Thanks for posting this - I'm also trying to crack fast tacks and what you talked about made me have a look again at technique. I found a tutorial video by Vladimir Yakovlev that seemed somewhat more elegant and concise than others I'd seen, and also emphasized getting upright as you mention. Josep Pons has some good tips too.

Hey Paul. Just(ish) got back from Vass working on this. Yes go early - but also back wind the sail for the last bit of the turn (even if it’s just a moment). Cookie has an excellent video on this. Total game-changer. I practiced sailing backwinded on big kit for a few mornings, and then it really clicked with the tacks. Up to about 90% on small wave kit now.

Hey Simon. That is sick - nice one 🤙
As soon as I’m back on the water one of the key changes I’m going to make is going early.
I’m aiming for your level of consistency 👌

Hiya Dunny, glad you're enjoying the heat. You'll certainly notice the difference when you get back! I tried to register on Graham's course but got into a death loop. IT eh! Was struggling with my tacks on my 85 FSW. Very inconsistent. After studying the tacks the wavies were doing at pozo changed my technique to get round Quicker and I also put my back foot in front of the front foot straps. Seems to have made a difference and I'm now getting them most of the time. At least on flattish water 😂

Hey Paul - great to hear from you. Hope you’re well.
That sound s great re the difference you made to your tacks. I’m defiantly finding with the changes I’ve introduced from grahams course I’m getting more consistency. I pulled off 4 in a row on Saturday which is a big step up for me.
Still loads of improvement to make but it’s fun working on them. Tacks are all the rage now 🤙💥

@@boomwindsurfing2744yes, it's great when you can string a few together. Carve gybes are so passe, tacks are where it's at! 😉
