I never asked my parents permission before going online... Ever.
Who really asked their parent before for going online at this time when you seeing that you will mostly ask your parent for buy a computer lol
When i was young my parents didn't care if it was something related to BIONICLE, just as long as they saw me happy
You mad man!
Online was the wild west back then. :)
I hope you know that I'm calling the police...
The fact that they made 3 Bionicle movies and never made a movie about the Inika/Mahri will always make me sad. I grew up with Bionicle and the Inika/Mahri lines were the peak of Bionicle to me.
My guess is that the time/money for it went to the videogame instead
Oh my God I just now realized since the 4th movie is about the Bara Magna Gladiators, they skipped the Inika. The first movie starred the original Toa, while the 2nd & 3rd movies are about the second crew of Toa. Damn, poor Inika/Mahri.
I never really liked the Inika models, but the Mahri ones were awesome AF. I liked the Inika/Mahri because they had one of the better/darker/more mature storylines and it was really cool to see the Matoran from the Mata days become Toa in their own right.

NEW Inaka Heroes
From BIONICLE
Each Set Is Sold Separately.
I lost my mind when this commercial first aired. I remember saving my allowance and buying all six at once. I think my favorite was Nuparu, he had a very heavy metal like design, his sword doubles as a gun, and a black and red color scheme is always badass.
Plus he had the honor of being a Toa of Earth that had the ability to _fly._
Matoro will always be badass in his videos
Rip matoro he will forever be mist!
Matoro; from a bumbling, aloof Matoran...
To a Toa Inika (he's front and center in this commercial, badass)
Ultimately making a sacrifice that made him a Legend to many.
It also helps he was chosen by his god when he was a translating mataron.
In his words, “I’ll take it from here”
And he did
the a true hero. he didn't give his life to save another. he gave his life to save his god's life.
Yeah.... he was my favorite
fallen Toa, We salute you!
The Inika as characters were my favorite Toa team. They earned their places through their deeds as Matoran. They didn't go on most of their adventures (with the exception of things like Mask of Light) because someone handed them a map or told them it was their destiny, but because no one else could and it was the right thing to do. The "it's what you do with your power that matters" really applies to these characters.
totally, i was so darn proud of them (Jaller and Hahli especially) when I heard they became toa back in 06.
@@EclipseHedgehog Dude finally got to join his bro Takua in the big leagues
Kind of makes them more badass that they went to Voya as matoran chasing down the Piraka until the Red Star blasted them all right along the shores of Voya Nui. What kind of hardass matorans does one have to be to get in the canister and do THAT?
They were also objectively the single most competent Toa team and had the easiest time working together. Probably helped that they had been friends and professional associates for years before they became Toa, instead of being 6 random assholes thrown together because “Destiny” or a group of amnesiacs who were handed weapons and told to save the world like a Bethesda protagonist.
They spent a thousand years on Mata Nui already working together, fighting back Teridax and his Rahi beasts without the help of Toa. Any drama or infighting, they managed that crap a millennium before they became the Inika/Mahri. No one was more worthy of the mantle than these six.
At 0:12 you can see Matoro's Energised Ice Sword has the _Do Not Dispose_ symbol on it, just like the actual toy.
That's the kinda detail we couldn't have noticed otherwise.
I actually noticed that detail in mr edgy'HD INIKA commercial a while ago. That's one of the things that inspired me to make the enhanced trailers.
or if you dispose it It could explode like enegersed protodermis

The Inika used the power of rock to defeat the Piraka’s rap music.
Pfffffftttt 😂😂😂
Virgin rap villian music vs chad rock heroic music
If youtube ADs were just the 2000s bionicle commercials every 5-6 videos, I'd turn off AD block.
Bro the Piraka and Toa Inika sets were absolutely REVOLUTIONARY. The versatility of the action figures was groundbreaking. Enhanced range of movement from the ball-in-socket joints, more humanoid postures, and the fact that this blueprint was used for all the new sets to come, unlike the Toa Nuva, Metru, and Hordika. The Inika/Mahri is where Bionicle most definitely peaked, with the Phantoka/Mistika following suit. And good golly, the STORYTELLING. I loved the way the Piraka/Barraki were illustrated. When it was revealed that the Piraka hailed a from brutish, barbaric race, and the Barraki where THE MOST savage, power-hungry, and violent warlords cursed to live underwater for the rest of their lives, it made them just THAT more damn terrifying. God, 'twas the time be a child with a brimming imagination. Damn. These commercials were the icing on the cake.
Not to mention the 6 were once Matoran who witnessed the heroics of the Toa who protected them, and now they become heroes themselves.
Disagree. The Inika look badass, don’t get me wrong, but no gears. The Toa Metru were the perfect balance of posability mixed with play function, and replacing the weapon swing with projectiles that you lose immediately in all future toa lines was a disappointment to me as a kid.
Collectors these days just put them on a shelf, so as long as they look cool no one cares. But as a kid back in the day, Metru and Nuva were the best Toa for battling.
I guess it just depends on when you personally were first introduced to Bionicle. If Inika was your first set, then you probably loved them as a kid. A bad Bionicle set, at the end of the day, is still a Bionicle set. Unless it had lime joints then you’re out of luck. The Inika were by no means bad sets, but they were far from the best.
@@epsilon6516 my first two sets were Turaga Onewa and a Nuhvok, so yes I was here from the start! I really liked the freedom that came with abandoning the gears. I don't hate the gears, it added a more robotic aesthetic while still keeping the that empathetic aspect, similar to Transformers (just saw Rise of the Beasts it was awesome). My one gripe with the Inika sets was their heads and masks. Every mask and head left room for some measure of interchangeablity up until those, then they just made it weird. E.g., I would have loved to used Nuparu's on other builds but it just didn't blend right. Other than that, I loved the Inika the most. At the same time I see and appreciate your perspective as well!
@@KingGresh that's fair. For me to this day spinning those gears is so satisfying, I have the original six toa on my desk and every now and then I pick one up and spin it around. Good times.
@@epsilon6516 That's awesome, I wish I had all 6 of a team myself, local toy stores and Walmart only ever seemed to carry the same three or four.

For some reason I always felt like Matoro had something special about him and I was right, he was a very special character.
The first time I read about his sacrifice, I cried a bit (it sounds silly, I am aware of that) but he has become one of the greatest role models for me, for his determination in doing everything to save those he cared for, even if sacrificing himself was the price to achieve this goal, a price he paid with no hesitation nor fear, saving his friends and the Matoran Universe.

It wasn’t just the toys there was a whole story behind them and what’s even cooler is jaller went from being a Matoran to a Toa

Man, Bionicle was just the best...
I love LEGO Star Wars and other themes, but Bionicle, to me, is always going to be THE theme that defines the creativity of LEGO. I've seen some people mentioning the lore, and it's funny, because i still love all of it. The books were surprisingly well written, considering that LEGO could have just had Greg Farshety phone it in. However, they actually took the time to craft narratives and characters that you became invested in because you genuinely enjoyed spending the time in their world. It wasn't dependent on nostalgia, it didn't force you to like certain characters over others, there were moments of failure and moments of hard fought triumphs. It's actually kind of incredible that a toy line, started all the way back in 1999, has a better story and richer lore than most modern storytelling mediums.
Andrew Hoffman - Yeah, I used to read those novels all the times as a kid. Now I feel kind of bad for the teachers who always had to grade my book reports. Lol.
