- This 10 to 12 person dining table will feature bat-wing style legs with a tambour-look.
It's gonna be solid walnut from head to toe and will be quite a bit of work.
Because of that, I've broken this down into parts and I hope you enjoy its journey with me :-).
For the version with no talking, please check out this link:

I love that the conversation you had with your screwdriver 😁!
Bahahahaha :-P I’m glad you were able to catch that! I wondered if this format of video would be enjoyable enough for someone to catch that portion lol
I enjoyed this style of video. It's a good compliment to the rest of the videos.
Thank you! I’m glad that you enjoyed it! I often asked myself if it’d be beneficial to include a mini video of myself talking about these things or if a voiceover is better because people can pay attention better to what’s going on too. We’ll be continuing to experiment and improve over the next few months and would really appreciate your feedback along the way :-)
I really take my time sorting through lumber too. Trying to get the right pieces takes time. Good straight boards with nice grain pattern and trying not to have too much waste.... it's a balance.
Absolutely :-) It’s effort and time where, when it’s put in, makes later processes so much better and easier.
@Clara's Woodshop I've been woodworking for 8 years but started taking commissions this year.... I feel this comes back to why the pieces we make cost more than a big box store. The time for drafting a design, selecting material, as well as production. Each of these stages can and usually is a lengthy process.
Nice video and narration. Entertaining. Making great progress on the table. Mahalo for sharing! 🙂🙏
Thank you so much Garage Monkey San! Mahalo! 😁🙌
I got a Mercedes metris long wheel base model about 2 years ago now. It’s the biggest of the small vans without going to a sprinter. I put 16s on the racks all the time. Also it will fit 4x8 with the back doors closed. The short wheel base won’t do that.
That’s awesome! We’ll look into those too :-)
I thought those lumber racks looked familiar! I love Houston Hardwoods! I also need a bigger vehicle, since I can't take advantage of delivery to my house two hours away.
Ahhhh!!! Two hours??? Do you live just outside of Houston??
@@ClarasWoodshop Worse, I live _way_ outside Houston, but in a city south on 59 that doesn't have a good hardwood supplier.
Rhino is my favorite software. With your skills it would be good to see you organize your shop where you can utilize all your skills. What are some of your favorite hand tools. Also, do you think The True Track Router Sled can make a significant difference in your work?
Rhino is so awesome 🦏 I think the TTRS would be an upgrade, yes - but I don’t think it would be a solve all type of thing. My favorite hand tool… I’m not sure I have any favorites but if I have to choose I’d just say a chisel 🤣. And I also really want to clean and organize my Woodshop lol - one day, one day… 🙏
Which version do I like better, narrative or silent? I find them both interesting, enjoyable and useful from an entertainment, and even an instructional perspective. So keep them coming! And btw, you're clearly coming into your mastery of woodworking. That's fun to see this developing.
Awesome! My partner and I felt like having both would be good ways to compliment each other. We’ll keep tweaking at making things better but as noted with my other reply, the feedback is super highly appreciated and helpful :-)
For the boards with a bowed edge, why did you router them rather than use the jointer?
They are way too big and heavy to use on my little jointer 🥲
Do you get any complaints from your neighbours for all the noise that comes from all the equipment ?
Nope - I typically keep my work hours within good times. There seems to be a lot of random housework activity going on in the neighborhood too that are also noisier than me lol.
@Clara's Woodshop nice. Good neighbors are hard to come by 🥳
At 4:21 Are you wearing Blue Jean Denim Overalls? Do You ever get Stinky Or Smelly in them due to the heat? Awesome Job on this video! Your a really tomboyish and masculine girl! :)
🤣🤣🤣 nooo, I think things only gets stinky when there’s no airation but these are really breathable
which software you used to 3D model??
Hey there, I’m currently using Rhino :-)
