We rented a condo years ago in Sebring while they were testing. It was awesome. You’d be out on the back deck and as soon as you heard the engines roar we’d drive up (not even 10 mins.) to the track and almost go wherever you wanted to watch the cars.
That's awesome! I've stayed at the hotel there a few times for testing, always reserve a room with trackside balcony view of course haha

Not an eagle, actually. That's an Osprey, the second most widespread raptor after the Peregrine Falcon, and arguably the most specialized for catching fish.

Thanks! I hope that happens too one day. Corvettes usually test separately. No McLarens there either but there was at least one of every other type of car that will be in the race
@@LankyTurtledo you know if any vettes will be there on the test day before the race? Curious to see if the C8 ZO6 GT3 will race.
@@Jackson-ev6vq 4 Corvettes will be in the race but I haven't seen any info about them testing before then. The prologue test the weekend before the race was for the WEC and that's been moved to Qatar this year

Beautiful B-roll: the falcon in its nest, the A-10 flying overhead, and "foregrounding" the background: the gorgeous Florida sunset. I love the closeup on the track itself: the treacherous pavement edge and the sand trap just beyond. Who will successfully navigate past that trap? Who will fall in and break their cars? Great job. 🙂

Looks like an Osprey, not a falcon. There's tons of them down in Florida.

Great video!! Always love these. They feel authentic and made from a passionate point of view. Also; man it looks bumpy!! And the sounds are great. Loving the Acura GTP more and more, but the Cadillac is still king.
Thank you very much! Yeah they patch the track up every year but even the parts they've paved over are on top of concrete from the early 1940's so it's bumpy as all hell. Agree with you on the Acura and Cadillac.

The Lambo sounds so good!
The intake growl of that Mustang is absolutely brutal.
The anti-lag on the Aston is pretty loud, too.

The antilag on the Acuras is a great unique sound. The GTP Lambo has a nice unique sound as well. Of course the Caddy and Mustangs are great sounding too. Didn't see the Whelen boys though...
Whelen were scheduled to test on the second day last week which I did not attend so I missed them. I believe that was the only car testing just one day.

You can really see the bumps Sebring is known for here in the hairpin and turn 10, where if you only played video games you'd think it was smooth!
You have to see it in person how brutal and rough this track is and that they can finish the race in full WFO mode all day and into night!

my god the Porsche's and Ford Mustang sound awesome.
Interesting to see mustang lowered the wing on the rear window because of their daytona problems.
The Porsche 963 and the Cadillac don't sound too dissimilar to me 4:09

I'm not sure if Corvettes will test again before the race but they tested there in November. AWA Corvettes test in South Carolina in a couple weeks, but all 4 will be in the race
The Mustang looks better than it did in a video I saw of one about a month ago. The rear wing looks firmly attached to the car, and the rear suspension looks like it’s finally providing damping, unlike the way it looked in the previous video I saw.
Let’s see who’s exhaust sound howls the best.

I think I have asked before but I cannot find it in my history: What camera / mic combo do you use? My 2009 camera is leaving a lot to be desired these days.
How did the wings/trunk lids hold up? Probably not as stressful here as it was at Daytona.
Looked good so far, we'll see after 12 hours

I'm planing on going the Friday cause we will be in Orlando for spring break... any recommendations on what tickets or anything for getting in? was taking my son and step son
Yeah they have a 2 day ticket for friday/saturday. The regular ticket gets you access to the whole track and the paddock where they work on the cars. A few turns have small bleachers you can sit in as well. It's free to park outside the track or $60-70 to park inside, but you can bring in all the food and drinks you want.

Are we going to see both the 18 and 17 Era Motorsports cars at Sebring? That would be interesting. Love those guys’
I think only the 18 will be in the race, I'm not sure what was going on with the 17 but it was following closely behind 18 around the track for many laps. If it does race they'll need a different # because the AWA Corvette runs 17
@@LankyTurtle good point about AWA. I had remembered that they said they might run both at sometime BUT I can’t remember what I had for breakfast, so putting my sports car rambling is a challenge.

Has Porsche changed their crankshaft, on the 963? From Flat-plane to a Cross-Plane. Has deeper sounding qualities to it’s acoustics.
yesterday, here on YT, Toyota Gazoo put up a handful of minutes of their new Hybrid testing at Circuit Paul Ricard. the footage showed just the one Hypercar on track. i gave a Like here.
What engine is in the Lambo? Sounds amazing. Mustang was the best sounding car at Daytona but this might just beat it. Granted it is coming over my crappy laptop speakers so.....
Which Lambo? The GT3 still has its V10, the GTP has a TT flat-plane V8.
Are there already campers staging? Will be headed down the weekend before with ours.

Is the Mustang still handicapped with the BOP rating? I hear the race version is only 500 hp…less than street GTD.
did you get access to the test? or is the hotel on track the only place to be there for testing?
Just behind the hotel, the tracks always closed for tests the last 5 years or so, and then the other shots are from outside the track over by the airport
@@LankyTurtle are these spots including the ones at the end of the video available for fans during the race weekend?
@@Aro3o6 You need a special pass to go behind the hotel during the race but you can go to the hairpin inside the track for basically the same view. The shots at the end you cannot go to during the race, they won't let people there during race week
@@LankyTurtleI was there last year and noticed the restriction on the outside corners by the airport. Looked like people used to camp there. Any idea what the idea behind the restriction is?
I'm surprised people would try to camp there. I know they put up temporary curbs so people won't drive in there. I assume they just want people to pay to come in the track instead of watching for free outside

No they will race in WEC next weekend already.
Their first IMSA race will be here after the WEC Qatar race
Acura needs to go to Le Mans. That car is built for the straights of Le Mans.
Does the Mustang sound good in person?
I can't listen to it in person myself, but I have asked many people who have been there at the track live, all agree that it sounds amazing, if not one of the best sounding cars in it's class currently.
Not quite as good as the Cadillac GTP but it's not far off.
Baby Cadillac is the best way to describe it

Yeah it sounds similar to the Mercedes GT3 if you've heard that car. Pretty loud for a GT3 car but it's still a muffled GT3 so not loud like a Corvette C7.R for example

Because the tracks closed to spectators for testing and there are only certain areas visible outside the track. The second half of the video is mostly turns 12-14, Dick
