Met Super Mario for the first time over 10 yrs ago on Allure of the Seas. Such a pleasant person and always willing to give cruising tips ! Great interview!
This is the 2nd interview with Mario that I’ve seen the other at least 3 years ago, if only I had the 80K a year to be able to cruise full-time too , though I think I’d struggle in an inside cabin I’d have to get an balcany cabin but g There’s more money I simply don’t have if only………🏝️ David Young 39 Brisbane Australia
Lots of useful information. I always cruise in an inside cabin and use the extra money, that I saved on the cruise price, doing other things on the ship.
I was on a ship many years ago which had a fire. I was in an inside cabin. I learned my lesson. In a balcony cabin at least you have a second way out. Also, covid has taught me that is is important to be able to get fresh air into the room. So I would never get an inside cabin.
It is great that cruises from our beautiful Australia are smoke free in rooms, casinos and public areas however there are designated areas for smokers, so technically Mario is incorrect.
Thank you for the suggestion, we do carry travel insurance, and everyone needs to find the right insurance plan for their needs. I’ll talk to Mike about it and see if potentially that could be a video in the future.
We needed a full Chinese visa in 2008. Thankfully, some EU countries do not require visas for China now. I'm glad I have an Irish passport. Very few visas required worldwide.
We’re not insurance agents and can’t really give advice on this. We would encourage you to speak with your local travel agent as well as doing research regarding insurance that fits your needs.
Loving it all so far. I never thought about all of the visas and insurances needed for this long trip. I would love to see a video of overall expenses for everything.
You can smoke on a ship in australian waters iv just been on a cruise last week so not sure what he is on about….designated areas on deck obv not inside or in casinos…
I was thinking of most countries besides the United States medical treatment is much much less expensive. Why would you want to be evacuated back to United States to be charged extreme amount?
Just a point about the smoking on ships in Australia there are designated smoking areas on the ships but smoking has been prohibited in in door spaces.
Thanks so much for doing this video. We are actively planning for the world cruise with Royal. I have been planning for about 3 years now and was really excited to see that Royal is doing them. We are loyal to Royal.
Smoking is permitted in designated outdoor areas when RCI ships are in Australian and New Zealand waters. Smoking is not permitted inside the ship or in the Casino while in their waters.
Very helpful information. Love Mario. I too prefer an inside or window stateroom for repeat trips to the same location to help take into account cost, location on the ship, noise, and seas. We have had a few trips in which the wind shook the balcony doors so much, it was hard to sleep. I also had a balcony door that whistled on and off depending on the breeze. The white noise machine app can be a big help. Thanks and I enjoy your channel.
I hope you two are checking the Dept of State (US) for safety briefings about specific countries. I enjoy your channel but worry for the safety of your entire ship..😮
Believe me, we as well as Royal Caribbean are keeping an eye on what is happening in the world. Royal Caribbean will do their best to keep all of us safe.
I'm just curious, since he's on a ship for 50 weeks a year, why does he even need a car? I'm assuming he has to pay a fee to leave his car at the cruise terminal or does he leave it at his condo for free? By any chance, did you talk to him about that? Thank you.
Good question. Umm I wonder if he leaves it in his parking space at his condo. Probably better than paying for parking at the cruise terminal. He can uber/lyft from the ship to the condo. He's probably paying enough dues at the condo and it includes the parking. Love this interview with Super Mario. Good luck on your world cruise.
Just found this If I would do this I link I would do 9 months I need family. Maybe off ship Thanksgiving till Mardi Gras I would do Europe summer to avoid weather
People say living on a cruise ship is cheaper than a retirement home. Well if you can live on a cruise ship you don't need to live in a retirement home. 😂😂😂🙄🙄🙄 my mortgage is $250 per month, $3000 per year. He said he's paying $80,000 a year to live on a ship.
We went on Quantum of the seas on 6th Dec from Brisbane Aus to Sydney Aus and the ship has a smoking section so don't understand what Mario was talking about no smoking in Australia
Maybe because he can just walk out of the door for an ocean view, walk to the promenade or other areas of the ship to look at the ocean. It sounds like since he’s in the room very little time. He doesn’t even need an ocean view.
Very nice interview. Such an interesting lifestyle choice. I wouldn’t take eating and health tips from a person who prioritizes smoking over seeing a place, but he gave great advice otherwise. We are loving watching your world adventure
To be fair, he did use the word "addicted" so he was really just giving a warning to those who would really suffer if they were surprised with 2 weeks where they couldn't smoke onboard. It's just about hearing what someone else does who has first hand knowledge of the lifestyle. He acknowledged right away that everything is so personal.
Love that he starts out by saying everyone has their own style. No one right way!
I met Super Mario on Symphony in 2021 as cruising reopened. He is a great guy.
He really is a nice man.
We just returned from 2 week cruise in Australia & New Zealand and there were many people smoking every single day

he's so awesome i met him onthe Enchantment of the seas way back.
She really is a nice man.
Lots of useful information.
I always cruise in an inside cabin and use the extra money, that I saved on the cruise price, doing other things on the ship.
Yes! That’s an excellent plan.
You met Super Mario. He s a celebrity. Keep inspiring.
And he's the nicest guy you'll ever meet really he is super

Interesting. Thanks
It is great that cruises from our beautiful Australia are smoke free in rooms, casinos and public areas however there are designated areas for smokers, so technically Mario is incorrect.
We were wondering that
When we cruised NZ & AUS, the smokers had a designated smoking area outside on the walking deck.
Super Mario is incorrect smoking is allowed only on Deck, in two designated areas. On Australia cruise
Very interesting and informative video! Thank you all. 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
Could you do a video on travel insurance?
Thank you for the suggestion, we do carry travel insurance, and everyone needs to find the right insurance plan for their needs. I’ll talk to Mike about it and see if potentially that could be a video in the future.
@@livingphase2 please keep up the great videos. Found your channel the other day and have quickly subscribed and binge watched all your videos!

Really, getting the visas ended up being easier than I thought it would be.
An excellent video with great content. I am looking forward to your video on travel and medical insurance. Thank you.
We’re not insurance agents and can’t really give advice on this. We would encourage you to speak with your local travel agent as well as doing research regarding insurance that fits your needs.
They have smoking areas on the ship but you can only smoke in those areas
I really liked Mario…what an interesting guy
And he really is a nice guy.
Super Mario is great! Nice video!
Yes, he is a really nice man. Thanks for watching.
Loving it all so far. I never thought about all of the visas and insurances needed for this long trip. I would love to see a video of overall expenses for everything.
We will look at doing that. Thanks!
We live and Cruise in Australia. There are SMOKING AREAS on all Cruise ships Down Under. Where did Mario get his Misinformation from?
We've heard that. Not sure but that was his belief.
So helpful and just an annual cruiser. But when he said cruise dead or alive 😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂
You can smoke on a ship in australian waters iv just been on a cruise last week so not sure what he is on about….designated areas on deck obv not inside or in casinos…
Yep we just did a correction video on that. You're right
You can smoke on Australian cruises
I was thinking of most countries besides the United States medical treatment is much much less expensive. Why would you want to be evacuated back to United States to be charged extreme amount?
For most people that is where their insurance will pay for their treatment
Just a point about the smoking on ships in Australia there are designated smoking areas on the ships but smoking has been prohibited in in door spaces.
We've heard that

We will be right there with you! 😃
WOW
Iam from Australia and you can smoke on the ships in Australia and nz don't know where you got your information from
Imagine missing out on 2 weeks in Australia in favor of a disgusting habit.
Mario is the sweetest guy. As we say to each his own.
Smoking is permitted in designated outdoor areas when RCI ships are in Australian and New Zealand waters. Smoking is not permitted inside the ship or in the Casino while in their waters.
Thanks for the clarification
That was super interesting!
Glad you enjoyed it
Love it ❤
Someone should tell Super Mario that you can smoke in Australia on ships. Just not
Inside The ship
Very helpful information. Love Mario. I too prefer an inside or window stateroom for repeat trips to the same location to help take into account cost, location on the ship, noise, and seas. Great question, but no, we didn’t dig deeper into him having a car. He does live quite the life though.
If I needed a car a few days a year, I would most likely give it up and use metro rail in Miami or some other method to get around.
I would think of all the money I would save if I gave up the car
Another great video! Loved watching it and learning some great tips.
Thanks! The big trips getting closer every day.
Love your UWC Badges - See you December 8th/9th at the Gala!!!
Can't wait!
What is the badge they are wearing, the Pinnacle ones look different?
We were able to purchase a world cruise badge with our name.
@@livingphase2 I thought Royal gifted full World Cruisers, with the badge. Thanks for info!
Ohio here-what a great video and tips thank you so much :)!! 🥰🛳
You are so welcome!
Enjoyed it - Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks!
Super informative! Looking forward to watching your 9 month trip! From a former Michigander now Wisconsinite….Safe travels 😎🛳️🏝️ to you both 😊
Thank you
Did Mario really mean he had no insurance at all?
No I don't think that's what he meant
Just found this
If I would do this I link I would do 9 months I need family. Maybe off ship Thanksgiving till Mardi Gras I would do Europe summer to avoid weather
Yes it would be tough to be away from family that long

I understand what you’re saying, but it’s all perspective.
He mentioned 80% out of Miami how does he get to other ports?
He will back to back off of other ships but in the indie always works this way back to Miami
Great interview.
Thank you.
We went on Quantum of the seas on 6th Dec from Brisbane Aus to Sydney Aus and the ship has a smoking section so don't understand what Mario was talking about no smoking in Australia
Yes. I’ve heard that from others. We will take note when we get to Australia if things have changed or are different on Royal Caribbean.
Does Super Mario use a travel agent. If yes, who is it.
I believe he books his own cruises.
Why does he not look at cost for Ocean View, its got to be a good middle ground?
???
Maybe because he can just walk out of the door for an ocean view, walk to the promenade or other areas of the ship to look at the ocean. It sounds like since he’s in the room very little time. He doesn’t even need an ocean view.
Love this ❤
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
Many years from now when I retire I might take one of those long cruises.
What a nice man!
Yes, he is.😀
Awesome interview so many great questions and answers.
Thanks
