I've had a 2.0 tdci version of these. Was riddled with problems. They're not bad cars. Spacious. I'm after an orange st3 for my next car. I love them just hope they're not as unreliable as the diesel was. It used to kill batteries. Electrics faulty. Immobilised itself. Rusted.
Go for the MK5
Lukas Gröndahl couldn’t agree more
MK5 GTI is a piece of shit. The ST is special and turns heads everywhere it goes.
@Lukas Gröndahl lol when you sit in a vw and then in a Ford, you want to run back to the vw. The focus is literally like a shack compared to the nice house the golf is.
@@ceaser3904 spoken like a true Chav. GTI is a classy car, Fords are Chav motors.
@@Kofi_Mensahs_BurnerAccount Spoken like a true car snob. ST's are enthusiast cars they also sound and look a zillion times better than the GTI. Never been too fond of German motors they are as dull as dish water and every man and his dog had one in the UK on the wacky wacky.
Good vid chap. but you might want to have a rethink about where you decide you "lets say drive a bit freely with your right foot " going through a built up area and having a speed sign flashing you might not be the best idea. also your fpv , 1st thing, dont let the camera show where the needle is on the dial, if the piggy's want to take an interest they would have plenty of evidence, 2nd, put the sun visor up lol.. its just a thought.. any how, i agree that the inside looks and the cheep placky feel let this car down in a big way. but if you think about how much they were when they came out from factory ie starting from 17k the inside is pretty much bang on for a car of that price. they were mainly built for the young petrol heads to afford. couldnt imagan what the insurance would be though !
Late to the party here but I own a mk3. Whilst it's faster, you cant beat that sound that the 5 pot makes.
Looking at a 2007 one forsale in Dublin for €2,800 bargain 👌🏻
Did you buy it for 2800?
Was a mclaren 570’s buddy
They’re actually built in Germany 🇩🇪
Trivern Ganesh yes but Ford are American 😂
@@Masted-dy7xl absolutely zero input from the Americans went into this car though. Ford Europe designed and built this car
Masted 2323 u can’t get this car in America
@Chris Swedish engine.
@Chris en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volvo_Modular_engine
Negative man. These are Volvo engines.
there's nothing wrong with it there's many things you can do for fuel efficiency and power
cinematics on point
Cheers man 🔥
Everyone smiles driving a turbo focus 👍 I have an XR5 🚀🚀🚀
You should try find a Renault sport Megane to test
Or MG ZS180
Id love too
Iv got an orange one, stage 1.5 with pops and bangs running 272bhp, absolute animal!!
I had one remapped and decatted. I now have a 3.0 z4. It was a fun car but fwd sucks. Prefer the beemer. Open top in the sun and a straight six.
Pre facelift looks dead, much prefer my facelift version / mk2.5
Woking Guildford saw that same Mac testing round there
So you don’t want one, but every time you put your foot down you get a massive grin on your face! lol
LOL
also you can change the steering mode
Nobody:
The clutch on this focus: slippery slippery slope 😂😂
Was gonna say that’s Volvo powered 😂 Mondeo ST220 3.0V6 ? 🤘
Not v6 its a volvo t5 engine
I had an mp260 mk2 face lift in oranges. Best car ever! It drank petrol, fucking chewed tyres and the clutch was shagged when I traded it in with 90k on the clock. I would have another 1 any day!
100_200 sec?
With the stiff handling you can change the stiffness on the dash between sport / comfort / standard. There usual set to sport so that’s why it would have felt stiffer than the other cars you have drove.
Nope, that setting just adjusts the steering feel in terms of weight and feedback.
Have you not thought about considering the Leon Cupra? The car is unreal, I looked at the Focus ST, Golf GTI, Golf R, S3, A35 and I thought the Cupra was much better car than all of them especially if you get it with the DSG 👌
All well and good until the DSG craps itself
Think I got a bit excited over the McLaren 😂🤦🏻♂️
Just a little 😂
The st is more a driving car it's a big compromise for it to be an all rounder love it. Trouble is after you've had it a while then it seems normal my previous car was a Corsa d 1.2 to st xr5 is mega but now it's like driving the corsa.....other than overtaking and passing the bell ends on the dual carrageway/motorways . Safely of course 🏎🏎🏎
Where your R32 wheels at
Had a nasty bump on the motorway and my wheel got split 😭
Ooh
@@maxpayne98383 more like oof
My st1 is mega! Sick car. Cool video. Deans a nice lad
Yeah Last wee I had to get rid of my ford focus st 2006 insurance went sky high didn't want to let her go but had to. To costly in fuel etc,
edit
I got custom made car seats to make it better and comfier
Great cars, love mine, bog standard and that's how it will stay
mk2 st will raise in price just like the jdm cars. one of the last 2,5l 5 cylinders.
i have st 2 years nice sound, fast, i like
Why you turn the traction control off isit better off?
I'm intrigued...You think that Mini is Yellow when you see the ST is Orange!!! 🤣 😂 🤣
I've always really went with German cars,it's just a personal choice we feel that they're better quality, but had a "Blue Oval" & a WRX in the best, but only made me appreciate the German stuff more really! 😎👍
Buy a Scirocco is my present input...No air bag suspension bollocks though ffs!!! 😜
Sounds like the clutch is slipping
It was a little yeah
The Ford Focus ST offered in the USA looks waaaaaayyy better than this one shown.
This car is from 2006 to 2010. USA didn't have any focus st back then. The recent focus mk3 st from 2012 is the same in Europe and USA.
I quite like the interior I don't think it's that cheap it's a matter of opinion. I would own one any day and why
That 5cylinder engine
Sounds nice. And of
The Volvo engine fantastic note. It's a nice looking car to not
A small car though
It's quite big inside to
Nice video 👍
St3 interior issues solved
Mk5 gti is best
If you are after a boring, rusty car with a horrible interior and a flat engine with plenty of reliability issues then yes the mk5 gti is for you.
Word Maestro U really hate German cars don’t u 🤣
@@glennclark4212 I really don't and have owned a few myself but as I said, VAG cars of this era are mainly bland, at least this Focus ST is fun and and has character.
Word Maestro Didn’t I read someone saying on here they had 1 and that driveshafts snap easy.. If it was that fun etc as u say why doesn’t brad want 1? Can’t be that fun and great and going back to interiors he says in the vid it feels very plastic in the cabin
With a car this light the 200 hp Fsi is more than enough to have lots of fun, especially with a manual. However I will say I really like that orange on the ST
That was McLaren 600LT lol
sounded more like the clutch is slipping
Ep3 type r, proper fun car to drive/ own
I'd love to get one filmed 🔥
Ask on the ep3 type r owners page man, I’m sure there will be someone near you who would be willing to hand you the keys 🤙🏻
Sloooow
Word Maestro in a straight line, they aren’t the fastest
But around a track there isn’t much that would keep up
@@SizeableBush on a track I pass them easily every time as well as DC5s and my megane is also not a fast car. The ep3 is lacklustre imo and as standard the Focus ST shows them a clean pair of heels whilst being much more playful on the limit.
well....ford is a german company. the focus st is developed and produced by ford europ.....
Fords an American company
The parent company is American, but this car is designed and built by Ford's European arm in Germany, so is nothing to do with America...
What's the St150 like you drove one?
got a clio 182 you can have a rip in sunbury
Yes! Would love too
Pmd on insta
It´s because of the ´cheap´ interior you wouldn´t buy it ... i can live with that. I absolutely love my Ford Focus ST mk2 though
Must be nice to pick one up for that price we can’t get them here in America 💀
i have the new fiesta ST -3 and it drives incredibly it makes me smile every time i put my foot down
Pretty sure the clutch is slipping, drive a modded one.
I wonder if this is a big car or not
You may as well have pumped it with diesel using supermarket fuel
😂
Fuel economy, engine mounts, driveshafts, flooded boot floors, careless owners, irregular servicing, I could go on. Great cars nonetheless
Will S21 and forever money pits
So many seem to be so neglected
Drive So Serious , my mate puts in £30, it does him about 100 miles if he’s lucky
Plus without a block mod which is a good fair few quid they are temperamental with the blocks going
A guy I work with has just done a rebuild because the block split. A vag 1.8t would do double that hp without touching the block
It’s a fun car? That’s all that’s needed, want a run in the mill boring Audi on finance with high servicing charges fire on. What a toys the st3 and the rs mk2 I’ve owned both. They drive and handle better than any bmw Audi or Volkswagen I’ve been in.
