Royal Caribbean has responded to the concern and possible problems to an item if poeple bring it on a cruise ship. it was all brought to light after vlogger ended up going viral for saying theyn used it on a cruise ship. Only to face public backlash.

The cruise line should ban Matt and Abby, very poor parents and totally irresponsible. They were lying to cover their backside. Ban their channels too.

When you have very young children go to the buffet early and have dinner. Speaking of poor parenting. These people are the poster children for CPS.

When their story kept changing and more clarifications were added, the shakier their story becomes.
Something tells me these two parents have done this more than once and just now got caught.

I am totally judging them on this one because...well I can.
They left their kids and are trying to walk back their claims.
If your kids aren't going to behave in certain circumstances, then be a parent and don't bring them to those venues. I wouldn't bring my kids when they were young to a fancy restaurant until I was sure they could act appropriately. In fact, they KNEW how big of a deal it was the first time we took them to one because I told them that I was trusting them to act like a well mannered child.
The issue these days is that parents don't want to take the full responsibility of being a parent, which includes NOT going to certain places with your kids! Great your kids are cute. But if I am at a show, in a theater (depending on what the show is of course), I don't want to hear your kids. Period. I don't want to even hear someone opening a candy wrapper during the show.
Part of being a parent is teaching your darn kids how to act.
If you don't parent your kids, don't be upset when someone else does.
I question why that young vlogger couple needed a baby monitor if a family member was in their cabin baby,-sitting the little ones. Did they not trust this relative? As a grandmother, I would gladly sit with a grandchild so my child & spouse could enjoy a quiet meal by themselves.
I would never take young children on a cruise.

Agree! I would not bring kids under like 5 or 6. I wouldn't consider it a vacation if I had to take care of them. We left our 4 yr old and 1 yr old with their aunt on our first cruise!
I think you might be surprised, especially if folks have bought two connecting cabins. One for the kids and one for them.

I feel this is a good ban, too many people could use these in a bad way!
So these people think splitting with other adults to do different activities on a cruise while traveling with young children is an innovative idea to share on social media. We've done that with our grandchildren for years. Scheduling shows, dinner, etc at different times so parents can enjoy while others babysit has been our practice on several land and cruise vacations. Not sure I believe the second explanation.
Golly. I guess their kids were interfering with their dining pleasure. Stay home and be parents.

Our family has 2 Cpap machines and devices we’d have to charge at night while in the room. How do they expect us to do that when ships have 1 socks in the room?

Yes! I personally am and sick and tired of theses minions roving all over the ship. It is intrusive having to step around them for their perfect shot.
Sounds like RC didn't believe the couples' story that they actually didn't leave their kid alone in their stateroom, and they're quickly nipping in the bud any other people's idea to follow suit this way. 🤨

Wow. Banning baby monitors. So negligent parents can leave their babies in the room and won’t be able to monitor them at all. Not that that was a good idea to begin with or would even work in practice.
I totally agree with this, overpolicing parents who want to use them doesn't seem to do anything but create an environment of fear and shame. If something goes horribly wrong, it's on the parents.

I thought baby monitors were banned all this time due to RF interference reason like with two way radios and similar devices. At least the black out tents are now de facto banned as well since you no longer can have the monitors on board. Why bring a infant/toddler on a heavy trip like a cruise - the kids will never remember any of the experiences. Why deal with the hassle of travelling to multiple countries (and entry requirements of each). If you originally booked the cruise several years out and then gave birth, talk to your travel agent or cruise line to see if you can postpone your trip or see if they have a "nanny service" (Cunard is famous for offering this). Flying with infant/toddler is different since it typically to visit relatives after the birth. I figure you would want your child to remember the experiences they had.
I don't think kids under three should be allowed on cruise ships. I don't pay money to hear a crying baby on my once a year Cruise!!!
My autistic grandson can’t handle the long dinner hour in the MDR so my daughter and son in law always have meals in the buffet since it’s quicker and noisy enough that he’s not really heard talking loudly
The kids were toast if something went wrong that required immediate action.
They were 1 and 2 you can not ever leave them in a cabin what is wrong with them all children should always a parent!
Ban the negligent parents!! Wonder what other bad things they are doing that put their kids in danger.

Well I can understand RCL, just in case a problem happens to a Child with no supervision they don't get involve in the case. To me it was just a big mistake by these parents to post it on the internet.

They didn't mis-word themselves, they accidently told on themselves. There wasn't anyone in the room watching their children. Once they got the backlash for leaving their kids with only a baby monitor, they lied and said someone was watching them.
You can block spam mail. Who goes on a cruise with a 1 & 2 year old?? The parents should have ordered room service. With all due respect who would use a baby monitor on a ship

It just sounds like they are back tracking there first story. We think parents should be with there kids on vacation. Otherwise leave them at home safe with family. I'm glad royal did ban those.
Well, I am pretty sure they left those babies alone not one video of a family member coming out and saying hey, I was in that room watching them they made a mistake. Well, at least they didn’t leave them at home while they went on a cruise. Well, I don’t believe they will get the parent of the year award.

What should be the punishment if you are caught with a banned object when they search your luggage? Fine? This overpolicing is effecting the bottom line and increasing cruise prices. It should be subsidized.
I’m not understanding can someone clarify? Are non surge extension cords banned? Are non surge power strips with a long cord banned? Or just the ones the plug flush into the existing outlet that then provides multi plug in areas and USB areas? Whst are people going to do with medical devices and not outlet near the bed?
Pretty sure there's enough cameras in the hallways to validate their story.
With all their $$$ why were the not using a sitter? Cheap is cheap and irresponsible is irresponsible. They should be looked into for negligence and be banned from all cruise lines!!
This was probably the last thing about WiFi cameras onboard ships. It was not that long ago two employees onboard ships were caught illegally filming in private areas. So I would think, this is the last straw.

Okay, my friend watches her grandson sleep in his crib on her phone at my house so, yes baby monitor cameras work at long distances. She just likes to look at him sleeping! Also l do not believe these two. They were asleep so of course they left them there while they ate. Monitoring would show them if they were stirring. I can see how tempted they would be. After all what could really happen? 1 and 2 they're going to cry first if nobody is there when they wake up. Not that lm saying they should do this. There is a sitter sevice on board.
Hope your toothache is gone. Chew an aspirin if you can. Dissolve it right on the affected tooth. Always helped me. Go to a dentist on shore. Many places are not too expensive in other countries but they are quite good from what lve heard. All the best!
We used a surplus military satcom upload and download link that cannot obviously be noticed by security to connect to the satellite for free and avoid WiFi charges on board we just leave it on the balcony on various ships since 2016 and no one every realized what it was. We connect to our iPhone via a VPN and our own very private WiFi avoid ridiculous wifi charges

Well there goes my potential trip.
They cant ban "baby monitors" because the cruise line cant define what a baby monitor is. Its an open mic and video camera with a blue tooth link. Will they conficate mobile phones or blue tooth devices? These reactive measures will blow back on them quickly. Why not just provide reliable eoom to room video connections? Because rhey dont have enough power outlet to run them? So sad.
And require cruise ships departing from any U.S. port to be U.S. flag and have all ships officers be graduates of a U.S. merchant marine academy. And U.S. citizens
