    You can cut shape of big pottery pieces like that for jewelry creatives. 😊 make more background pop color clear with sea glass and small pieces with the pottery art. 😊

    Nice finds, I’ve only been to Kirkcaldy beach once and was obsessed with the kiln stilts! I found a clay marble a couple of days ago at Castle Street, I never thought much of them , always wished I was finding a Codd, but I’ve become increasingly fond of their smoothness and soft fawn and grey colours.

      @scottishmudlarking  8 месяцев назад

      I love the pyramids so much! The ones with numbers and glazing are my favourite ones :) I do love Codd marbles more than clay marbles but lately we've been much luckier with clays!

    Back again after a while out -One of the remote beaches near Campbeltown, took the long way round not the ferry! Dog help you dig for the rare glass! At least there is no chippy where you've seen the seagulls and the CROWCLUXCLAN present... FOLIAGE(foilage - was he from N'Ireland)... 23.00 that piece of pottery is like a shark's fin! 25.00 nice variety Nicole, like the shell! Notice you normally say at the end 'keep the lights on' - would you say it if lived in the Shetlands during the Summer ?

    What an amazing time at the beach! I loved every minute of it. ❤
    The magic words did it again! What an amazing bottle stopper! I think the bottle stopper and the clay marble are the 🌟 finds of the day!
    The glass and pottery pieces are beautiful!

    That bottle stopper at the end,with the “T” on it,is it Lignum vitae?
    It’s my favorite wood,very fun to carve.
    They used to make bowling balls out of it!
    My only beach experience in Scotland was Loch Ness,found a few really nice stones there,actually.
    I also saw a rainbows end right onto the River Clyde,in Glasgow! Got a nice pic of that.

    • @charlesperez9976
      @charlesperez9976 8 месяцев назад

      BTW,Nicole,your hair looks absolutely stunning 😅

    • @scottishmudlarking
      @scottishmudlarking  8 месяцев назад

      I think it might be Lignum Vitae! The texture is sort of brown with bits rather than solid black as it is for Vulcanite stoppers :) Oh Loch Ness would be amazing - never been up there!

    • @charlesperez9976
      @charlesperez9976 8 месяцев назад

      Wait,WHAT???
      You’ve never been to Loch Ness???
      Listen,I know it’s touristy,but it’s incredible,the water is like black tea,the surrounding landscape is like a dream,the wind that blows across you is like a poem,you can read it,as it crosses over you.

    • @charlesperez9976
      @charlesperez9976 8 месяцев назад

      Also,the bottle stopper,you can tell if it’s Lignum vitae if you place some oil on it.
      That will reveal the tight wood grain.
      If it’s vulcanite,it will be uniform,no grain.

      @@scottishmudlarking was thinking more about the residue of radium coated instrument panels, that were incinerated and put in landfill ( I think it was nearer Dalgety bay to be fair ) I think the area around the sailing club had the highest contamination. SEPA do now claim it's safe, but avoid anything that looks like a dial.

    I must admit, I like beachcombing more then mudlarking, but you find interesting things when you do both things thenI have so much to do in my garden and my neighbors so I am far behind when it comes to RUclips-videos. ( my closest neighbor have a cabin close but they live one and a half hour away and in Norway so I plant for them, watering, take care of their robot-lawn mover etc. They have done stuff for me so that goes both ways.
