💙💛🇫🇷 Carolinae 👍😄 あきらめない
Ещё бы 20 лет назад матч показали!!🤣🌺🤣
Nice point! 👍
Okay, I don't understand...
1) On shot #5, why did she smash it right back to her opponent, instead of hitting it straight ahead, way to the right of her opponent?
2) On shot #10, why did she hit it to her opponent, which set up the winning shot, when she could have hit it to the left and winning the point?
Sorry for the somewhat rhetorical questions, and no, I'm not a skilled tennis player.
i'm not in garcia's head and i'm definitely not garcia but sometimes in tennis players go back to the spot where they hit their previous shot because opponents run straight to the other side expecting the ball to be there, and so going back would make the opponent unable to return the shot. i'm guessing that she went back because she thought that her opponent was going to run to the other side, if that makes sense
Adding to An Tran, another reason why she could have gone cross court instead of down the line is that she felt she has a better margin for error.
Especially at a high level of play you don't have much time to get prepared for the ball so it's sometimes best to stick with your initial plan (even if you know your opponent isn't in the court position that you expected). Because you'll move based on where you plan to hit the ball.
Essentially she might just be in a bad posture to hit down the line. Again I'm not Garcia either but I think that this is often the case when players don't hit into an open court. They've already committed their footwork and swing path to hitting somewhere and if they aim somewhere else the shot will be less efficient/lower quality.
I hope that makes sense.
@@DjokovicIsOurLordAndSaviour true, didn't think about that
