Our friends over at www.razorbackusa.com/ asked us to make an install video and said ABSOLUTELY! Want something like this for your product? Contact us at SXSBlog.com@gmail.com
Other manufactures need to pay attention and give you guys more stuff, only reason I bought one of these for my yxz is because of your videos, and still recommend it anytime someone asks me about it when they see it
Just installed my 3rd Razorback. Followed your advise on the step drill - love how clean it cuts. You mentioned 2.5 inches in from the edge of the cover. I measured 6 times (measure six - drill once) and the right center of the belt was at 2.75 inches in. Center of the belt was 2 5/8 inches in. Not a big difference, but good for everyone to measure their own machine just to be sure.
Dude this is so funny. We just replaced the inner cover on my X3 and Doug measured 2.75" and I said "dude, wasn't it 2.5"?" LOL I guess we were wrong in this vid.
if you pull the next panel up on the tunnel (the one to the left of the passengers legs) you'll see that the tray you drilled into to run the wires doesn't actually go all the way to the wall of the tunnel. There is actually a space above that tray, and you can feed wires through above the tray from the tunnel without drilling holes. I have my Rugged Radios kit mounted up there and have all my wiring fed through there to the headsets and PTT with out drilling any wires. The two wires for the Razorback should fit in there without any issue.
Yeah man it's the slickest distribution block we've come across in the SXS game. We got some other accessories coming and wiring is going to be easy peazy. Thanks for watching!
Bought one of these solely because of your videos, plus to promote SXSBlog. They are great and hope you guys get the opportunity to get more items to try. If Nick blames Doug for things that break, who does he blame for when he bought a Wildcat??? Lol
i think i'm going to have to get one of those. i'm still new to the sxs world and i've been hearing alot about belts being the weak points in them. be great to monitor temps
The Razorback technology gauge doesn't work with my Turbo on my yxz1000r. Because it uses the purge valve for air do they have one that set up were the intercooler is not in the way
Hey Howard, I don't fully understand your issue. Send us an email and I can forward it to the R&D guys at Razorback. I'm sure they will be able to point you in the right direction. SXSBlog.com@gmail.com. Thanks!!
If everyone installed everything on the wiring block it would be surely overloaded. You should plan on installing auxiliary fuse blocks with 6 Gauge coming from battery. Also save the whole spaghetti mess coming down the tunnel.
Is there enough length in the sensor wire to reach from the top left corner of the gauge cluster down the center of the dash threw the tunnel and back to the cover on an x3 max ?
Here's a tip. Cut that plastic by the handle to move ur seat. Then u can take seat in and out. With just the four bolts. U don't have to take all the set brackets out.
Don't cut the seat. The rubber tip on the seat adjuster slides off by pulling the top of the piece towards the front the vehicle and down. Loosen the four bolts, then rotate the seat and slide it overt the handle of the seat adjuster. To be honest though, just as easy to remove the 4 bolts they did than to remove the seat bolts. And you have to be easy on those, they are pretty easy to cross thread, and in reality, need to be cleaned and re-locked with thread locker of some type if you want to do it right.
Awesome bit of kit and a nicely put together video. Would so love to have this but shipping kills me everytime. I tried to purchase a steering wheel for my RZR a while back with boss. Shipping was $220. Completely bonkers when shipping is so much to get something so small to the UK
There will be some sort of import fee, this depends on the declared value of the parcel. Shipping @ $50 doesn't seem to harsh. Just goes to show that some companys aren't willing to go the extra mile and just nail people with horrendous shipping
Just checked with Customs. So the gauge is $299 + $50 for shipping . But unless it is declared a gift with a value of less than $177 and not sent from a company, I get charged VAT @ 20% on the $299 + the $50. So another $70 on top. Making it a tad over $400 for a temp gauge. WHich even with a discount from the guys at Razorback makes this a bit uneconomical. Which really sucks, as it looks like a great bit of kit
For those that ride in more water, is there a better way to ensure that this gauge doesn't leak water into the belt housing? Just use Hi Temp Silicone on the washers?
Shit, got me waiting for 2min after the video is over... like a Marvel comic sneak peek trailer is going to pop up or something. Nope just a black screen 😧 so disappointing
The clutches have fins on them to move air through the cover far beyond what most high flow fans can do. For example the team clutch'd Wildcats will flow 240cfm at 7000rpm via just the clutch fins. I've heard (but not seen measured values) that the X3 flows much more than that. Despite the air flow the belts can still be overheated. The gauge is there to keep your driving in check so you're not stuck cleaning a hundred thousand belt chunks out of the clutches.
Three hundred dollars for just the gauge ........... Yeah I can get 3 belts for that price . Sorry but that's a lot of scratch for a temp gauge . Might not seem like it to you but it is.
Doug, not to get into your chilly but during your whole install of the gauge you FAIL to mention what it says in the book that comes with the gauge!!! Under WARNINGS, I won’t go through it all here but I do think you need to tell people, not to use ZIP ties!!! And to keep the wire to the gauge away from any other wires that could possibly interfere with the proper readings of the gauge itself!!! PLEASE DON’T GIVE OUT BAD INFO!!!! But I still LOVE you guys!!!! All the way from the Philippines JD!!!!Thanks guys
This is a real world install video. The provided signal wire is well shielded and this routing has no issues with any sort of EMI, nor have we seen that issue on any razorback install we've done. There is also nothing wrong with zip ties if installed with an ounce of common sense. We build thousands of high end cars / trucks every day using them to constrain wires, both signal and power.
Our friends over at www.razorbackusa.com/ asked us to make an install video and said ABSOLUTELY! Want something like this for your product? Contact us at SXSBlog.com@gmail.com
Having a friend like Doug is priceless man. All those hours of labor and work on the machines and not paying $75/hour labor. Doug's the man!
Y’all have gotten real good at making me spend money. Can’t wait to watch this video!
An excellent video, as always. I saw one of the X3s at my local dealer a couple of weeks ago-awesome machine. I look forward to more!
One more note...what kind of jack hole “dislikes” a video like this?
Especially within 3 hours of it being posted. wtf
4 years later and I'm referencing this vid to install one into my X3. Legends!
Other manufactures need to pay attention and give you guys more stuff, only reason I bought one of these for my yxz is because of your videos, and still recommend it anytime someone asks me about it when they see it
Hell yeah Cody glad to hear it. We love Razorback and we appreciate you recommending them. They make some awesome stuff.
SXSBlog.com great products backed by even better customer service that is better than any I've ever experienced
Cody this might be a stupid question but why would you need one of these for Yamaha I thought they didn't have belts?
Daniel Matzendacher you're right but they also make a water temp gauge for the yxzs and that's what I have
Just installed my 3rd Razorback. Followed your advise on the step drill - love how clean it cuts.

@@SXSBlog can you add a popup message in the video at that time to correct it for those that might not see the comments please?
@FFL3801 Thank you so much for confirming this.
Just back from a 200 mile ride. Unwinding with some brewskis and SXS vlogs on the big screen.

Nice! Thanks for the tip! Doug you owe me a new X3.
Hahaha, poor Doug
Thanks for detail explanation. Please make movie with handbrake installation in X3!
That time lapse was on point! The three thumbs down are from people who dont know where a harbor freight is.
Just did my 3.1 dimmable on my x3 and this was a helpful videos. Keep it up
Good vid. I couldn’t figure out where to wire accessories so I learned where the accessories block is. Glad you got an x3.
Yeah man it's the slickest distribution block we've come across in the SXS game. We got some other accessories coming and wiring is going to be easy peazy. Thanks for watching!

Hahhaahha man Doug was with me right when I got my first 2012 Wildcat. He said it was slow. And boy was it. haha
I have orderd one from you today.
It will help me to keep my belt safe
Looking forward to seeing the X3 in action.
I’m here in Disney world with the kids and woman. Kids, back off for a little. SXSBLOG has uploaded a video.
Love watching your guys videos.
Doug making it look easy and rocking that powerful ginger beard.
Another reference to "Hatfield McCoy".......I'll buy a gauge if we get the West V.A. trip video ;-)
It's comin buddy. Got a lot on my plate right now!
I know, just giving you guys a hard time. Congrats on 7k!!!
Thanks man! I am not trying to be too serious as well lol
This should be a standard item on all of them.
Just like coolant temp, and oil pressure.
I believe boost pressure as well
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that shops at Harbor Freight.
Doug's neighbors have got to hate him.... between the drag races in the back yard to ripping up and down the street lol
You should have been there when we shot the old Wildcat exhaust with an AR15. lolol
My favorite part is @ 19:41 all the way to 23:42 ;)
Wow!! Another great video!! Keep em comin!!
Lmao......we all know without Doug none of the machine's would even be running. Good job guys
Very good job here. Made it look easy which it’s not for me at least. Question. Did you have to remove wheel to get clutch cover off? Subbed.
Hatfield McCoy trail video? Lol I couldn't resist.
Dude I am literally getting sick to my stomach thinking about editing it. So. Many. Angles. lol
i think i'm going to have to get one of those. i'm still new to the sxs world and i've been hearing alot about belts being the weak points in them. be great to monitor temps
Pretty much the only way to do it right.

Where have you guys been!!! Been anxiously waiting for Hatfield and McCoy also what happened at the 250???
It's allllllllllllll coming soon bro.
Is there enough length in the sensor wire to reach from the top left corner of the gauge cluster down the center of the dash threw the tunnel and back to the cover on an x3 max ?
There is if you get the one with the 15' harness! We sell em!
What does Doug think about the new yamaha sxs
Here's a tip. Cut that plastic by the handle to move ur seat. Then u can take seat in and out. With just the four bolts. U don't have to take all the set brackets out.

Great Video,I hope it installs on my pro xp that easy.Of course Doug always makes it look easy!

Ill get with Razorback to see what can be done about shipping...
Many thanks. Must admit, you now have me looking at X3's now. But to be fair I'm really more than happy with my 900XP.
Are you paying some sort of import fee Mark? Shipping to the UK should be under 50USD.....
There will be some sort of import fee, this depends on the declared value of the parcel. Shipping @ $50 doesn't seem to harsh. Just goes to show that some companys aren't willing to go the extra mile and just nail people with horrendous shipping

Looking forward to the "possibility" of the '19 DCT X3. No more belts.
Man I wish my Maverick 1000 had that key power post. And about 100 less push pins.
PUSHPINPUSHPINPUSHPINPUSHPIN
For those that ride in more water, is there a better way to ensure that this gauge doesn't leak water into the belt housing? Just use Hi Temp Silicone on the washers?
Yes! We have been using a little silicone in the cover when we install them, works great. Just be careful not to get it on the end of the sensor.
I can't be sure but that thing seems to have at least a little bit more power than the Wildcat.....:)
Naaaa lol
Doug is a bad ass
Are those some CST sand blast tires that i see in the back ground?
Yep, 32s that Doug's brother runs on his X3. Those things are awesome for the price.
Yeah, i run 28s on my xp1k
Shit, got me waiting for 2min after the video is over... like a Marvel comic sneak peek trailer is going to pop up or something. Nope just a black screen 😧 so disappointing
Total editing snafu. My apologies brother. hahahahha
SXSBlog.com liar! You did it to fuck with us 👊😂
hahahah DID NOT BRO! Notice the video length is the same as the last Tonopah 250 video. Not sure what happened.
Was waiting for a blooper reel at the end or something. Lol
Haha, me too, I clicked through all of it.
Why dont they just make a clutch cover that has fans on it that way it will cool the belt
The clutches have fins on them to move air through the cover far beyond what most high flow fans can do. For example the team clutch'd Wildcats will flow 240cfm at 7000rpm via just the clutch fins. I've heard (but not seen measured values) that the X3 flows much more than that.

Need a 'How to make a nice stiff drink' vid. Vodka, Whiskey, Rum... whatever
Where u guys ride in wv
I am trying to add the code, but it isn't working...
Thanks for letting me know Chris. I believe the code will be live in the AM or late tonight. I may have been early on the video.
It should be working now Chris.
Need to paint that bracket black.....other than that looks nice.
Literally didn't even have time for the paint to dry. I intend on doing a crinkle coat black.
Where do I hook up my boost gauge.
Neil
Get yourself an Evo charge tube set from sxsblogparts.com and there is an extra port to hook up a boost gauge.
I really wish I had a Doug.
More videos!
do the neighbors hate you or do they have sxs blog stickers on their cars?
Somewhere in the middle I think? lol
Hell yeahhh brother!!!
Hey now I say how muddy that x3 was Where is the ride videos lol
Believe it or not that's from Doug's back yard hahaha
👍great video guys
Cool products
still as dirty as the wild cat lmao
You're not wrong
Three hundred dollars for just the gauge ........... Yeah I can get 3 belts for that price . Sorry but that's a lot of scratch for a temp gauge . Might not seem like it to you but it is.
We sell em for way less than $300, and we'd rather spend the money up front as opposed to screwin up a ride!
