    Learn how to block a body kick with perfect technique. In this video, Dee demonstrates how to correctly block a body kick.
    The key to blocking is balance, timing and technique. If you don't have good timing, you won't be able to block any kick. This video teaches you the correct technique to use when you want to block a body kick.
    The key is to make sure there is no gap between your knee and your elbow. If there is a gap, your opponent can sneak the kick in between your guard.

    This block makes the most sense. You need to do drills of the block technique until it becomes automatic muscle memory.

    Make sure you don't elbow your own leg when blocking.. Learned that the hard way on my first class 😅

    This was a really good breakdown of the defense, also landed my elbow on my knee earlier and hurt myself!

    Should elbow be on the outside of the leg that does get blocking or inside?

    Yes, I think that's how to block Roundhouse Kicks. I think, I got Front Kick blocks figured out.
    Push Kicks, High Roundhouse. Axe Kicks. High Side Kicks.
    Surely the only way to discourage high kicks, is to catch them? Although, I am not sure that is allowed!
    I must figure out, a good defence for the flying knee also! I am revealing all my secret techniques and weaknesses here!

    How do you block a guy who has crazy fast punches and would keep punching?

    • @Muaythaipros
      @Muaythaipros  6 лет назад +7

      Have a strong guard to protect yourself and throw body kicks. As the punch, they will expose their body to your kicks. Watch Sittichai vs. Kickboxers in Glory and you will notice he kicks all the heavy punchers.

    Never understod, but doesnt it hurt really bad just form blocking and also kicking when u meet bone on bone? The front part of the bone is angular and it would be cuts in the bone. Imagine a sword vs sword,.. get it? Just the thought of Use your chin to block hurts. I wonder since i just started training muay thai.

    Great video but which way of blocking kicks are better toes down or feet up and why?

    • @Muaythaipros
      @Muaythaipros  5 лет назад +3

      Block your kicks with your feet pointing up. While some old school Muay thai guys block with feet pointing down, 90% of the guys block with their feet up because if your opponent lands a kick on your ankle with your feet pointing down, it can break it.

      @Muaythaipros  5 лет назад

      @@constandinosk.3251 I've never had someone kick my toes and i've never seen that happen to anyone in my life. If you are blocking correctly, you are making contact with the shin bone, not your toes.
