Only problem with not meeting at your home is if you're selling something not easy to transport around, such as a complete dumbbell set with stand. No choice but to have them come to your house. I can see how this is less than ideal from a safety standpoint, but think about it, lots of people have garage sales, and generally don't get mugged in the process. If you're authorized to carry a concealed handgun, this would be a good time to do that, and most states don't even require a license to carry a handgun concealed while you're on your own property.

Hey, thanks for the information as I'm a newbie at this. But I didn't know it was NOT necessary to put my phone number as it looked like we were supposed to fill in all the boxes. Well, I did. So, is there a way to go back and take it out??
You should be able to go back in and edit your post. If that's not the case, we recommend deleting the post and then reposting it.
What about selling several items that are the same? Do you do multiple posts or do you keep using the same post?

Good question! Selling something like a couch or a piano can be tricky.
Here are a few things you can do:
Meet during daylight hours.
Have a friend or two with you during the sale.
Move the item outside of your home so the buyer can't see what else you own; however, this may be easier said than done.
Only accept cash payments.
Finally, always trust your gut, and if something feels off, call the deal off.

I'm selling a dresser on their, it's my first time selling, and I got one response and I'm pretty sure it's a scam.
I have found that if it feels like it scam then it is. I just move on to the next (delete). It is better to not sell something than it is to have a problem. I always had people come to my place of business which made us both feel better. To date I only have one I item I could not sell out of maybe 50 expensive items. Two tips, price it right and be ready to bargin. It is a great way to sell if you have a safe environment to show your item. In your case it could be someone just wanted to see what you had that they could come back later to get (for free).

I typically sell on Ebay but I'm trying to move towards selling craigslist. However, the items I sell usually sell in the $600+ range and is mostly oscillators/source meters.
