Live Action One Piece blew me away with how much it DIDN'T suck, but it's kinda unrealistic to expect lightning to strike multiple times.
Yeah for a fact. Im just glad my favorite story wasn’t tainted even if it wasn’t perfect.
Exactly. Granted I was a bit sad that they had to cut out some very vital and iconic scenes, plus made certain changes. But as someone who has had One Piece be one of the few sole reasons I was introduced to anime (Even though I kind of stopped watching a while ago), I am surprised with how much the Live Action managed to work through things in a way which I was actually happy with. I won’t deny that my hype went through the roof the first time I binged everything in one go.
It also makes senses to me that I don’t think the Live Action was expecting to even have good reception, which is why they tried to fit in as much as possible within the first season. But with the 2nd season definitely being greenlit now, the producers may even have a better budget to make the series better than ever. I’m really hoping on this.
@@Tenshii_Artii Granted, the bar of "don't suck" is a relatively low one objectively. However, given what popular entertainment has become these days, I can't help but have ultra-low standards. Probably the reason why I kinda liked that Disney Wish movie.
The Scott Pilgrim movie is Criminally underrated.
Literally a top 10 movie for me and thats saying a lot cause I watch a lot of movies.
This is just my own personal opinion. But I felt like Disney’s Aladdin 2019 Live Action adaptation felt like the only live action that I kind of hold close to me still. Mostly for the reasons because of Alan Menken’s Amazing work on the soundtrack actually took me back to nostalgia. His instrumental direction revamp of the original soundtracks was just great to me, and probably want made the movie as much as the songs that contained lyrics.
So much so that I watched it twice. And personally my family loved it, and the whole theater literally clapped at the end. It was a full house when I went for first viewing.
But other than that. Many times when I try to give these live action movies a go, i always feel like they are missing something? I never know what it is. But I always felt like these remakes needed ‘more’.
I think after indulging in so many of these live action remakes I've come to the conclusion that a retelling of a story really can't be an amazing replica of the original at least 9/10 times the style of storytelling just calls for different artistic elements that are very hard to translate through mediums. With that being said I don't think it's impossible to tell a good story it just takes a lot of creativity and a passionate team to work towards a new outcome that can ultimately be just as amazing or even better than the original. But then again, I'm just a guy who literally just watches these movies so who knows.
awesome vid
Thank you

the delicious cake metaphor hit
"the unrealistic booty m... booty movements... the unrealistic body movements" 😂
Hey man everyone makes mistakes😂
Many live action Disney remakes are pretty mid, I agree. The live action Jungle Book, though, was incredible. Definitely an exception. Also, love the video! Love the editing! Thanks for always making me laugh!
Yeah I definitely liked the jungle book as well but overall live actions are just a mess. Thanks for the support it’s definitely appreciated.
it is true that live action anime remakes specifically have sucked, but i think it’s still important for them to happen. mainly for the exposure it gives the medium, of course the live action has to have been made well. An example of this is the one piece live action, after watching it a lot of people were thrown into and encouraged to watch the anime or read the manga. also with alice in borderland is another example of this, i didn’t know that the anime and manga existed but the live actions popularity bought me in and had me reading the manga
Exactly my point!!! It needs to be made better and for the purpose of exposure because the stories definitely are peak.
Woah!
