    Hi, constructive feedback: I find the music gets in the way of listening, consider making stories with no soundtrack on the background. Wonder if other people feel the same. 🤔

    In the video, 一口钟 is used, so that means "a bell". But I think that 钟 can also mean "clock". To distinguish the two meanings, maybe 个 is used as the measure word for "clock". So 一个钟 could mean "a clock". But I'm not sure.
    This 掩耳盗铃 is a very interesting expression. I think it might best correspond to the English expression: "think one can get away with it". Here, "think" means to delude oneself, "get away" means to avoid being noticed, and "it" means any prohibited action.
    So, when the mother in the video would have brought candies home again, she would have said to the daughter: "I know you want to eat these candies too. But I found the wrappers under your window from the last time. So don't think you can get away with it again !!" :-)

      Thanks for your clear explanation of "掩耳盗铃" in English.
      You're right, 一口钟 means "a bell", and 口 is the measure word. 一个(时)钟 means "a clock" for measuring time in our daily life.
      钟 has mainly four meanings in Chinese.
      1.A percussion instrument, which is made of metal. E.g. 编钟(set of bells, which is an old Chinese music instrument)
      2.An equipment for time measuring. E.g. 时钟(clock),and 钟 is the abbreviation for 时钟.
      3.A specific time or period of time. E.g. 三点钟(3 o’clock),一个钟(an hour).
      4.Surname. E.g.钟先生(Mr. Zhong).

    很有意思! But I find the soundtrack very distracting, could you please consider making stories without it? 谢谢 :)

    塞住和捂住是一样的吗?

    • @EverydayChinese
      @EverydayChinese  5 лет назад +2

      不一样, “塞住”表示填充;“捂住”表示遮盖。比如把布条、纸巾放进耳朵,是“塞住”;用手盖住耳朵,是“捂住”。
