Mother AMAZED at the Transformation after the LANDLORD Left it a MESS - FREE OVERGROWN LAWN CLEANUP

- Today you will see me cut and edge a ladies overgrown lawn for FREE!
She just started renting this house and the landlord left the yard in really bad condition. There was lots trash, the edges were really overgrown, and the grass was getting pretty tall.
I talked to her for quite a while and she is currently recovering from a few surgeries and is also raising a few kids. She let me know that she wouldn’t be able to pay right away, but could get me money at the end of the week when she got her paycheck.
I told her not worry about it and that I would stop by and do the work free of charge.
This job was a quick one and only took me one evening and it turned out great!
There were parts of the sidewalk and curb that were falling apart, but I did the best that I could to get it back in shape for her and make it look nice.
I’m really happy that I was able to help her out and I am trying to give back as much as can to my community and make the yards look great.
As you can see in the thumbnail, this yard was REALLY dusty and I’m currently looking for a good dust mask to start using on yards like this.
I’ve tried some disposable and reusable ones but they either don’t work very well or are really uncomfortable.

You turned an uninhabitable slum-looking property that no one should rent into a neat and tidy home for a mother with children. Once again you have shown your caring heart. The fact that you do these projects for Free because you want to help people says an awful lot about you as a person, and how you were raised. I am Australian. I do not know Spencer (beyond his channel) or his family. So my opinion isn't biased. It's merely what I observe from watching his videos, listening to what he has to say, and also, knowing exactly what is required to run a business (not Lawn Care) in Australia.
Game Over - I respect your opinion but I believe you're approaching this (video and channel) in the wrong light. When you look at this video and the word "FREE" you immediately see: "thousands of dollars" pouring in from one single video and yet I see a selfless young man who genuinely wants to help others.
I'd imagine Spencer is the type of young man who would have discussed his free lawn care service at length with his family *before* he pulled the starter cord on his mower, and I'd also imagine his family would have said: That's a noble cause Spencer, but how are you going to pay for all this?
Whether Spencer earns $1 or "thousands of dollars" in revenue from this video and/or his YT channel is irrelevant. My question to you is: How else is Spencer going to fund his Free Lawn Care Service to his community, and the people who truly need it? How is he going to pay for his equipment? His mower? The gas for this truck? Fuel for the mower and line trimmer? How will he replace equipment or parts when they break down? Or wear out? How will he pay for insurance and registration for his vehicle? This young man works full time (he mentioned working for the tech industry) and he mows these lawns after putting in a full day's work.
I think Spencer is an intelligent young man because he was smart enough to understand that posting his lawn care videos on YT would help fund his Free Lawn Care Service for his community. Just my opinion. :-)
Well done! This mowing season, I've been helping my 89 year old father with his very large property, about 5 acres. In past years, I've done the mowing but we lost my mom this year. I turned the mowing over to him to keep him busy. At 69 years old, I took up the weedeating. YIKES! I've got lots of fencing, lots of trees & lots of house/outbuildings. I use an inexpensive Homelife trimmer & it's been tough on this sedentary old lady! I watch all the yard videos & have learned some great tips from all of you. Thank you for what you do!!

It’s unfortunate The landlord doesn’t care enough about his property to keep it properly maintained and to have a renter move in with it looking like that. I can only imagine what inside of the house looks like. Good job!
Of course if it was better kept the family might not be able to afford to live there. But Spencer just improved the neighborhood with his work. Made living in the house more enjoyable.
People are sometimes desperate for a proper place to live. Btdt. Ive lived in places like this and fixed them up. Landlord only had to buy supplies

Tim, the Lawnmower Man, I believe, from Australia has Asthma and so he purposefully wears a mask to protect himself and has one that he highly recommends. Glad the mom with kids was able to find a home to rent and you could improve the yard to make it welcoming. Nice moves to clean the stuff out of the fence and clean the curb accumulation. Looks good.
He’s also a firefighter so he knows about good protection.
Al Bladez was given by Tim one of those good masks. Maybe he should be reached out to, I think he knows where to order them.

Try a 3M N95 or any mask with an attached vent. The vent helps a lot with breathing. Also, after the poison ivy event, try to wear long sleeves & gloves.

You are living proof that one person can make a difference. Shame on the property owner who doesn’t appreciate being blessed with the ability to own a property to rent. Most people don’t have one to live in so they rent. Again here comes Spencer to help in any way he can. First you actually spoke to the lady and heard her situation. You took away the stress of the yard situation that was obviously weighing heavily on the lady and on top of that she has children and recovering from medical issues. I have learned that we can develop a tolerance for wearing a mask for hours while doing physical labor. Stick with it and you will adapt as your nervous system learns to ignore the unpleasant sensations. All the mask suggestions here are great. Keep up the great work but please protect your body inside and out!

I love that you have a grass catcher on your stand-up mower!! That has always been my biggest gripe against those big lawn tractors...they leave such a heavy layer of clippings, it's bad for the grass. But you have it solved with the clippings catcher. That yard looks so nice. New Sub

The physical property is responsibility of owner, perhaps now that neglect, disrepair and liability issues can be seen things will change quickly.
Tenant has ability to sue property owner (s) in event of injury(ies) and/harm from the negligence (depending on state laws.)
If nothing more, I would've expected neighbors to complain to city due to neglect prior.

I find it amazing that it took this young man to help this lady when none of the neighbors would. I use to cut my neighbors yard and it was 3 1/2 acres because he was disabled. Great job young man!

Awesome job. When I was a kid our parents made us do this type of work to help our elderly neighbors. Times have changed. We need to get back to helping and looking after others.

This reminds me of what I use to do as a kid helping family and the elderly friends of the family just doing the jobs for the gas money it took to do the yards

Growing up my grandfather took care of his grass this way. It was San Augustin grass. It had perfect edges an was so thick. We sold the house a few years after he passed away and the new owners took it out and put concrete in its place

If that is how the Landlord takes care of his properties, then that doesn't say alot for him..Renting property to people with garbage in the yard and grass not mowed, well there is a name for him....Slumlord.!!
