Please consider bringing a another more quiet color to market guys, like light grey or white. This is the most amazing boat for family swim sessions i have ever seen! So much space. Hope to get one soon in germany!
That would be awesome, right?! Right now we don't have a trolling motor mount designed for this boat but it has been discussed and is a possibility in the future. More interest might make it happen!
Hello from Orlando, FL. I really enjoyed this vid. Great fishing, really nice overview and it is something that I have been considering. Quick Question, in your description on the website it says that “it is best to use this with an 18’ trailer”…so,why 18’ feet if the boat is 14‘4“? Thanks.😅
Personally I use the Continental A1412 PWC Trailer for this FastCat 14. You can rise the bunks high enough so the whole boat sits above the wheel wells which is very important. This trailer is shorter than 18'. We will be doing a trailer video where we explain the best trailer fit for your boat. The 18' recommendation was to fit the whole boat and have a long enough tongue for turns since the boat has a wide bow.
Great question! We actually use a trailer to launch this boat as we leave it inflated all the time. We show us launching it in this short we did - ruclips.net/user/shortsY5Bop2gQZio
Good question! We will be doing a trailer video soon. The trailer I use is a Continental A1412 as it allows the bunks to be risen above the wheel wells. Since this is a wide catamaran you want it to sit over the wheel wells. Different trailer brands are available in different regions of the country but this is a standard size trailer. We will go over all of the specs in the video.
This is right in my backyard. I am gulf access in S. Cape Coral. If you are filming a lot in the area should let me know. Also can maybe collab on other cross promotion marketing.
I would love to do a meetup. We have a bunch of boats down here for us to go out on or for you to try. Please email staff@seaeagle.com and they will forward it over. Cheers!
Nice boat. Wish it had a more subtle but modern colour. Looks like a baywatch safety raft. Please make a video putting it in torture test. Did SeaEagle not notice that hitting the Explorer 380X with hammer and rolling over it with a Jeep made it legendary? It’s why I kept coming back to it and finally purchased it. Run this model like TrueKits did by riding it in waves. Show us the build quality and ruggedness. It is what sells this kind of product. People want reassurance regarding inflatables. Thanks for the video!
We greatly appreciate the feedback! One thing I can say about this color is that it will always strike up a conversation at the boat ramp, people are always drawn to it. We will definitely be doing more videos on this boat so those are great ideas for future videos. We want to do one like we did with the FishSkiff 16 showing its performance in rough waters and we can definitely add showing its ruggedness to the list of what we show.
I just bought this boat!! Just got it last week. I ordered a Tohatsu 20HP instead of the Honda so as soon as that arrives, i'll be out on the water. I'm also in FL so looking forward to getting out to the flats, sandbars, and springs!! Can you show a video of your trailer set up and launch with the FC14? I bought a harbor freight 8' (11' with tongue) but i'm interested to see what your setup and launch is like. The other video i'd like to see is how it handles in waves.
Great question and video recommendations! Congrats on the purchase as well! We use a Continental A1412 Trailer for the boat as the bunks can be adjusted high enough so the boat can sit over the wheel wells since it is a catamaran. We plan on doing a trailer video soon where we go into more detail on the trailer as every region offers different trailers. In this short we show us launching it in the water - ruclips.net/user/shortsY5Bop2gQZio
@@henrygabriel700 not sure if that question is for me but I plan on doing one as soon as I get on the water. The setup of the boat was incredibly easy but there are some "things to know" that I learned and may be of benefit to other people. My trailer situation, not so much, which is what has taken me so long. I chose a utility trailer and had to customize it and had to figure it out as I went. It was cost-effective but a PITA for sure. That has nothing to do with SeaEagle, it was my choice. I'll be out on the water with it for the first time next week and plan to do some videos. I'll post once I figure all that out, i'm not a youtuber 🙂
@@SeaEagleBoats the wheel well height is the issue I ran into with my Harbor Freight utility trailer relative to the width of the boat. The boat's pontoons will definitely sit on and bend the wheel well if you don't have enough height. I wound up getting 12" bunk brackets and added 4, 10' 2x4 carpeted bunks for the height needed to clear the wheel wells and the length needed to support the back end of the boat and motor. I also waterproofed all my electrical connections. And I added a tongue extension, winch, and spare tires to the front of the trailer for counterweight. Worked out well in the end and saved me $ over a boat trailer, but definitely was a PITA figuring it out. I do think, because of the width and weight of this cat, it would be beneficial to show a trailer setup and how important it is to get the right height, length, and weight distribution because it's not as intuitive as a narrower boat like a John Boat or a vhull that would have higher sides.
This boat handle chop great. Since it is a catamaran it tends to want to ride over waves. In heavier waves it has the lift bow to keep spray from getting in the boat. When initially throttling the bow does lift up until the boat planes off. Cheers!
Great question, for one person without a trailer I would recommend the FishSkiff 16. The FishSkiff is a lighter boat that is easier to move around by yourself and will take up less space in your vehicle. The FastCat 14 is better suited for multiple people with a pickup truck or a trailer. Here is a video packing the FishSkiff 16 in a Ford Escape - ruclips.net/video/dL9FJos05Q4/видео.html
This boat is definitely best with a trailer or if you will be inflating and leaving it inflated for longer periods of time. When deflated it measure roughly 72" x 29" x 15" but that doesn't include transom, seats frames, seats and motor.
Great idea! Next time ill show how much of a family fun boat it is as well. The canopy is not high enough to stand fully underneath however it doesn't cover the bow so you can stand fully there. Make sure to follow us or instagram and Facebook @seaeagleboats, I have tons of shots I will post so you can see and we'll also put together a RUclips short on it.
Does the anchor work best in the front or the back of the boat? I know for the FishSkiff it's the front, but I'm not sure about the FastCat since it's a catamaran. You have it anchored in the back, but Dan's video had it anchored in the front. We haven't taken our FastCat out yet, so I don't know how the winds move a catamaran when anchored.
Good question! I personally bring 2 lightweight anchors so I can use it in the bow, stern or both. However for most situations the best place to connect an anchor is the large reinforced D-ring directly under the bow. If you want to keep the boat floating slightly off the beach one D-ring in the back and one in the front is great.
@SeaEagleBoats I have to say that I will not be using that large D-ring at the bow, it's too far out of reach for my arms. I'm going to glue a Scotty Mount Pad at the bow for my anchor. I have a 2.5 lb Mantus Dinghy Anchor that I used on our FishSkiff and will now be using on this FastCat. We absolutely love that Mantus anchor, it was worth every penny! Prior to the Mantus, we used a regular weighed anchor plus 2 Stick-It Anchor Pins (one on each side is the boat because it's windy at the coast). With the Mantus, we no longer need the Stick-It Anchor Pins, but we still keep them on the boat in case we need to push ourselves out of shallow water less than a foot. I know how the winds push a FishSkiff so the anchor is best at the bow, which keeps waves from slamming on the side of the boat or pushing water in from the back. I don't know how the winds push a catamaran style boat.
Hey guys.. I was thinking about getting a FastCat 12 for fishing. Is there ANY WAY to get a trolling motor mounted up front? As you probably know, a lot of people that fish like to have their trolling motor up front so they can cruise around while fishing from the front.
This boat is a very stable fishing platform, it can handle some chop and offers tons of space for gear and moving around. Personally I use this model in large bays and even the Gulf of Mexico and it works very well for me. It is a larger boat so if you plan on inflating and deflating every use you may want to consider the smaller FastCat 12 or even the FishSkiff 16. If you are leaving inflated with a trailer it really is an amazing boat.
How does she handle getting around when some unexpected wind kicks up and you encounter some swells on the water. I'm only a couple blocks from the bay so I would most likely walk it on a dolly and carry right onto the short beach walk. Am I dreaming or is it lite enough for a couple grown men to carry
I will be doing a video showing it in rougher conditions very soon, just waiting for a windy day. If you find a dolly that will allow you to lift the bow and walk it around it should be just fine to be moved around by a couple people. You may want something with rubber tires to make it easier to move around on a sandy beach. To answer your first question I have used the boat in 20mph+ winds and it handled well, since it sits low you may get some spray if its windy. If big chop picks up like most boats you will want to head straight into the waves for the best handling. I hope that helps, let us know if you have any other questions.
We offer a few different life jackets on our website. I personally always use our paddling vest as it allows more flexibility for your arms and has pockets built in on the vest for small items like your phone, wallet, whistle etc. Feel free to ask any more questions you might have. Cheers! - www.seaeagle.com/Accessories/life-jacket

Seemed very strange and a nuisance. Is this normal or just about how much weight in the paddleski. I haven't read anyone mentioning this

We have many boat options and all have there own strengths. The FastCat 14 offers tons of deck space for gear and just space to move around and stretch those long legs out lol. It is also extremely stable because its 6'8" beam as well as well protected on the bottom since the keel guards run the full length of each pontoon. Being larger if you are inflating every time it has a longer setup and breakdown time and may require a large SUV/pickup or trailer. The FishSkiff 16 on the other hand it going to be lighter and take up less space, better for inflating and deflating with limited space. Its going to be faster with just a 9.9HP pushing it over 22mph but it has less deck space and room for gear. If you have the room I would go with the FastCat 14 It just offers more room and also can take a larger motor as well, plus you can bring up to 4 people.
