Sounds great. I was told this would be too tinny, but it's not at all . I have already done X Pipe and Secondary cat delete, so this will be next plus LTHs
Hey Chris, you got a nice car there. I have a 03 SL 55 AMG and for my exhaust system let me tell you what I done. Mine has 2 resonators and 2 mufflers I took everything off between the cats and the stock exhaust tips and bought 2 short flowmaster look a likes basically the same muffler as a flowmaster just genaric name and paid like $36 for the pair and a $120 at a muffler shop for the installation and it all took about 90 minutes to do and I still have all my stock exhaust system if I ever wanted to put it back stock. Well I can tell you I would never do it because it sounds so awesome just driving along you can't hardly tell its not stock exhaust but man when you stick your foot in it and that supercharger kicks in it sounds like someone just spent $2K on a exhaust system. I get so many compliments from people it sounds so awesome it sounds like a BEAST it's so funny you see people looking all around trying to see were that awesome sounding car is it's like they don't believe that just came out of a mercedes benz and all for a little over $200 bucks
thanks for the idea.. was looking into c63 mufflers but yeah they want too much money for it..i had straight pipes when i purchased the car and it was just too loud.. purchased the stock mufflers and after i put them on the car was just too quiet. might just try this method out for next summer
Well no shit Sherlock. Where did I sate a supercharger was attached to the exhaust? AMG V8's came both naturally aspirated and Supercharged and even Turbo charged. All I was saying was no matter what version, their V8's sound good. Next time you wanna critique someone on the Interfizzle, maybe reread before you stick your foot in your yap......@@kacper.6537
It's the internal design of the stock mufflers that are the problem, if they were more straight through with perforated pipe and the fiberglass packing that would give a deeper mellower tone, with just the packing removed they sound somewhat restricted, but with a hollow rattly tone, reminiscent of flowmaster 40 series mufflers.
Well, it's literally almost a year to the day that you did this mod. Any updates for us as to how it's worked out for you and/or any thoughts about going louder, or even quieter for that matter?
Thanks for the idea. This is definitely for people like me who don't intend to do a muffler delete but want more grunt from the stock ones but not too loud as the muffler delete. I will try this on my e55.
@@RomainBads Hi yes I did modify the muffler like you did but sold the car now. The new owner was stoked during the test drive and paid my asking price. Thanks!
Great videos, bro shout all the way from the Bahamas…. Quick question, when you upgrade your exhaust pipes, do have to do anything with the o2 sensors?
Am I correct when I believe I noticed NH plates, I’m up north NH, I just picked up a w220 s55 so I am looking for a Fellow AMG guy who may have some knowledge. I have a few m113 211s and have been wrenching for a while.
Way to go. Long tube headers, x pipe, gutted mufflers is my set up. Nice car
Man your content is straight 🔥 and thanks for the E55 video. I’m debating between an E55 and a CL 550 with some minor mods.
Lmao thanks Dr now
SOUNDS MUCH BETTER !! GREAT JOB CHRIS !! JESSE VIA LAS VEGAS
Clean 55, nice vid and garage set up.
Thanks 👍

Video ??
Love it! I have an identical 2005 and I’m looking for some catted long tubes (smog state) and I’m for sure going to try this mod!
Great end result 👍🏼
This was a great video 👍🏻
Thanks Chris! Beautiful car.
Thanks!
it ended up just like c63 mufflers probably better good job dude
down the rabbit hole on YT and didnt know you had an e55 as well.

The Mercedes sounds 1,000 without all that insulation & it looks amazing for a 17 year old Mercedes !
All older AMG V8's all sound really good whether they are N/A or Supercharged.
A supercharger doesnt change exhaust note since its not connected to the exhaust

No cats is why it sounds good

Thanks for the content mate, well done, perfect guide :)
No problem!
Great video love it just subscribe hope more videos are coming
More to come!
Sounds good for a daily
PERFECT sound!!!

Did you do it? like it?
Re-up, did u do ?

That fiberglass is the itchiest crap I've dealt with in a long time.
It really is. Definitely important to wear gloves
Sounds great, I might just do this....
Your E55 looks great. What wheels do you have? they fit very well...
Hope you post more e55 content... subbed.
More content coming. Will be refinishing my calipers in the next few weeks
Great videos, bro shout all the way from the Bahamas…. Quick question, when you upgrade your exhaust pipes, do have to do anything with the o2 sensors?
Nice video! It’s harder to make the E55 sound really great compared to the NA m156. I am from Mass. let me know if you want to make a video together.
Yes it is. The lower compression doesnt make as aggresive of a sound as the m156, but ill take it for the supercharger lol
Why did you decide to go with x pipe over h pipe on benz's? Btw I have c63 mufflers and they are incredibly muffled, nice but very restrictive.
I want one of these so bad
Such solid cars for the money
Hi chris i have 03 E 500 did cat delete do you have check engine light on? Nice 55.
What wheels r those
Yeah a little loud without any mufflers haha 😆
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼💪💪💪#merenbos
What will cause drone ?
Can you tell me what mods you have on your E55? Just bought a 2006 E55 with 99k miles, needs more power. Thanks
Longtubes, 77mm pulley, heat exchanger and a tune. Shes quick!
very nice! what size tires you running in the back?
225 /25R20 if i recall correctly
Bald one 🥲🤣
How do you get away with no cats with the computer?
hi mate quick question how did u get ur parking sensors to fit in the e63 front bumper ? thanks
Hot glue lol. Works great

Nice! Im right in Portsmouth
How many decibel ?
Nice car Chris , i have e55 with kleemann headers , kooks cats and xpipe.. I still get bad exhaust smell, what do you recommend?
Do you have any exhaust leaks? I have no cats and i never notice exhaust smell in the car
@@ChrisSullivan69 not that i know of , i will have mechanic check thank you
@@dommea3229 Are your cats removed?
@@emiliobruh7485 I took off original stock cats put kooks sport cats on car
which one wheel model and brand bro , nice one ☝🏻
Vossen 20". Honestly dont remember the model I bought them locally a couple years back
And i think he did not have it on sport mode
Why not cut them out and weld in short straight through glass packs?
considered doing that. Wanted to try this as a quick and easy project first
Hey what brand is your lift I’m looking for one similar
Universalift 2
Heard these were more reliable than the 63's? True?
Yes, "simpler" engine than the 63
Yes. M113K motors are almost bulletproof. None of the head bolt issues or cam issues that plagued the C63 M156 engines
Yesss!
My s55 is completely straight piped except for the primary cats and it kinda sound like a truck when I’m not on the gas. Any suggestions?
Add mufflers
It's perforated pipes, not preforated pipes.
You should change your oil pump gears
I've heard that makes no difference, only changing to a different style of gear all together or a different oil will help. True?
You look like Jiří Procházka
It's perforated pipes, not perforated.
