Can the Treasures wife be on the board? Who makes up for the board? ie trustees Secretary, Pastor? At our small church we have what they call a financial committee made up of seven members which I believe the pastor calls that our board.
Im being asked to be part of the Board of Trustee for a church. I fear liability. How risky is it to be a board member for a church? Specially if you do not attend the church and your role will be mostly silent.
The purpose of being on a board and having that structure is to protect the individual church members along WITH the board members as well. So you are safe to accept that offer but always be mindful of things like the minutes as well as Bylaws so you always have your own understanding sharp.
