I've read the old Garfield comics so many times I feel at this point. The funny thing is that while his modern design has him almost always walking on two legs, Garfield literally wasn't supposed to early on. There was a comic where he realizes he can walk on two legs to reach higher places, kick Odie, etc., and then Jon reminds him he is a cat and can't physically do that, so he falls down. lol He's come a long way, but it's funny how much of an actual cat he used to be.
Garfield not giving a rats ass about the opponents attack is very comic accurate. Those devs know what theyre doing and thats awesome.

Hot take; as much as I love the reference it feels kinda forced. It’s very funny but in the context of the character I don’t think we’ve ever seen Garfield revert back to his old design, it would essentially be the equivalent of turning into your self as a baby. Also the shine mechanic doesn’t help as it just makes it feel like it was tact on to Garfield to give someone a shine instead of giving him a shine because it fits the character.
The question remains, where's Garzooka at?
