      Love the podcast…but what they are not considering is the following: When people see these dudes that have been BLESSED to the hilt in ways that most humans BEG God for…when people see them complain…they have to feel even WORSE…because if THESE dudes are complaining about life, then the average person has no hope. They are really missing the point. They are …unintentionally, coming across as ungrateful with all this complaining about their lives. A sanitation person….a construction person…..a janitor….a single mom that works endless hours to take care of their children..THAT IS HARD. These dudes complain far too much. I know people worship these ‘idols’…but truly, they complain more than average people do, and it is so ungrateful.

      Marcel Marshall hi Marcel. I don’t think it’s “complaining”, I think it’s humanizing these professions. They aren’t money machines. If you bleed, you gone have problems. No matter if you make 13k annually, or 13 million. We all have struggles and a bank account with commas won’t make your brain process anxiety or depression any different because the root, as a black person around the world, is pure hate for our existence at every angle. I’ve been high, I’ve been low, I’ve had it all, and literally didn’t have a fork to my name. But God just made us to be resilient. We just have to remind each other to keep moving until our job we were sent here to do is complete. But keep your head up young king. In whatever you’re doing, do it with passion, and the money gone come if that’s what you’re after. But fulfillment and peace is much better once you remove the dollars😘

    Brandon, I know many people say it to you but please, please, PLEASE understand...you guys are so needed in the culture. You are saying things that many of us were thinking and feeling but never knew how to express it or deal with it. I am glad some black men, black kings got together to have real conversations about topics that we need to be open about. Even with the jokes and laughter, you talk parenthood, relationships, friendships, business, generation wealth and health, mental awareness and male stereotypes. Even when I don't agree, you guys make me think about different views. I so appreciate everything you guys are bringing to the table. Blessings to you, Channing, Fred, Chad and your families!

      NO THEY ARE NOT NEED FOR THE CULTURE !! What are they doing? All you see is money and fame.... Im not hating but the things they represent are backwards.. We have this Dez talking about "mental health." Why ?!! would he have been talking about this 5 yrs ago..NO ! Somebody put that in his head to say.. Black ppl pick up narratives bc dont think for ourselves..Im not just saying think or say anything.. Im saying value education, research, than think in depth, logically & rationally. WHY DO WE LET THE SYSTEM GIVE US OUR NARRATIVES???!!?! "MENTAL HEALTH" IS B.S. !! THE SYSTEM IS ALREADY TRYING TO BLAME THE VIOLENCE IN BLACK NEIGHBORHOODS ON MENTAL HEALTH AND NOT BRUTAL OPPRESSION.... SO THE BLACKS SITUATION IN NEIGHBORHOODS OF POVERTY HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE LITERAL GENIUSES IN 'THINK TANKS' COMING UP WITH WAYS TO SUSTAIN SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC HIERARCHY FOR WHITES..BLACK PPL DONT RESEARCH OR VALUE EDUCATION.. YOU GOT BLACK HERE (ATHELETES) WHO PARTY ALL THE TIME TALKING ICERTAIN THINGS AND BC THEY HAVE MONEY, FAME AND PLATORM, BLACK PPL LISTEN... BC BLACK PPL MOVE MORE SO OFF EMOTION THAN LOGIC AND RATIONALE.... MENTAL HEALTH IS B.U.L.L.S.H.I.T !!!

      He’s still emotionally upset. Once he get past that emotional anger he will probably realize he didn’t do the proper research. But his anger is mainly towards the athletes that didn’t reach back out to him when he was trying to form so thing big to help the athletes out. He has to realize they not in that head space yet. People will eventually wake up on their own timing. Dez just got to move on and not worry about the people who told him no or didn’t respond to him when he reached out.

    @youngw.a.r2709 2 года назад +6

    I'm only 26, I felt this between 16-23. Sometimes I still have small episodes but it has got a lot better. My childhood was traumatic so I feel like that played a role in it but also I was an athlete my entire life up to that point. And a good one. I had issues at home that ultimately led to me not going to school my senior year even while knowing I had the talent to play at the next level atleast d2. The issues I had at home were my mom in prison due to cocaine possession, my dad unemployed my entire life and was a horrible alcoholic to the point he would still be awake and drunk when it was time to take me to school in the morning.. we had no electricity, no running water so just to get up in the morning I would have to pour water bottles on my head while it was literally below freezing in the house, then I would have to walk 4 miles to school because my dad was still too drunk to drive a lot of the time or didn't even have a car. . Once I got to school the majority of kids had a exspensive polo's, brand new cars, iPhones to look up answers for their work so something that would take me 2 hours to finish would take them 20 minutes because they had all the answers literally in the palm of their hand. I didn't even have a flip phone. Dealing with that everyday combined with the abuse from my dad and the pain of not being able to see my mom because she was in prison became too much for me. On that 4 mile walk to school it became much easier to take a detour and go to my friends house who was doing online school and just be somewhere I didn't feel less than the people around me for things out of my control. Knowing I was wasting my talent plus all of the other issues I had to deal with put me into a huge depression that I had no clue how to recover from. Like Dez said the second the sun hit you want to go back to sleep.. i had times I would wake up, realize now I have to be awake for the day and I would immediately take a couple melatonin pills to go right back to sleep. Thats how much I didn't want to be awake.. the second my eyes opened i wanted to go back to bed. To this day I'm still battling it but with each step I take towards a better life it slowly goes away. Now that I'm an adult I understand those are just material items and alot of me feeling judged was probably in my own head but at 16 it was all that mattered. Imagine a girl you adore not being allowed to date you because her parents looked up your moms criminal record. It was just a soul crushing time for me and I'm thankful I'm past it. The only positive from all of this is that it's motivated me to make sure when I have kids they never experience anything i had to gothrough. You guys speaking out for mental health is awesome, keep doing God's work..

The Mental health, PTSD, Depression, that hits after your days playing in the spotlight, has so many similarities to our service men and women once they finish their tours, or time of service. Many of our military are athletes in their own respects... Would love to listen to you guys sit down with some Veterans and discuss these topics. Love the show.
