If I could choose only one ultra luxe holiday in my life I would spend it in Soneva Fushi. There are more glamorous brands - Aman, Jumeirah, St. Regis or Velaa (btw the only Maledives ultra luxe you still haven't covered LTE) - and even within the Soneva brand there are more modern resorts like Jani or Kiri but my heart belongs to Fushi. It's just perfectly balanced plus I prefer larger islands to over-water villas. For me it's the best resort in the world. Thanks LTE for these videos, nobody comes even close to your quality.
There is the new Waldorf Astoria Maldives open now, villas look much better than these
@@FoodforThought12345678dsds "Better" is subjective, as I said there are certainly resorts that are more glamorous but I like this "back to the nature" style the best.

You don't have to spend thousands to have a great vacation though. Except if you're one of the few people staying in their room 24/7 there are so many things to explore.

Soneva Fushi just might be #2 on my top ten list (which prob. has about 30-40 LTE videos on it by now :) What a gorgeous setting and villa! Your filming skills certainly have evolved since the "old days" when you started making travel vids. But those old vids were enough to get me hooked on your channel and were better than 99.9 % of any other utube travel films. Now, no one can top you, even the "professional" videographers. Thanks for the continuing adventures, Dr. LTE.

Emirates now operate an A380 to Dubai from Glasgow, so it would be a fairly straightforward trip for me now. I'm thinking about it. Liked the music by the way.

I had jus got up this morning today Monday and I was here on RUclips reviewing videos ..This is so nice....I love the bathroom setting!!!! That sink with the wood base to it was so nice looking!!!! That master bedding so nice!!!The terrace over looking the pool area in is so nice....What a selective great stay at a great island resort!!!!!

Out of all of the different videos I have watched of the different resorts in Maldives I like One and Only Reethi Rah the Best.. followed by Park Hyatt. One and Only has everything.. lush/tropical grounds, fantastic beaches, high quality Luxe villas, and a village like resort grounds that house the beautiful restaurants, lounge, pool, and spa.. It truly is a Magical Island Resort. 🏖🏖🏖

Lovely place to spend a couple of days.
My childhood has been spent in a house at ground level with teak wood beams. We had 4 big trees of mango and coconut.
Maintaining such a place is a task. Such places have challenges of insects, mosquitoes & rodents. So it looks romantic for a while.
Can't afford to go to the Maldives but tomorrow I'm going to the beach in my own country (the Netherlands) and it's going to be 30 degrees (celsius, 86 degrees fahrenheit for Anglosaxons). :)
Even 38 degrees this Thursday ;-) ... Veel te warm :-)
I cannot believe how close to the beach you are! I could easily see myself falling to sleep on that sofa upon the balcony at night :3

I have a question---how do the staff get people to leave? Because if I had that villa, I would NOT be leaving of my own free will. The Welsh National Rugby team would have to be brought in to carry me out. It's simply too lovely there. No incentive to ever leave.

Not the most practical arrangement for sharing, top floor public & open and bathroom accessible to everyone? Can't even shut the kids out!! Not ok Soneva, never though I would say that!!
I know. I’m not into the “open to nature” bathrooms. For that matter I kept thinking about bugs and mosquitoes while watching. The netting on the beds gave me a clue of what it would be like at night.

poor design, the bedroom on the ground floor has prime view of the master bathroom...why?
That's what I was thinking, I didn't see a curtain or anything for privacy on the toilet :-\
