      The Lore is what keeps me in, even after years and in a less of game it was - no such thing as an ex-TR soldier and until we will return to Earth, home. :)

    perhaps they should add a slightly larger incentive for alerts. I think this lack of caring about them is more of a hindrance than help, so my idea is there is a guaranteed cosmetic drop every few alerts, not too far off overwatch's loot box drops, in that every 3 or so completions or wins, you're guaranteed a cool drop. And in my opinion cosmetics are always a godly incentive in games. Thoughts are welcome should ppl care :)

      @@rushja1196 Thats true. I should specify that they should drop *good* cosmetics for example, 65% chance camo, 35% chance armor/helmet. Keep in mind, still only for every 3rd alert or something similar

      In some games they call it a pity timer. If you don't get anything cool in a few drops, your next thing has something. I think that would be a really great idea.

    New alert: Nanite famine!
    You are only given 50 lives before you are kicked of the continent, redeploy must be done inside a spawn room or you loose a life. Bases are captured almost instantly (10 seconds).
    Latice is disabled for this alert, you can attack any adjacent territory. The first faction to reach the enemy warpgate wins. This way, whenever a faction runs out of soldiers, the warpgate will just be taken without any resistance and the alert will end swiftly. Meaning no waiting around to win an alert were the enemy has pretty much already surrendered.
    Basically meant to murder redeploy-side and make the game a bit more tactical for like 1 hour maybe.

      We got one coming devs are making an alert were ants gather resources deposit them in hives that once full take off and reward the faction for doing work so you need to grab a tank or any vehicle and either hunt ants or defend them across the map.

    I dont fly, so when I see air anomalies, I drive over with a AA sundi, and start shooting. TR Tacs.

    Thee aerial anomalies actually got way more people into the air game. When aircraft are free, you don't have to juggle with nanites.

    They should add another air event for experiment whoever has the most pop gets a bastion that need to make it from point A to point B basically across the map the overpop have to defend it as it makes its way across.

    A good way to make certs during the warpgate stabilization event is spawn as fast as possible, redeployside to the front line and park a sundie somewhere. I did that at eisa tech plant on esamir as an attacker, parked a sundie near the southeastern shield gen. Since I was one of the first there, there wasn't any opposition. The fight got pretty huge pretty fast and kept on going even after the warpgates stabilized, and it was probably one of the funniest ones I've ever been in. I made around 500 certs in 2 hours until the sundie finally got destroyed, more than half of which were just from the spawning.

    You never stood a chance at that AMP station, did you not notice the timer? At 1st you were in front of the event timer, but at 2:10 ( 5:30 in the video), you started trailing behind, basically, the clocks are still broken... and i though that that bug was fixed long ago...

    I think there was a good fix for the Aerial Anomalies creating air balls back when they accidentally "broke" them Summer event; Where many multiple Anomalies were spawning simultaneously across the map.
    Multiple simultaneous Anomalies not only meant the spawn location didn't favor any particular Faction, but that a singular large group of Aircraft wouldn't be able to establish dominance over all of them.

      Repackaging the same product over and over again as unnecessary Sequels is for Slave-Driver publishers like E.A. and Activision who HAVE to post double digit dividends to keep their shareholders from selling the whole thing off to TenCent ... But it has NOT been working in their favor lately. Infact some MMORPG's are finding new leases on life just by having friendlier Progression mechanics or Private-Servers that strip out the terrible content Patches that ruined the game for loyal regulars.
      As it stands? Planetside2 would not be justified doing in a "Remastered" marketing gimmick based on just adding more pieces of eye candy through DX11 unless EVERY SINGLE piece of CODE that references Dx9 were stripped completely out of it AND they started including parts of DX12 specifically to tackle the single threaded Cache bandwidth bottlenecking that's unavoidable when displaying more than a couple players in field of view at a time.

    It'd be kinda cool if they had floating bases for aircraft to cap. Rn the alerts aren't bad, but since they aren't new anymore, less ppl are attracted to them, and so maybe implement better rewards for every contribution to the alert each player had. So say he collected 1000 points, the player would get more Iso, or a rare implant. If the player helped cap 3 outposts, they would get something similar. If they helped cap 6 outposts, they'd get a nice cosmetic and more Iso and implants. Idk we need something that rewards more players who actively participate in alerts, and I'd really like to see a huge reward for leaders of organized platoons that participate in the alert together. A platoon/outfit wide reward along for a bonus for whoever coordinated squads/platoon.

    i think they should take the ant concept from the new alert they are working on and make it so for a period of time the winning faction get a unique vehicle or addition to their arsenal like air anomaly can give the winning faction a galaxy with some kind of heavy anti infantry and ground vehicle weapons and change it so kill percents are added to the victory for the air alert (i never did one so idk if it does now or not)

    Armor alerts focusing on capturing the non-base bases.... the ones that are only the point in the middle of the lattice. That would be my suggestion for another alert and would be easy to implement.

    What I really liked about the arieal anomalies is that it showed us how fun the air game was when there is less at stake. Loosing your 350 nanite ESF against an ace pilot you can't compete with is frustrating as hell. I really wish vanillia ESF were free.

    Wow, I'm just about to finish a cringe-inducing kill compilation video on today's air anomalies, first time I decided to participate and it was fun, as in Fun (tm).
    Oh and btw, don't know if I ever mentioned it, but about 2 (?) years ago I gunned for your harrasser (TR - Connery - Tipico) and I still remember it since that was the first I ever had a social interaction in-game (limited to "NEED AMMO" and "Great driving, thx dude" lol). Cheers o7

      Haha thanks for gunning! One of those wonderful things about this game, you can create a bond with a driver or gunner, even though you barely say a word. Some of the best times I have had in PS2.

    Hate the warpgate stabilisation alerts on Indar. They are always a threeway clusterfunk where nobody gains ground and each faction is too separated. Hossin, Amerish and Esamir don't have this problem. Would be nice if everyone could fight over the crown but nobody actually holds it, or has spawns based on nearby lattice links like the amp stations on Amerish. That way it wouldn't just be a point and click adventure with a sniper rifle or MBT. Might also make the crown takeable with less than a 65% overpop.

    I will never for get the last full world Bio lab alert. i was with Neon Grind and we the remnants of SWAT and FIST outfits with us.
    We were on Esamir at the Northern most BL and with 5 minutes left we rallied to hold another one on Indar. 7 maxes 12 Engies 12 medics and all the rest were heavies. we got to the warp room and locked it down. Claymores, lock down Mercy maxes and as many mini hats as we could get. with 2 minutes left we waited for 20 seconds. *my greatest memory of this game were 20 seconds ADSing and engineer turret* only to be told that it was a feint, and the NC attacked another bio lab.
    We lost.

    Honestly, I'm getting excited for what's coming along. I'd be very excited if they took advantage of a lot of older models they had and used as reward prizes. Two I can think of off hand at the moment is the Drone they looked into giving the Infiltrator at one point and the NS Super tank. Having rewards like those to spawn at the vehicle terminal would be great.

    Another thing for air alerts, it bothers me alot when it literally one faction having atleast 60 esfs with lock ons at an air anomaly. Making it literally to jave any fun when you get hit by 100+ coyotes

    Honestly if they would tweak the spawns of the aerial anomalies (My idea being have one spawn in each's territory close to the front and then a 4th spawn in the center) and maybe make multiple at a time happen (Say two, so if one faction is OPing one ball the other two can duke it out over the other and maybe play a bit of catch up) then the anomalies might work a bit better, or better yet say have one in the center of the 3 fronts (provided all 3 territories have roughly equal footing, which usually they seem to at the early time when these alert types happen) and then 2 or 3 spawn at the fronts of the two loosing teams
    And I'm going to guess that they might have laid some of these alerts in prior to the DX11 update, hoping to leave it as a cookie for the player base while they get that sorted, with the intent that "We know these alerts might have some issues but it's something, and that should be resolved as soon as we get things updated" though for all I know them planning to update to DX11 could not time in with the planning of the alerts, I just know that when the Air anomaly first dropped, the first night, it was so awesome that you almost didn't care at first that you had under 15FPS and insane lag, the sheer awe and glee outwayed it (At least for a manic person on a "It runs big things okish on low graphics" machine)

    96+/96+ is very common on Cobalt EU, sometimes its fun, sometimes not really, depends on participaiting outfits(no cheatfits) and the base

      It uses to be commonplace on Ceres, now you'll rarely have 48-96 in one warpgate at the start.

    Alerts: I'll say this, there has never been a time in my PS2 gaming career where there have been so many things to do... and yet me and my outfit don't care about them. The only ones that we care about are the ones that cap the continent. More often than not, we lose, but it's still a fun thing. I remember the VP w/ Hives system. While I didn't like the fact that hives were involved at all, I did like the little extra points involved with the little extra accomplishments on those continents. I think it'd be badass if they went back to THAT system, but with these alerts generating VP's, cause certs were falling from the heavens then, and with how many certs we get for winning alerts.... oml, I'd be in paradise. Going back to the last video, where we talked about MGF vs. DX11, I'm curious: Do you think we'll be able to go back to that look of Planetside with the new rendering engine? Do you even think that they still have those old files waiting around to be used? I love the old AI elements that I see from those vids, and all the art assets look sexy as hell.

    You really show up in the video what I don't like about the aerial alert. Mostly domination of one faction, a too big pile up, but mostly like you do lock on, coyote and drifter rocklet spam. What you didn't mention was the constant flak spam from the ground. +1 for the vid, -2 how you participate in the alert

    For the aerial anomaly event at one time there were multiple anomalies popping up to about 10 and staying up till the end of the event. It was kinda boring but what would happen if they had one or two anomalies up at a time?

    What I almost feel is for the techplants/outposts is that cutting off the latices to the plant should cut off the points aquired for the faction that is holding it, and give it to the faction that has the majority cut off. Take Indar and...I don't know, the Allatum Bio Lab because that's the first place my eyes landed on. There are 3 Lattices that connect to it to keep it online, two of which are right next to it and easy to get to, pending how deep the enemy got into territory, and the third one to the west that you have to go around south and capture at least three areas of to make the lab go offline.
    My idea is how can you win, that is, get the supplies if your routes are cut off?
    The flaw is population and such. So, maybe the lattices around the labs should be worth points, per say, like a multiplier. Whoever owns the plants will get more points if they manage to keep people from pushing closer, where as the people attack will get points pending how much closer or fully cutting off the plant. Something like that. The idea is to make the system not be a 96+ v 96+ clusterfuck in a hallway, but more strategic. A "oh crap they got us surrounded, we're going to lose" instead of "let's just keep spamming grenades so we win." Something like that.
    I have no idea if I'm speaking english anymore to make sense or if what I'm thinking of is even feasible...

    What im looking forward to, would be to see the interaction, between the mini alerts, and bastion fleet carriers (one they are added). More alerts you win, the closer you get to construction of your carrier. That way people would have more reason to do these alerts. Another idea would be to bring in that tank alert. I remember seeing the alert were a tank would spawn, and then your faction needs to protect it. Perhaps increase reward pool on mini alerts. These are just to name a few.

    I'd really like to see "Fleet Carrier Alerts"... they could try replacing these with the normal Continent-Lock Alerts under certain circumstances. If the Alert-triggering faction has all big facilities of a certain type for instance... or when the Alert is triggered AND the active player count cracks a certain number or something.
    If that happens, the Warpgate of the triggering faction would spawn 2 fleet carriers. They'd move slowly towards the two enemy warpgates, serving as spawning Platform for Vehicles and infantry alike. They have a huge healthpool but can be shot down.
    If both of these fleet carriers reach a certain spot near the enemy warpgates without being shot down (travel time like 1 hour for instance), they'd trigger an Orbital-Strike "destroying" both enemy Warpgates and locking the Continent.
    It would be 2 vs 1 faction wise, but the triggering faction would have the fleet carriers as force-multipliers to even the odds.
    When a Fleet Carrier is at 50% health, their shields would go down and enemy infantry would be able to board them, giving an alternative way to take them down by overloading the command-console or something.
    I know it's kind of unrealistic to expect something like this (would be a hell lot of work to implement it, not even mentioning the balancing)... but still... I kind of get thrilled by the idea....

    My problem with alerts is that they destroy performance, aerial one being the worst offender turning my infantry weapons into BB guns and adding lot of lag on my end, the code of the aerial anomaly really needs a rework

      It's been pretty stable since they patched it, dunno if you've played since then. Must have been a few weeks ago by now. If you still get performance drops linked undeniably to the anomalies, it might be worth firing up a bug report.

    Another thing. The alert timer is faster than capture timers. In your amp station example, even if you held it for the entire time, you wouldn't have gotten it in time for the alert, because the alert timer ticks down faster.

      Some say the bugged alert timer is older than Planetside itself. Haha jk, but yeah the broken alert timer is annoying.

    thanks for all this content mate.
    alert thought, multiple anomaly that pilot have to move on the map to destroy ESF in other area or anomaly random location after a timer, also underpop faction generate via a ratio more point in anomaly than overpop faction.
    to spraid the fight on the ground i thought about the same concept as the new valkyrie, but spawnable with base and with certain condition to decide in manner that not everybody can do it at the same time but not reinforce too much an over pop empire (may be gain thru alert that don't be affected by fire power) sunderer who allow a capture up to 2 territory behind enemy line. the idea here is not to allow capture behind, but generate a unique territory behind to be little weakness that it have to be take care. those capture wouldnt be like a proper territory (not counting as a controled territory, longer timer to capture) the sundy need a better resistance or a upgraded furtivity cloak, orbital strike have no effect in the area (we could even replace the sundy with a device to set on the point) spawn option have to be define as well.
    may be it could encourage smaller squad to play more in a commando way and surprise the classic battle line that we know, we need to push the action for smaller squad.
    it could reinforce air transport if spawn option are set in a way that this weakness create noises in the spawning system and without cutting the territorry will not allow enemy from warpgate to join the fight up ahead.
    might bring new tactical dimension on the game.
    did not play for two years cause i'm travelling so i may miss things here, but damn i love this game, i will be back soon :D

    The problem with some events is that they are almost impossible to do in certain maps (for example, Indar's north biolab).

    My suggestion for a more refined aerial battle is The anomaly should be more of hex zone control like a flag congestion. or could be a ticket drainer of the factions in the hex zone for the air anomaly. I think a matter of both should be used to prevent border campers of the zone.

    My biggest *sigh* moment in aerial alerts is the fact that it tends to mean that any ground battle during that time will suddenly be overrun with a dozen of aircraft from each side that constantly respawn because 'hey they're free'.

      yup i abused this once. we were getting overrun by the nc and i just spawned like five galaxies and rammed it onto their sunderers.

    ground alerts would be nice, i would really love a fight where we dont have to fight for a tiny room and zero spawn camping. thats why i love fighting in tech plants and amp stations so damn much.

    unfortunately on Connery, Aerial Anomolies generally end up just being TR with 10k points and everyone else with < 100, no one really tries most of the time
    there's also a bug (god I hope it's not on purpose) where they can start before the Warpgate Stabilization alert is up, making the entire continent have like 1/10th of its max territory for over an entire hour

    I know you’re all about ps2, but I’ve been doing some reminiscing about shooters. I watched the entire play through of Black for the ps2 recently. That game was epic and deserves a sequel.     I suppose if the devs want to make people more interested in the aerial events, they could do some sort of strategic event. Maybe a mysterious structure appears out of the anomaly, with some powerful cannons to use against large enemy groups. The objective would have to be capturing it, and whoever holds it the longest would win. This would involve a lot of footwork, but having to fly up to cap it could result in a massive swarm of vehicles flying towards the objective. Of course, the structure would have to have some unusually powerful weapons to give it high strategic value.
    It's just an idea. I don't play PS2 very often, but I like seeing the gameplay and hope to get more into it over time.

    The Large Outpost alert is honestly my favorite of the current alerts. Aerial Anomaly is just terrible on PS4, it's always completely one sided. Usually because only one faction is actually trying. The rest of the alerts are just pointless or double teaming. Honestly I would rather have the PS4 version of Critical mass alerts back. Without the cortium refinement mechanic those alerts would pop the second one faction got to 41% territory. That meant that all of the players that got that faction to 41% would still be online and they would be able to keep up their momentum. It also meant that continents were rotating every 45 minutes to two hours. When we had two continents open we would go straight from one alert to another. There was never a period of 4-6 hours where you're stuck on Esamir with the worst fights in the game. I really hope they do something to change the way alerts work currently, because they just aren't fun.
    Also you didn't mention Meltdown Alerts. Was there any particular reason for that? Granted they seem to be quite rare. I've only seen one since I started playing again.

    Aerial anomolies are not popular on the miller server. I found myself getting destroyed by TR mosquitos majority of the time with overpop. There's one time where 1 of the NC commanders tell NC soldiers not to participate and instead focus on territories. That aside, reavers are still in a disadvantage because of their relatively large hitbox both vertical and horizontal when compared to other ESFs

    Wasn't expecting another video so soon. On the topics and a couple of tweaks in game from my perspective. Increase harasser health pool, tweaks on a couple of directive weapons to be more enticing to use after all that effort (Darkstar is like the Betelgeuse but for medic, increase the RPM to 720 so it a middle ground between 698 and 750, Betelgeuse have a bit of the ads MS back, .65 or .6 maybe), some sort of handicap to the faction being double teamed when everyone is almost equal in continent control but not when they own a large portion 50+. On the aerial anomaly, they should implement something like I mentioned before. Slow the gain for the faction that posses too much aircraft and points and increase for those who have little. Give points to faction that takes out aircraft in area but held to the same rules as before. On the continent events they would need to rearrange a lot of territory for the sake of change and to benefit the events more. Majority of fights are always in the same places. For them to do that, they would need to develop some sort of Legoesq type program to easily change. Bases need more protection from vehicle and air farm. Saw someone talk about sundies defense on off hour when someone brings a tank and takes out the spawns and ruining the fights. Don't know what to say here. Flash wraith cooldown penalty to 2.5s - 3s. C4 down to 3.5s - 4s.
    Edit: forgot to mention to add the composite armor and helmets to the directive tree for infantry. Something that makes the progress less of a hassle. Helmet on completion of silver, armor on gold, auraxis and a banner on the final one. Base camo for each Continent at BRs of 25, 30, 35. Some things to keep the new players hooked on the game.

    You forgot to mention the unstable meltdown alerts. Those are basically like the normal alerts but with less terretory and they only last 45 min and are triggered if less than 120 playera are on a continent

    Since the last video I have stopped playing ps2, it’s way to hard to keep up with the game and school at the same time. In this game you should play 2 hours a day to keep your mind and muscles working together well, it’s just not casual enough.

    I like the Air Alerts when playing with a squad. It 'forces' me to get more into the aircraft game. I have put more time and 'real' money into the game; for outside the alert!
    I see more gameplay towards the end of the month. Basically more people want the most bang for their buck. Just like how malls and online retailers. You see the most towards certain periods of the year. Analogously the same thing in planetside.
    Also, I am going to experiment with other servers. Which 'forces' me to have at least a basic pool of weapons. So I am more useful to the fights in them.
    They are working on it.

    There's also an unstable meltdown alert, roughly half the map is active and it runs for 45 minutes but is otherwise identical to standard meltdowns. Same pay for half the time too.

    Recently, i return to the game after 2 years berak. Back in the day BioLbas are huge pain in the as* and it seems like it did not changed at all. I think BioLab desing needs to change. 96+ from both sides stuck in there while most of the continent is empty.

    Cross continent alerts is no no... but because cosmetics matter some.
    It had good alert system 2 years ago. Too much focus on alerts, maybe people will get alerts to work on a specific directive...and get iso that way...

    My biggest problem with the air alert is free planes able to kill my tank that i spent nanites on, if vehicles are going to be free for an event it may as well be all of them and not air exclusive, Also lower the altitude of the air anom's to bring in more ground engagement. Air anom's being up near skybox also limit the angles that a countering air attacks can come from. Ps is connery ready to get merged with Emerald yet? my Emerald prowler is almost auraxed.

    yes you know im still new to the game but i think if the game has new tipe off aircraft it will bee more fun to play the ship will bee the air base it is a big drop ship but it will bee like a model base with spon points on it veicheel pads and more like torrents it can bee like a new war in the air not only airships but theank a fight with your ait base and the enemy air base fighting and air ships helping drop troops in the the enemy air base and so on but the problem is can the game run something like that ? pls guys and girls halp me . what do you think of it .

    Maybe if the facility alerts instead of focusing on all of that particular type instead focused on all three at once. Perhaps giving a seperate reward for techplant, amp station, and biolab but still having all 3 active.

      @@lordlard2833 It would mitigate the problems caused by having to many players in a single location. And keeping them seperate doesn't really give a lot of variety to the alerts since in the end there isn't really much difference between the 3. Also if they could get an anomoly of some kind for armor that would help increase the variety. Not sure how they would arrange the mcguffin but a push to armor battles would be interesting.

    On miller at least i see people using air anomaly to spam A2G esfs and pounding infantry without any cost or spawn delay, so in my opinnion air anomaly dosn't work.

      What should happen is it should take place in a high altitude area where you can't impact the ground game. Alongside that they need to make it more interesting than "hover in this bubble for five minutes until it moves".

    The problem with most alerts is fact that mostly win fraction with the biggest zerg, it reminds me a bit World Domination Series bs.
    Honsestly, when i heard of new alert type my reaction was "wow, ain't give a shit about that, i just want to shoot dudes". Either way it will be probably distaster, couple vehicle zergs crushing with each other near the silo, i smell a lot of salt from that.

    they need to bring back the LLU runs from planetside 1 lattice logic unit... PS1 capture the flag dynamic. you cant put the llu in a air transport and in a ground transport it moves slower n shows up on the mini map for all so needs a escort ... that would help allot.

      The Continent lock alerts are the best ones for gaining ISO. the other ones don't generate a lot.

    Completely agree on your points for the alerts. Ditch the facility alerts altogether since nobody ever cares. I barely care when there's even a large outpost alerrt. Aerial anomalies are a joke in their current state as the snowballing is really bad. The whole anomaly design needs a redo, maybe spread out several capture points and increase the XP or rewards for participating/winning and enable people some come-from-behind wins.
    Continent alerts need to happen more frequently. I shouldn't be able to go 6 hours of playing without encountering a single cont lock alert, that's just absurd and it's the only time people really work together. Pop in will HOPEFULLY be solved with DX11 but I don't know.
    Lastly, the stabilizing alert after a cont unlocks is only a good idea for low-pop times. Otherwise it turns into a shitshow with 96+ on each side fighting over one single territory, and when the whole continent unlocks the fight stays there for HOURS. People will fight over Ti Alloys and Eisa Tech until the cows come home and that's just not productive gameplay.
    Sorry for the long comment, just haven't had anyone to give my two cents to and this video was well made and perfectly describes my problems with the state of the alert game.
