------------
In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.
This show is the literal interpretation of the phrase “Play Stupid Games, Win Stupid Prizes”
Yup as stupid as you and your comment
Yepp... this is in refrence to the taylor swift song right? Miss americana and the heart break prince
@@mohirashaikh3825Taylor swift DID NOT invent it. It was used all the way back in the 80's , predating the internet. Even basic research could tell you this.
@@xaviersavard6343 okay thanks for enlightening me .... I still like to think of it in reference to the taylor swift song 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️

Every time Paul Chowdhry says "innit," an angel gets its wings.
Bastard's crying, innit
I love him
Everytime he says it i'm 1 step closer to clicking away the video
Everytime Paul say "innit" Rob grows an extra tooth.
I would have thought every time he says innit a brit gets a cavity.
If only tree wizard had been there for the balloon popping event.
He would have taken ages!😂

Didn't tree wizard create balloons? That's the opposite of what this task needs!

Busy at comic relief i bet
Watching Rob dressed as a gran spraying water at Alex whilst laughing hysterically is both hilarious and disturbing
Lillian Fitts more of the latter I suppose
Honestly, the most surprising thing was how good he looked in the dress.
It was hard to tell if the laughing was him in character or if he actually did lose it.
It was a little like Norman Bates.
Edit: Just saw the end, guess Greg thought so too.
It surprised me how ugly he was as a woman, when I find him so attractive as a man.
Honestly, waiting in that shed to be surprised must have been legitimately terrifying on some level
You would think, but seeing how shit these guys were at surprising someone, maybe not. xD
Not to mention _terribly_ boring. I’m not sure how exactly they go about filming the tasks but I would assume that each contestant gets their own day or half day and do a couple tasks per day. (Most likely depending on location and what tasks have been scheduled.) So I at least highly doubt that he had to film all of those on one day. But, still, he did have to sit in that shed for 5 freaking hours. Though, I’m sure he kept himself busy, it’s still not a enviable position to be in.
Yes, but you can't keep your adrenaline levels up forever. Eventually they fall, so after an hour, I'd be like "Let's just get this over with." *yawn*
I think it's only truly terrifying if you're waiting for Rhod Gilbert.
I also thought this, but Alex is extremely weird.
2:40
"It is a lotta melon"
"It's a wotta melon"
Mitsuha I love him.
innit
“Melon, innit.”
I didn't even get that! Thanks for pointing it out. 😂
Paul’s gesture at around 2:50 is referencing breasts right? That made me laugh so hard 😂
"I said boxers and he misunderstood." Amazing. Completely forgot about that bit.
I also hadn't noticed that Pascoe had weighed down her snake box with some sort of rusty iron weight.
I mean I prefered that mostly naked men surprise to the previous one
The camera crew are surprisingly hot
every now and then the particulars of the British accent really screw you over I guess
The Brown Clown is Paul's entire run on the show encapsulated in one single moment.
Bastards cry in, innit
And he waited in the box for 45mins instead of getting in in the final minutes.
Innit.
We live in a society, innit?
He's one of my favourite contestants tho
"Mummy says we're good at puzzles" (19:16) had me burst out laughing :)
For some reason I had to watch that about 10 times
I mean they really were tho
Favorite line this series
Yup... Classic
Same! Best part of the whole shoe for me
*sprays water on a person with a pressure hose*
- I'm sorry, are you wet? 😂
That question might be a part of the surprise haha
"Alex you've been a bad boy!" continued with hysterical but also chilling laughters is one of my all time fave of Rob Becket.
And then Alex is tied up 😂
"I'm starting to think we shouldn't be laughing at Paul"
that phrase has sticked with me since, I can't tell if he's portraying a character or are we just bullies
He should definitely not be a comedian, that's for sure.

Why do people have to put spoiler comments about LATER seasons?
@@andrewreaney isn't really a "spoiler" kind of show, you can't really "spoil" a game show, there's no story or anything to spoil. God I love this show and I'm so glad there's a way for us Americans to watch it legally and support the creators. Hope other British panel shows take note.
They made a US version also. Not sure how good it is. Alex is still the sidekick on it. I saw him do an interview where he said its half the length of the UK version with 25 advert breaks!
@@chriswhamilton It's bad. The UK comedians do everything on here to be goofy and witty, whereas the American version has nobodies that act like fame hungry asses. Reggie Watts is pretty good Taskmaster though
@Kathleen Henson Hey thank you!
Taskmaster has its own channel and they upload episodes every week
@@elftax While I appreciate the insight, you're literally replying to a comment on that channel lol. I'm just expressing my happiness that they did so.
Should've surprised Alex by not even being there when he came out of the shed. Just go home and surprise him with how little you care.
Ok Gaming thats what i thought to
Clever, but sad 😓
Or block him in
There was an open padlock on the door.
Lock it.
I would have hid at the side and snuck into the shed after he opened it then been like "mate what are you doing out there it's cold"
“Melon innit?”
I got a noise complaint for how loud I guffawed when those words fell out his mouth.
This bastard was crying with laughter when Paul said that, innit.
8:45 The funny thing about Paul's attempt is not how bad it was, but the fact that he just stayed in the box for the full duration just for one scare.
Paul is like a hilarious hybrid of Sarah Milican's childlike clueless approach to genuinely everything and Romesh Ranganathan's Calm Before The Storm attitude (but then there's just no storm lol)
Well, 2 years later, good news, Sarah's gonna be on the next season
Alex has the best poker face. Especially on that team task - just standing there while they try to figure out what to do.
When Rob and Sarah walked into the room together for the team task I was thinking "my god they look like twin brother and sister" so I loved Greg pointing it out and them joking together about it
I am absolutely convinced they are Sharpay and Ryan from High School Musical

If James Acaster did the surprise task, he could have just said hello to Alex.
If Acaster did the Surprise Task, Rhod Gilbert would have also done the Surprise Task, and I really don't want to think about that one..

If the number on the weight is correct, Sara could have placed second if she agreed to have it weighed!
pretty good gag, too bad they didn't weigh it.
Came here to make this comment. Glad I checked before I TOO said "no one is taking about" 😅
She actually did nail that task. And it's not like they didn't have to lug it up there... 😂😂
@@grecomic because then they would know it isn't real
I'm still wondering if a shoebox full of pennies is heavier than a block of granite or concrete; censoring the shoebox and whether War & Peace is heavier (or dryer) than Al's heavy book? I would surprise Alex by greeting him very warmly with a good handshake and a smile, and giving some heartfelt compliments. Like that I appreciate the hard work he does and that I think he's a nice fellow. I bet that would surprise the shit out if him coming from any contestant.
Or by doing absolutely nothing, not being there at all. He just opens the shed to a bunch of quiet, normalness.
I would've blocked up the door lmao
"It's those slo-mo ones you're doin'" absolutely slayed me hahaha
Not 3 minutes in, and I'm having difficulty breathing after "Melon, innit?"
Rob's surprise actually brought me to tears in laughter.
the morse code balloons lmao it's 'debajo de la mesa' all over again
When Al said it looks like morse codr I instantly thought of Jon Richardson asking Alex if he knows what debajo de la mesa means haha
I wanna be friends with Rob Beckett, he laughs so easily, hanging out with him I'd feel like I'm Far funnier than I actually am
"I think that what I do is counteract Rob's level of enthusiasm which doesn't seem to be determined by what's happening...he's just relentlessly enthusiastic about whatever it is. He would approach a visit to Disney Land in the same way that he'd approach a visit to Guantanamo. He is equally positive about everything." -Romesh Ranganathan
"innit" -Paul
Rob and Sara are giving strong "older sister & younger brother ready to cause some mischief" vibes
Or: cousins who practiced French kissing with each other
I love that Al saw the morse code, and subconsciously reversed it somehow: He popped all but two instead of popping two!

Is Paul doing a character, or is he just a pathologically chill dude?
Yes.
He’s just Romesh without any amount of Anger

Brown sauce is a specific sauce, we do not have it in the US

I'm kind of sad nobody considered throwing a surprise party with cake for Alex. That would have been nice.
Finally! I thought I was the only one thinking the most surprising thing on taskmaster is someone being really nice to Alex, like Mike Wozniak. That was a big surprise this season. A party and present would have really weirded him out.

Am I the only one genuinely disappointed that nobody tried to decipher the morse code message? Bummer.
Al was the only one to even recognizing it looked sort of Morseian (I just made up a word).
Does anyone know what it even says?
edit: I didn't watch the episode the whole way thru before i commented lol
eri139 yeah they translated it at the end of the task. It said “pop only two and win,” basically they didn’t have to pop every single balloon there, they could have just popped 2 of them and been in 1st place.
Rivanni 39:43 - the translation quite literally reads “pop just two and win.”
@@Rivanni I can kinda read morse, and that is genuine morse. The colour difference marks the letter boundaries. The cards says "Pop the balloons, fastest win. Time starts when you pop your NEXT balloon". The card NEVER specifies you need to pop all of the balloons on the strings, so you can just pop the one that the card is in, pop one on the racks to start the time, pop another one, and say you're done to stop the time immediately.
I used to have a job running escape rooms and the way the teams acted when trying to free alex is literally EXACTLY how people act in escape rooms.

That escape room challenge looked like the most fun, but I'd have at least asked Alex if I could just dislocate his thumbs.
You freak
16:03 totally missed the opportunity to say “how many horns?” “Well, 5 if you really think about it” and I’ve never been so disappointed
well at least the end credits give credit for the taskmaster theme music to "the horne section", so that joke exists somewhere
Note to self: pick Team Creepy Twins - not Team Beard - if I ever have to do an escape room.
Greg: "Are you two siblings?"
Sarah: "Lord, I hope not, after what we've been up to."
Also, if Series 12 is anything to go by, pick the Smart But Ditzy parents instead of the Three Oblivious Kids
And based on Series 2 of Taskmaster NZ, pick Laura Daniel, not David Correos. 😃
