT fucked one another
Warrior WAS an absolutely lethal riffer. But Iommi invented the form.
@@totengott6599 Glenn Rambo (rip) was major influence in the NOLA area but better than The Kid?!? Quit smoking banana peels and smoke weed.
Dimebag was the riff master, so Phil already did that. Just saying!
These guys seriously need to record an album together before it's too late
its too late
@@dimebagdarrell2390 Phil's voice sucks now
@@billrobertjoe apparently you haven't listened to any of the latest Pantera shows
@@KenVH5150 His voice has very slowly improved from 2017 to today, it seems he was the worst in 2018, but when he opened for slayer in 2019 you could hear the voice starting to improve, and he has improved more and more until today. It's fun to see the prorgress, he won't be 90s era phil again, but he can still nail a lot off stuff without the higher range
The Creator of Metal on guitar
The King of Metal on vocals
GODLY
Iommis breakdown sounds like a massive tribute to dime. To my ear anyway. And naturally Dime paid major homage to Iommi throughout his career. But it's really awesome hearing some Dimebag come through.
That is the beauty of this album. The song with Ian Astbury has some Cult-ish stuff in it. The Billy Corgan song has Smashing Pumpkins in it. He did a great job of being Tony Iommi while playing to the singers strengths. The bonus stuff on "13" has a few Randy Rhoads type riffs that play into what Ozzy became after Sabbath. In my opinion, there is no better guitarist from his era. I really don't think Jimmy Page or Tony's other peers could write a relevant song today or even between 1996-2000, when this album was done. Tony wrote more than an album's worth of great songs. Even with "13" being a throwback to the mid 70's it still sounded relevant.
Still drinking and listening to this in 2019...Metal never dies

2022, still drinking and listening to this. Cheers.
The grandfather of riffs meets the king of vocals. This goes like milk and honey.
last year when i saw Down at the warfield i talked to Phil for a few minutes and told him the track on the iommi album was one of my favorites, he said, "shit u havent heard the rest of the tracks we did we got almost a whole album worht of stuff but we only ended up using one" he complemented me on my sabbath cross and said how he got one from tony when they recorded together. im glad i found this here as i wondered if these tracks would ever be released.
Phil's voice aways brings that PANTERA vibe to every track
HOLY CRAP THIS IS METAL! This is better than like almost anything out now. I want an entire album with this collaboration.
I really wish that third song would surface at some point in time. It has to be out there somewhere!
five years later and still nothing
FuryPulseAVP FeelsBadMan
@@furypulseavp6121 Phil has said it'll likely never see the light of day
This is the right name. I have the video where Phil says this song is called Inversion Of The Saviors. The other song is called The Day That Never Comes. And finally the track that made it into Tony Immoi's album as we all know is called Time Is Mine.
Time is mine is my favorite. There's another song out there that Phil said will probably never be released
I just had an eargasm. Best shit I've heard from Phil since NOLA \m/
Iommi X Anselmo = unstoppable
Metal Gods 🤘 wish they had made an entire Album together! And toured 🤘
Man that follows hell is one of the best songs from II
great southern trendkill vibes
You never lose a gift like that. His vocal range is awesome. I bet if he was 100% sober, he could sing any Pantera song note perfect. Even high pitch vocals like in 'Shattered' or any death like screams in 13 steps (To nowhere). He was, is, and will remain one of the greatest vocalists in metal ever. Dont be fooled by Down either. Its his style for that band. But when he chooses to, he will blow you away with damaging vocals.
tony sounds like dime so much here. I know dimes tone can never be recreated even from the hand of doom, but still.
more like Dime sounds like Tony..
@@Red-ph1br nah dime had his own style
@@nico.ch029 A style heavily influenced by Tony. The entire band were practically Sabbath worshippers.
sounds like a better produced superjoint ritual song
andy etling wtf do you mean with "better produced"? xd r u saying superjoint production sound is weak? lmao
@Be No-one ....I think its U that's the pussy here friend, that's as crystal clear as the meth you smoked before posting that dumb ass comment
Just noticed that he used this lyrics on "Down - Steeple" song. Cool fact.
Phillip can make bad ass music with anyone the fact that its tony makes this song even better great track
Reminds me a bit of " Yesterday Don't Mean Shit"... .. hey what the heck. ??
Tony Iommi kicks so much ass on the guitar and Phil's vocals are heavy as hell
Discovering this song has literally made my day
Literally, if the title did not give away who it was on guitar I would almost say this is an unreleased track from Pantera themselves!! He sounds exactly like Dimebag!!
It just goes to show the true musicianship of Tony Iommi and how he can adapt to any style you throw at him.
Sounds more like Superjoint Ritual or Down
Phil, a bad ass frontman, along with Tony lommi this is the results ! 🤘
Yes, this was originally called Inversion Of The Saviours as heard at 2:59-3:00. The other song they recorded together is called The Day That Never Comes. (Classic Rock magazine December 2000 Issue 21, interview with Phil Anselmo). Lets hope this third song becomes available on here one day.
1:42-2:02 Is the chorus from the new Down song Steeple. P
Looks like Phil has been sitting on this lyric for sometime...
the lyrics are basically from superjoint before superjoint
From the moment I hear the drums in the first second, I can tell this is gonna rock...2 years later..IT STILL DOES!
Sounds just like Dime.
Jordan Cooper iommi was a big influence to dime
true that. Dime is Iommi, Randy rhoads, Eddie Van halen, and his own Texas blues style and Electrifying sound. It don't matter what it is he could make it fit. he had more emotion in his pinky the most people have in their hearts.
Josh Grahm Can’t forget Ace Frehly

Put him into the studio with iommi Ward and Butler
Damn this song is off the hook! I love Time Is Mine and this is just as good as that!
Beyond cool. Thanks for sharing~!
Absolutely untouchable track. Classic for me for sure. LORD UNMATCHED ❌
This song rips so hard...Thanks for sharing
Awesome song! This is what Superjoint Ritual would have sounded like if Iommi was their guitarist!
Holy shit, this is so fast!
I wish they did a full album together. Both of these legends can do no wrong on a track.
awesome interview, led to me this too
Omg ! Why am I just discovering this now? Awesome
For everybody out there they were supposed to do an entire album but phil was too busy at the time ,I think he said he regrets that though.
They should do a whole album together this is magic.
I just found these 3 tracks that Iommi and Anselmo recorded..Awesome tracks..I need to find this album..
I love how Iommi inspires people. Even the comments about him are awesome to read.
I'll just say I wish he had more riffs like these recently instead of the ones he put out on Dep, Fused and H&H which to me were really dull.
they should totally do an album together.
Blows my head off
prefer this over time is mine for sure. two legends. two legendary songs!
Time is mine kicks ass though
the solo would be the best part of the song
i still love it all
AWESOME JAM HERE MY FRIENDS HAD TO SHARE LIKE PANSABBATERA!
That riff is an absolute fucking hurricane
Is amazing !
Cool man, and as soon as I have any other material I will of course put it up.
A máquina de riffs e o melhor vocal de todos os tempos juntos!!!! Inferno na terra 👏👏👏

Yes !!
WOOOAH!!!!!
All I ever heard of was TIME IS MINE!, which kicks ass....
now THIS?? it's my lucky day.
Phil re-used some of these lyrics in a down track right? Steeple?
+Timothy Perri Re-worked lyrics yes. Well spotted, no one has ever mentioned that on my video before!
we mentioned this 2 months before this look at the comments..
+Daveyboy want a cookie?
Good call!
the vocals and riffs are crushing
I just had eargasm.
This song is so fast that I can't believe this is a Iommi track
I can't remember the last time I heard a song this good. Philip is so insanely talented.
Iommi should get Phil again to do some vocals with all those riffs he has shelved.
I could ;-) VdoP and fbd...his voice is just amazing.
I know how hard it is to get those rare vids. I got 110 Pantera and Down shows...including backstage and tour-bus footage...hosting TV shows and so on.
Cool video!
crikey, this is sooooo badassssss gooooood! Iommi is brutal here!
Janis, Singapore
Estos si es metal y del bueno
These two need to make a full length album NOW!!!
Remember reading years ago Phil saying that he and Tony recorded enough songs together to have a full album. Would love for that to release!!
Deadly fucking duo man!!! This is legendary metal gold!!
Happy Birthday Phil!
Nice work, sounds like Superjoint Ritual with a rippin riff
WOW!
Tony Iommi is a madman
Kicking fucking ass! They're killing us all forever!
Best Metal Frontman EVER!!!!
BADASS TRACK !
I Can feel the metal!!! dude, how fuckin'satisfying is this!!!
Timeless 🔥
OMG!!!.......This is THE sound I wish Sabbath had moved towards!!......PRAYING the new album is FAST!!!.....They can shred with anybody!!!......They were playing this long before Pantera came around, just a little slower.......
Everything in this track is absolutely INSANE
except no solo,,,,
So do I.
Holy Shit. Amazing
yeha man i love it all. I love the way he sounds in this song, and of course all the shit on Far Beyond.
I search day and night for rare tracks.
Headbanging the Song.

Fuck off Communist!
Last time I screamed like that was when I smashed my shin against my trailer hitch
i respect that.
FFFFFFFFUUUUUUUU-
that is one of the most bad ass iommi riffs ive ever heard
That beast-growl had to'of scared Iommi..... sharing music with #PhilCore had to be on the bucket-list!
Iommi wouldn't have been scared...he would have said, "Well done my son."
Iommi never gets old, although he's like 60+ now
Great shit!
I pray for the day that the day that never comes, comes but it never does
total badass
This song kicks ass!
hes a god. kickass i cant wait for it...
This is what heaven sounds like
Anselmo Screams, Growls and Clean and lyrics are amazing, besides he plays guitar very good, he isn't a shredder but he is good, this guy has a natural gift.
