It was mentioned you were a nursing student. Was that your career or did you make another life choice? Thank you so much. This is Nancy here. We’ve tried to do a day in the life, but really on the sea days, It’s rather uneventful. We’ll see what we can come up with. I was a nurse in labor and delivery for many years and taught Lamaze classes. Then I stayed home with our children for a while and now Mike and I own a catering business that is running, while we are on the ship here.

You will love Sydney tomorrow. The weather should be just great for your bridge climb. Check out the Opera house and the botanical gardens. Take a taxi to many places too many to list! Go to Watson’s Bay for a great harbour view and the pub or Doyle’s.
It was a wonderful and amazing day and as you said the weather was perfect. We went with a small group all over town and saw the major sites and then climb the Sydney bridge and hit a pub and didn't make it back to the ship until almost 11:30 at night. One of our most favorite days can't wait to show you that video when I get it finished in a week or two

We were in Newcastle today! We got to visit some wineries and loved every minute of our time. We just got back on the ship a half hour ago.

Hi guys! I did attend the live stream which was great and you did answer my question there. But it was nice to listen to these other questions and answers as well. I'm sure I got an email years ago from RC regarding this cruise but probably didn't pay attention. I'm not sure my husband and I could do an entire 9 months like you both are doing, but I really wish we were! Maybe your cruise will be such a success that they'll do it every year!
We hear rumors there may be another one in the future, but I'm sure it will be much different than this one. It has been great

Oh, that’s wonderful to hear. We have a number of children aboard the ship for the full nine months who are being homeschooled. I think it is around 22 kids.
I don’t think 8 pairs of shoes for a nine-month cruise is a lot. I just went to Mexico for a week and took 5 pairs 😂

Hope you give a bit more notice for livestream next time. Sorry to have missed it! When were you in Hawaii this trip? I thought we started in the islands of the Atlantic ocean.
Yes we agree on the more notice. We ended up having a free evening and so we only really planned a few days in advance. We will try to give you more notice in the future. Yes we started in Miami in the Caribbean circled around South America and then across to hawaii. The video releases are actually a couple weeks behind because it takes us time to edit and then to publish. We also never want to feel rushed to where we miss anything on our adventure to do videos. What package, if any, did you buy to go to Coco Cay? We are doing an 8 day cruise and looked up the options of excursions for there and not sure what we need to purchase. Any suggestions? or can you just go and enjoy the beach? - Thanks
We did not buy a package at CocoCay and just enjoyed the beach. However, our very last day come September is back in Coco Cay again and we’re considering the brand new adult Hideaway, but want to hear the reviews on it first.

No, there areno midnight buffets. The park café is open until midnight or 1 o’clock and you could get some pizza and other small snacks there.
Welcome to Sydney. I do hope you enjoy your visit to my home town and the rest of Australia. Love following your journey which has brought back memories of many places we have also been. Royal Caribbean has said yes they are going to do another world cruise, won't be this long but I'll probably be in the 2026 to 2027 time frame
How many sea days at a time. How many excursions are offered how many have you taken
We either take an excursion or we get off the ship and explore on our own on every port day. Sometimes we only have one sea day and other times we have 5 sea days in a row. Just depends on where we’re at.

My question: how much are your gratuities?
Gratuities were included in our world cruise fare. Any additional gratuities are at our discretion.
When kids leave the house pets should too. We were heartbroken when our final pet passed in 2015,. Loving the freedom
We certainly miss our dog when she passed. But do agree that the freedom is nice at this time.

We can do that, maybe more towards the end of the cruise. We have received hats, Nancy, received a scarf, we get lots of certificates and pins.
Hi! May I ask, beside excursions, have you had to spend a lot of additional money on your cruise? Thanks!

Not a problem.
With the major cruising itinerary changes you are going through, how is it getting refunded for all the excursions you had booked and prepaid for tours not booked from ship? And for new African ports, will you book tours with off ship companies or use just ship excursions?
Royal Caribbean is handling all of their refunds. We are having to contact any third-party companies we used for excursions. And as for the African excursions, we’ve already started planning them through third-party companies. Looking forward to this upcoming adventure.

Loved this! Thank you for taking the time to answer questions. Prior to COVID I traveled quite a bit but the pandemic stopped that. Then my 1st grand baby was born and I wanted to stay close to home for her. Your videos have inspired me to start traveling again. I am cruising the Norwegian Fjords and Iceland in June, then to Asia in November and an expedition cruise to Antarctica in January. I love your videos, super entertaining and informative.

Nancy here, and yes, one time. There were two different days. I didn’t feel well when the seas were rough but it really hit hard one time.
Unlimited drinks! WOW!
Yes, unlimited drinks, but some days we don’t have any and others we may have two drinks. Can’t handle more than that for nine months.

We have been loving every minute of Australia!
You’re going to LOVE Australia!! Oregon son lived there for 3 years after his military service. My husband and I would take our 15 hour flight every 6 months to see our son, daughter in law and our grandkids. If our son was still there we would have retired and moved. Enjoy every bit you can.

I don’t know, but I would doubt it. You would have to call Royal Caribbean and ask them directly.
Only mentioned this. Ambassador cruise lines based in Britain, actually have facilities to provide regular dialysis for people who need dialysis.

Thanks for sharing. Thoroughly enjoy your videos. Have been following you since day 1. Question? We just booked a 35-day cruise for 2025. Very anxious about planning excursions and currency. How did you deal with this? We are in 12 different countries and obviously will need money, even if a small amount. We are a year out and I think we need to start planning now. Thx.
It is good to think ahead. Many places at the port like the little straw markets will take US dollars. Most places will take credit cards. Depending where you’re going, you can always get a little currency ahead of time through your bank for many places, but not all. we tried to budget about $100 per port stop if we knew we would be shopping. Also, for leftover bills that you don’t spend, depending on the currency, you may be able to exchange it back for US dollars in the casino. They don’t take foreign coins, and they don’t take all currencies either. But they will take some. Hope this helps a bit. Have fun on your cruise.

There are mumblings about it. Nothing has been said for certain.
I have Afib also. I think I would be worried about having a problem out at sea or in some underdeveloped countries. Are you concerned about that?
Since I started using a CPAP six years ago, I have not had another incident of afib. So no, I’m not really worried. Also, even in underdeveloped countries, and I am writing this as we are in India right now, the major cities in these countries have what I would consider to be relatively good healthcare. Truthfully, though, if I felt an afib episode starting, I would go immediately to the medical Center on the ship, and I think they could take care of it.
We recently found you...and binge watched til we caught up! We love your "Glass half full" attitude! We met two other World Cruisers, Bruce and Maggie, on a cruise last year. We were following them until, unfortunately, Bruce had a medical emergency in Brazil, and they had to leave the cruise. He's OK and back home! We have a trans-Atlantic coming up next month..then another short cruise to France...then the Fjords in Norway! A few of the same ports as you. Looking forward to seeing your experiences!

Love watching your videos. So jealous I would love to take a nine month cruise. So far I’ve only gotten my husband to do a 10 day. I think it’s great that you’re going to be leaving some of your organizing paraphernalia to the crew. I would ask customer service if they had a spot in the crew area that you could send your items to. And they would put them on a table or in boxes for the employees to go through. And I would include all the clothes I didn’t want to take back. That quite a few of these people come from very poor countries. And you are discarded clothes would be very well appreciated by some of the staff to bring home to their families. My one question deals with what are you allowed to bring back onto the ship. Now we’ve heard you say many times that you bring back wine. My crutch is the drink called Celsius. I don’t drink much alcohol I don’t drink soda. I’m wondering can you bring back closed cans like Celsius live fit. And I’m sure they don’t have them on the cruise ship. Love watching you guys keep it up.
Glad you're enjoying the videos. As we get closer to the end of the cruise many of us World Cruisers have talked about the best way to clean out our cabins and donate things to the crew. Yes, we can bring sodas back on board if they are closed and sealed

Oh yay. I hope Australia is everything you are looking forward to. My daughter is a zoo keeper and worked with Koalas a lot. She would come home smelling of eucalyptus. Just watch out for their claws if you are somewhere in Australia where you can hold them. Not everywhere allows that but their claws are sharp. I’m loving watching your videos.

I booked a cruise on Royal Carribean last year in August that I will be Sailing 9/22-9/27/24 I hadn't really paid much attention to what ship it was on. So, color me surprised when I logged into Crown & Anchor and realized I'll be sailing on your Ship Serenade 2 weeks after the Ultimate World Cruise is finished!!! I just thought that was interesting!

There are a few here, who are big planners like we are and yes, we figured it out on our own. But there are also those who are just figuring it out on a day-to-day basis, and that seems to work for them.😀
My husband and I are also "college sweethearts"...and I am also almost three years older. I imagine you've had your experience, Nancy, with "robbing the cradle"? Never bothered me, to be honest, and it was the best decision I ever made, not to worry about the age difference. We are now 71 and 68 and we'll be celebrating our 47th anniversary this year. :)

It was very interesting to find out that you are not bored with the food I’m bored. You would think that after being on the ship since September that you would be running out of different options to eat.
But I am sure the food and beverage team have thought out the menu plan. Was so much great food all over the world. I’m sure you won’t run out of things to eat.
When you go to Africa, are you going to eat those big white grubs?
I watched other RUclipsrs called Cara and Nate and they got a certificate for eating those roses big white grubs in Africa. Safe travels.

This was a great idea for a video. I am definitely looking forward to your next "live" video. Have you considered doing a live video with other content creators, such as BZ Travel? I think it would be great from an audience point of view to hear you content creators discussing all the topics in one location and not have to go to several different channels. It may also help increase everyone's subscriber numbers. Either way I have enjoyed your channel.
That’s something we will consider. Sometimes it’s hard coordinating things with others. But we love BZ Travel. They are a wonderful couple.

There are port agents where you can have things delivered (especially Amazon deliveries. ) The usual fee is $5 a box. Ask your cabin steward - they know who they are.
I am not familiar with port agents. If there are Amazon lockers, we can order ahead and have it delivered to a locker as we did in Los Angeles. I don’t know if lockers are available in other countries or not.🤔

Close to a dozen. Nothing over seven days.
I could eat a salad everyday for each meal. I don't know how anyone can get bored with all the different food on a cruise ship. Just happy I don't have to cook. We only eat out when on vacation or a cruise. I cook Monday thru Friday and hubby cooks on the weekend. He is still working. Cooking is not that fun to me. I try to cook extremely healthy meals with variety because my husband is a foodie. Cruises answer all those needs. Totally agree with your planning advice. I am a retired CPA and planning is definitely in my wheelhouse.

What do you do for your hair? I get a color and cut every month. I also get manicures every couple weeks. I can’t imagine how much I’d have to spend going to the ship’s spa.
Nancy, here, I brought along a haircutting scissors to trim my hair. But most ports have a beauty salon nearby if need be.
Since you both enjoyed the penguins I hope you get to see the fairy penguins while you are in Australia. They are tiny penguins and very unique.
Also if you have the opportunity the helicopter ride over the Great Barrier Reef was wonderful. The snorkeling is also spectacular. We did this from an activity platform and it included the wet suit. The trays were the helicopter ride, Scooba do diving etc.

We finished our income taxes a couple of weeks ago. We filed them online. We were able to download TurboTax, so really it was quite easy.
