Thanks for doing this review. I had seen them advertised on a wetsuit online site and can't say I have heard of them before. My NP suit is starting to fail now, zip has broken and some seems leaking. So looking to buy a new suit for the UK winter waters. I was looking at the O'Niel Hyperfreak and the Ions as a couple of friends have recently bought Ion suits and like them, the Orca seems to be worth looking at now also 🤙

Hey Tim. Paul here. Feedback appreciated. Glad you liked the review.
Orca have just broken into the surfing/ windsurfing wetsuit market having been market leaders in swimming wetsuits for some time.
I have to say I’m impressed with the 4:3 suit and would assume their new 5:4 winter suit would be equally as good.
I live in Scotland, sail throughout whole year and have 6 suits on total.
2023 6:4 Pro Limit Winter suit with hood
2024 4:3 ION Select AMP Spring Autumn suit black
2024 4:3 ION Select AMP Spring Autumn suit blue
      2024 4:3 Orca Spring / Autumn black
2020 3:2 ION Select Seek short arm summer suit
2023 2:2 ION AMP select summer shortie
This gives me the full spread of wetsuits I need all year round and suits I need if I’m sailing abroad.
I find having 3 wetsuits at 4:3 thickness a real bonus especially if I’m away on a trip to Tiree or Ireland in October.
It can take at least 2-3 days to dry a suit and this way I have a dry suit to put on each day - which is nice 👌
It sounds extravagant but drying wetsuits here at any time of the year isn’t easy so having multiples really helps.
I’m going to buy another winter wetsuit for this winter so I can rotate them and if I buy an Orca I’ll do a review on that too.
Thanks for being a subscriber and thanks for the comment - really appreciated.
      Happy sailing 🤙💥

@@boomwindsurfing2744 Thanks for that detailed explanation Paul. I watched this video shortly after you released it, but have come back to it as I find myself needing a new wetsuit. Now to decide between the Orca or the Ion.
I'm on the other side of the country, on Skye, but am getting back into windsurfing after a 15 year gap so find your videos a welcome inspiration :)

Most decent suit use the yamawhatsit neoprene. The ion suit like many don't need the little popper for the zip because the zip can not be pulled open when the zip is done that way round.

      Hey John.
Don’t agree about the ION Zip not being able to be opened that way round. I’ve had that once. I think it’s a good detail and I have it on my 2 mm shortie suit which is 2021

The cuffs are a good idea. I do like the colour of the ion though - black wetsuits are soo boring

100% agree re the colour. That’s why I went for the blue. On line it looked like a Smurf suit but in reality the clout is really nice.
The cuffs on the Orca work well. The suit is impressive if a bit dull !!

I think the Orca wetsuits were originally designed for swimming / triathlons. I have a O'Neill Hyperfreak it's amazing.

Yep. Orca have specialised in swimming wetsuits and most recently open water suits.
This is their first venture into surfing suits.
      Decent bit of kit.
