If you have the means to, please shop locally. Your neighbors need the support, not the big companies.
Do you know how many people Walmart employs? Those people count on their paychecks too. Yes, they get more customers, but they also have a lot more employees to pay and a lot more products to buy and ship.
What I think is, you can shop locally AND from big companies depending on what they have, if your local Walmart or whatever store doesn’t have the paint you want, go to your local small business and get some homemade paint, and vice versa.
People work at those stores too tho. Why not both? I try to split my grocery and food spending on local and chain
