    I'm currently applying to Norwegian! Any tips to make my resume stand out and help me get the job?? I'm wanting to work as assistant stage manager or something backstage related 😅😎

    • @kurtjenkins
      @kurtjenkins  5 лет назад +3

      Thanks for reaching out! I honestly don’t know the hiring process for backstage, but just make sure you’re aware of the ship lifestyle. If they feel you can handle the workload and lifestyle, you’ll have a leg up. I need to make a video about that kind of thing. Thanks!

      @@mysticrose6718 i actually didn’t pass my medical exam bc you need a year worth of consistent medication when it comes to anxiety and depression and my dosages were changing a lot. i can reapply in may, when it has been a year but as long as you are doing the paperwork as quickly as you can as soon as they send it and keeping up with your emails it’s pretty smooth sailing!!

      I'm sure they'll get in touch eventually. Sometimes they can be slow. The training was ok for me. Basic safety training was long. But I'm glad I learned the information.

    You're from Birmingham, AL? I'm from Tuscaloosa. I'm thinking about applying to NCL as a photographer and I'm doing research on the job. Do they pay you enough to live off of during the off months? Is this the type of job you would make a lifetime career?

    • @kurtjenkins

      Yep, Bham is my hometown. I don't know how much photographers make. But there's a photographer from the US onboard, and he seems to be enjoying himself.

    I Just applied and I see they drug test. Do they test for THC if so what kind of test they do? And where do you take the test at? Thank you!.

    • @kurtjenkins
      @kurtjenkins  Год назад +2

      NCL does a full drug scan. Pee test, I believe. And they assign the date and location.

    I’m looking into cruise ship work. I have nothing anchoring me, too much. Long days don’t bother me as long as I’m trained and compensated. Down the rabbit hole I go to find more info.

    Question anyone know how long is the contract for new hires? Positions like cruise director staff(assistants assistant) Do the crew stay in one ship? Is it possible if the first week is one ship next week another?

    • @kurtjenkins
      @kurtjenkins  5 лет назад +1

      Depends on the position. My contract was 6-7 months. Some others up to 9. CD’s schedules can vary significantly depending on what’s happening. I’ve seen 3 weeks; I’ve seen 10 months.

    Terrible ship i worked.on one in Hawaii and it was just horrible the way I.got treated and still burned into my mind never forget how disrespectful they were to crew members.many got fired I got fired oh really REALLY!!! They kept firing crew members it made me sick to.my stomach...I got sick one day on Sunday heading back to the ship I.nauseated and threw uo and missed.ship I.had no way to call the ship or our company to alert them they completely ignored me and used excuses about me that were lies NCL didn't care they never get caught.. Most crew whom were fired too for no reason this company ia abusive and neglect and all of that for security reasons I never said the names of crew members because of retaliation by the company now I am just kicking back i loved my job and it was a lifetime dream shattered by them.... The day I was suppose to assist the deaf who were coming aboard for the cruise I told them your problem to communicate with them because I am only one that knows american sign language to assist them too.bad they learn hard way without me.. I.never could imagine why they treat us like that its just horrible people I.heard staff got fired for firing crew members now the ship is gone so don't know whats going on oh well now I am enjoying my retirement at home too bad 😢 I did love that job they ruined me thanks a lot good luck and beware of NCL company behind your backs to all crew
