What keeps this cynic smiling is the infinite slices of life like this. No matter who you are you atleast have atleast one small beautiful story like this. Makes me love the human condition.
I definitely prefer the longer album version than this radio edit. The anthemic phrase "We love our audience" is so watered down in this version and the melody is too simplified for radio friendly listening. The subtle nuances are lost and the instrumentation doesn't creatively challenge the listener as much as the album version does.
There is something magical about this song... Spirit, She's In Parties, Hollow Hills are top 3 Bauhaus songs in my opinion. Peter Murphy is one of the coolest frontmen EVER.
