Yes! My emotion exactly! It’s almost on a level of philosophical calmness in the midst of chaos, I suppose? 🤔 But it does relax me, for some reason. Maybe it’s the colour choices in the middle panel. 🤷🏻♀️
Perhaps it's because many of the delights shown are no longer forbidden to us in the twenty-first century. To us what they're doing is not sinful, but joyful
@@deborahberger5816 Personally, I think the middle panel is soothing because we are weak in the flesh. We enjoy lustful pleasures. However, what God considers sin is sin. When personally get to know God, you’ll understand his commandments. The world will always try to think itself to be wise…
Wow, what an artist and painting. The details are incredible indeed. And thanks for putting the link to the image, I am going to study some more details.
Thanks, there are so many other great details in there. And many of them are hard to understand today, though it seems that they resonated quite well with the viewers back in Bosch's day.
Oh, I love this painting, I Lear about it some 15 years ago while I was looking for deep purple albums, in the cover of their first album is a small portion of the hell panel, the full thing is wacky, like cartoonish, the bird eating people, the man hugging the owl in the middle panel, someone shiting birds, I like the painting
@@AmuzeArt yea, in not sure but remember from somewhere a Jimmy hendrix experience album art that included also a portion on the hell panel, I believe is always the part with the instruments, there is a music sheet painted on the bottom of someone
@@flyingpeter Yes, there is a book with music scores and part of the scores are painting on one of the figures (left side of the Hell panel). And there have been people who have turned this into real music, giving us an idea of how Medieval music sounded like.
Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts about Bosch's Garden of Earthly Delights. I always found it amusing that this painting used musical instruments as torture devices. The bagpipes force the damned to march around in circles. Someone is crucified on a lute. The harp strings pierce through another poor soul. A man is turning the crank on a giant hurdy-gurdy while being tortured by a demon. Another is forced to carry a giant crumhorn with a flute stuck in his butt. The music leader is a demon. The music notes are tattooed or burned onto someone's butt. Someone is covering their ears from the alpine horn. I am a musician and have never sent anyone to Hell with my music. 😈
Thanks. Yes, there seems to be a lot of music in the right panel. And there is even some sheet music in there that can be deciphered, which some people have turned into real music.
And Bosch intentionally made it look creepy and strange, because this painting served as a warning to the people of his time to make the right choices in life such that they would not end up in Hell.
If you look at the hell panel you'll see a Gothic Harp, Hurdy Gurdy and a Medieval Lute, there is a man's buttocks with music notation written on it. If you look up "Hieronymus Bosch butt music" you can hear how it sounds like. It's a very beautiful eerie melody and i've been addicted to it! I personally thinks it add another dimension to the art. Like a cool little time capsule of an easter egg
I love this painting so much, especially the middle panel, it has a uncanny but soothing feeling i cant explain
It's magnificent indeed

I always do find new parts every time I watch It... Thanks for the video, would love to hear some more Bosch analysis! -Greetings from Hungary.
Thanks, same here! If you look at the high-resolution image, you can find so many intriguing and bizarre elements.
Lucky to have seen the original“garden of earthly delights” at the Douche Palace in Venice Italy.
Nice
Lucky devil!

Great! And I believe Deep Purple were not the only ones using this painting as inspiration for their album cover.

Haha, so many intriguing details indeed!
The dude ascending the ladder with the arrow in his butt is funny in the Right Panel. In the exact center of the painting lies an egg.
Haha
Great painting! Incredible details.
He must have been very bad at music with all those music instruments in hell 😆
Thanks. Yes, there seems to be a lot of music in the right panel. And there is even some sheet music in there that can be deciphered, which some people have turned into real music.
butt tune from Hell FTW!!!
That's a funny one indeed
The whole thing is debosched!
I hope you enjoyed the deBosching.
Here after that one metaphor refantazio boss
Interesting
非常に美しく、巧みに人間の喜怒哀楽、罪等描がかれていると思います。失礼ですが、少し不気味な絵画と、私個人の感想です。

"fun"
Hope so
