- The unnamed patient, from India, complained of both pain and itching in his eyes and decided to seek medical help. Amazed doctors spotted the parasite, which measured 15cm, squirming around in one of his eyeballs and pulled it out. Further tests revealed the 60-year-old, from Karnataka - a state in the south west of the country - also had worms in his blood.

As a doctor, it’s not that scary at all. Little bit complicated and dangerous procedure to treat this but i like doing it due to it feels satisfying.

Everyone is happy the worm was removed but am yet to find out how the worm got in the eye in the first place.
Its a tapeworm it come from the Butt to your eyes and also other places
Nope, tapeworms are flat like: tape. Also segmented, thats how they spread.
It's coming from raw meat, raw fish untreated water unwashed fruits etc
If they pulled it out really fast, his eye would spin round and round, true story.
Legends say, it's still spinning
Beyblade Beyblade let it rip
*you spin me right round baby right round like a record baby right round round round*
It would start up like an old lawnmower. Everything he looked at after that would get a little bit shorter.

Mochi how do they even get in your eye
@@paoo4915 crawl up your body or go under your eyelids
@@ek2211 bruh. They get inside your body from infected flies. When these flies bite you. The parasite get inside your eye because it is the coolest part of the human body. And then the parasite grows until it becomes 15 or 20 cm long.
That can work. Cook the worm dead.
Amazing scene, what a fabulous relief this man had with that worm taken out of his eye of all places!
Well done to the medical person!
Wow. 15cm worm in the eye would be hard enough to hear, but hearing there in your blood stream too... devastating.
Are you saying that some parasite infections can severe enough to actually hear the worms inside you!? I'm curious because I have a compromised immune system and have dealt with opportunistic parasitic infections and they are awful! I swore I could hear faint squeaking, but the doctor said that wasn't possible. I don't know, the noises stopped once medication was started.
@@badazzbertha5350 lol. Naw. I meant being told. Not literally hearing. Sorry for the confusion.
Thanks, something else to worry about, that was horrible.
I always feel that eye surgeries are the most painful to watch among all the others
Crikey that was hard to watch but I bet the relief was amazing for that poor guy
Omg the relief he must feel. It's so red and sore looking.
I feel like a masochist for watching that all the way through
How did it hurt you?
I wonder why the patient's eye wasn't clamped? Very unusual,
What I wanna know is how do you even let it get to that? Does it grow in the eye or does it just show up in there one day?
It got into him when it was small really small and grew then finally tried moving and got into his eye. I dont know if it's a tape warm or a pig warm he must of got it from eating pork hes very lucky it dodnt go into his brain and feed.
@@nateermine2849 it's a loa loa I believe. Their vector is a deer fly and they have a nasty habit of crawling under the conjunctiva when they're grown. Normally they cause calabars swelling aka migratory angioedema as they move around the body. Obviously these need to be removed surgically in the eye but treatment is usually diethylcarbamazine iirc
What sort is this ? 😳 yuck is it real ?
That looks more like ocular gnathostomiasis, which is normally caused by eating undercooked seafood or drinking contaminated water
@@mikeh6364you’re a hero for how detailed this comment is. Thank you for that.
I almost passed out! Respect to doctors doing the things that others cannot!❤️💚
That would be my last day on earth. Not the eyes. Anywhere but the eyes.
What if it laid eggs or something? Or will medication take care of that?
Medication will sort it out, just didn't want a whole worm dying in their..
NANI?! Why am I doing this to me..
Here in the West we have no clue what kinds of maladies lurk in developing countries. Worms, insects, parasitic waterborne nasties....I am always amazed at the way those people endure them. And the brave doctors who seek to help...

My heart goes out to this poor man. Oh my gosh just like I read the comment down below about getting the eyelash out of the eye eye we all know what that’s like. Sometimes it’s like all day or you’re up all night trying to get that damn piece of hair out of your you know an eyelash stuck in your and it’s it’s the worst feeling, but he must’ve gone into some foreign country or something. I’ve never heard of that in the US something in your eye like that poor guy what a great doctor. I hope this guy is doing better. I’m sorry this happened to you, sir.
It's hard to watch at first but when it's removed it's you'll like "phew"
Salute to Doctor
I’m sure that somewhere there a bunny hugger watching this and is concerned about how traumatizing that must be…. For the worm.
I can just imagine the itch/relief afterwards.
This is what nightmares are made of
How did a worm get into his eye🐛👁️⁉️❓❔
parasite, planted somewhere on/in his body and decided it wanted to stay in his eye
Usaully when u have a worm it can get into many places if u have one
The worm as a small baby is a larva, it is extremely small and is often carried by flies. This type of thing usually happens with cattle, but in rare occasions affects humans. The worms get into you eyes when they are tiny larva’s, this happens when the fly actually distributes them to the eye. In most occasions distributing multiple. Then the larva’s grow bigger and bigger, and as the grow they become more recognizable to the human eye.
How does the flie distribute to eye?
I’m to lazy to think of a name are you also too lazy to type all that out by yourself?
Curious how did this happen what caused it...
Great Job Doc...
As a Heart & lung surgery nurse nothing phased me but the eyes. Not the 👀👀👀
Yes! I was studying to become a PA. In the ER one night a woman came in with a round worm in her eye. That night was the end of my career in medicine. Walked away. Don't go showing me eye things. I can't even assist in eye surgery. Had to do several surgeries that was putting an oil into the eye to hold the retina in place. Made me physically ill. No eyes
@@reneepallo7779 I now have to get monthly retinal injections due to elmiron retinopathy. Major anxiety days!
WTF 😱. How does a worm get in the eyes 👀?
It is transferred to the human by a type of fly that doesn't bite but tears the skin and licks the blood. During this, the microscopic egg of the worm is transferred. The worm grows within the human body and moves to different parts of the body but seeks the eye because it is the coldest part of the body.
I consider myself a strong person, but I'm pretty sure I'd end myself if this happened to me.
Dragon Waifu Yeah, Shotung right in the eye...😰
Was anyone able to watch this without their eyes watering or gagging?
How did the parasite get there?

And how can you look like you're missing half of your brain?
Scarlett lemme tell u sum falling off a cliff getting stabbed and getting shot and cancer and all that stuff that causes death is real pain aight?
Probably added numbing stuff to their eyes and sometimes symptoms can go unnoticed
You don't feel it. Same with a small leech, you don't feel it until you notice it. So, it's not rare for you to not feel things. It's life, things happen not correcting them is the issue.
But where does something like this happen??
That poor patient. I hope that never needs to happen again (getting another surgery)
Imagine the relief afterwards!!
10x better than an eyelash removal!
@@bobolton4 right, I can feel the relief 🥴🥴🥴
How did it end up there in the first place ?????

That is the worst. That’s all that can be said about the situation.

Cool share. This parasitic worm is a type of Roundworms (Nematodes) and not a type of Flatworms (Trematoda:Flukes or Cestoda:Tapeworms).
Do you know what specific species this is? I have a compromised immune system and am dealing with some opportunistic parasitic infections. It looks like it could be Loa Loa, what do you think?
@@badazzbertha5350 its loa loa filariasis(firey serpent). African eye worm.. they have a crazy life cycle. The worms will migrate to the hosts lower limbs were they lays the eggs which causes a nasty boil..when water touches the boil/ host walks into a river to wash, the boil bursts releasing the larvae back into the water system. When another hst dns the contaminated water the life cycle begins again.
OMG JUST IMAGINING HOW THIS MAN FEEL
This is a wonan
I wander how did that worm get in his eyes?
How did he get that worm in the eye, what caused it to be there?
My concerns are, why did he let it get into that stage? Why didn't remove it sooner, why let it grow that long?
Maybe he doesn't has the money for surgery.
He didn't notice/feel it until one day the eye must've really bothered him and he decided to investigate further. And noticed something wasn't right.
How did this happen??
Makes you wonder... How does that feel?
Anybody else's eyes feeling weird?

Is it just me or does it feel like its happening to me?
