As a dad who always owns Xlarge SUVs due to the 3 boys we have, this is the only van I do not mind to own, the tech and look beats any vans I have seen in the North American market.
Since the G9, XPeng is known to be very reliable when it comes to range. If they say it is 700km CLTC, then they should be able to do at least 550km WLTP. The car is after all on an 800V architecture and has a drag coefficient of only 0.227.
My daughters are in their late 20s now, but I would have loved one of these when they were teens. I had a Chrysler minivan then, and I often had me + 6 kids in there, driving them to their dance practices and performances. For me, it was a "dance-Dad" vehicle, not a "soccer-Mom" vehicle 🙂
In order of importance to me: function, reliability (along with servicing & service location), price, range, charge time, battery life. Nice, but not necessary: 110 charging, 2 way charging( to the house during a power outage and to another EV), accessories, solar panels, and finally form/style. It would be perfect if it also could fly like an EVTOL. Geely at one time was thinking of producing a flying car, the Terrafugia FX2. Two strange-looking vehicles that I have considered are the Aptera and the Canoo LV. Both have a unique body style. The Aptera is a little too impractical especially in snowy parts of the US because of the low ground clearance. Also, the Aptera seats only 2 people. The one big plus with the Aptera is that it has solar panels.
XPeng does not get batteries from CATL, and wouldn't in the foreseeable future, as the CEOs had a huge fall out due to price gouging on the part of CATL during the lithium price hike. XPeng's main battery supplier for their ternary batteries is CALB (3rd largest battery supplier in China) and, in the case of the X9, Eve Energy. The Li Auto Mega is the one with CATL's batteries.
I am still waiting on a cross breed between a casio g shock watch and a 7 seat ( removable ) van in plug in electric hybrid as a 4wd offroad camper. Like an electric delica....as a post apocalyptic bug out vehicle with a lift kit..... Just wishing.....
I will buy an EV when it has price parity with a gas model and a range of like 350 km in winter, then I will start to consider them, and by that time there will probably be more EVs where I live so more fast charging options and better servicing
I'm very excited, I definitely want the Xpeng X9 with higher ground clearance driving in high snow and wet winter conditions. CATL Second generation LFP BATTERIES brings an incredible range! Excellent build from Xpeng and CATL ! Wish Xpeng can bring X9 to Canada? 😉💖⚡️🚐⚡️💖🔋🌞💯👌 😉💖⚡️🔋🌏✌️
Hi, You said this vehicle has the range that Australian Drivers want. 700kms is inadequate to my mind. My current car, a 2014 VW Tiguan 103TDI has a range of 1150kms on the highway, but most importantly has a range of 950kms when towing my boat. Any less and I wouldn't have access to my favourite fishing spots. To make things even better my current car is a competent 4x4 Soft Roader giving me access to areas denied 2wd vehicles. I need an SUV EV that can meet these criteria. That is when I will buy an EV.
Definitly a better looking MPV than I've seen in years. Have these range numbers been 3rd part verified or just oem claims?, oem always like to make it look better than reality.
Looks very big, like a maxi toy car model. Interesting look. Indeed more than range, first thing I thought is this car is going to be a problem with oarkong and going around corners, so turning circle, even with the base model is going ro be an important feature characteristic. I thonk with 5-7 people in this car and cargo, I doubt, even with the new battery the car is going to achieve its range on paper. I think this Ev will be very thirsty in terms of consumption and upcoming reviews with one driver will not do the range efficiency valid justice. You really need to test the car. I then think the range will be much lower because it is a very big car with a big surface area. I think the larger pack will make more sense for this vehicle. I think the true valued performance of catls new lfp battery will be seen in compact cars where an increased range with a lighter pack will show what the battery is truly capable of. I can remember that even in the early days of the Ev revolution there was a lot of talk about sweet spots for power and range to weight ratios for EVs. I'm not sure these numbers have changed for 2023 and beyond, but the rhetoric does sound logical at first.
Nice van, but the range is impossible with a 84kWh battery, even if this is the net capacity. A vehicle that large and heavy won’t drive around with 13-14kWh/100km in anything that’s close to real life.

My prayers for you all continue.

Why would you risk your daughters fiery death??
@@markmiller8903 Battery-electric cars are much less-likely than hybrids, gasoline and PHEV cars to burn.
Great work Xpeng
I have lots of Tesla stock but starting a month ago i started buying XPeng stock because they remind me of Tesla 7 years ago.
It will be really good to see these smaller, more efficient batteries in smaller vehicles. Sounds very promising
Thank you everyone for donating
It'd be quite good for a small camper van and the range would be fine for an entire day of exploring.
Any idea if they will put out a version with the steering wheel on the right for the Hong Kong market?
Finally an EV mini van 👍
Cheers mate
One might wonder how the Volkswagen bus was so popular- everyone loves style and utility utility only a van can offer.
Not everyone loves a van
Morning mate

does the P7 use LFP batteries and if not, p7 or highland?
Amazing value. Get them down under ASAP!
any xp there yet?
@@haoruchen4216 nope.
I hope it comes to NZ
Thanks....awesome Sam.........Will it come to OZ

It looks like my Toyota Tarago 2016, only a bit futuristic!
Looks like RoboCop's ride.

With that price point, Xpeng should not put lever type door handles like the model 3, and should go up to Model X style door handle.

How come North America gets BYD busses, but not cars??

Jai Hinduja. As an East Germanic tribal kindred as made known by Hisler, I wish that VW makes up its mind and take full control of Xpeng.
Xpeng isn’t profitable, soo why buy a money loosing company when you also bleed money?
I don't think Xpeng is available for "full control" or even majority share purchase.
Is it just me or front looks like less sharp Cybertruck?
That's battery expensive right so the car not cheap too right 👍

Seeing is believing. I doubt the tech has improved that much or weight reduction sufficient to get this range from an 83kw battery.
Any native Chinese speakers? I thought Xpeng was pronounced Shau-Pung rather than X-Pung
xiao peng
That's the Chinese name. X-Pung is what it is known as to the rest of the world. Both are correct.
lfp battery is safer.
Toyota 2014 no 2017 no 2022 no 2023 "in five years we'll have a new battery that can do 700km."
Xpeng 2023 "fancy a test drive? "
I think you mast stop to advertise the dollar price in China ..because outside chana is normally 3x price.
Li auto mega is overpriced ugly mpv. Would buy xpeng x9 in canada for $50,000 max
lol, people that are embarrassed by having a van should maybe not pop out babies like it’s a business.
If you cannot afford the Dongfeng Mengshi M-Hero 917 BEV with 4 electric motors and a 140 kwh Qilin battery you officially are a loser in life.
First.
But Xpeng is today the Vw-U Boat. Disgusting.
???
Vw has bought Xpeng partially, and uses its tech, because Vws tech is Crap (Id3,4,5...)@@markuc
