Oh no! I have some friends and family in Victoria, and I've got to say it doesn't sound like a particularly nice situation to be stuck in - fingers crossed it gets better soon!
I live on the Sunshine Coast qld plenty of good trails but not as good as the trails Ive ridden down your way. Was booked to come to Hobart November but that looks like it wont happen now with the borders shut.
Great content on the 2021. Hope to see you do some Derby vids on the Levo. I have a pimped up 19 Levo and shredding the beast around Melb. Hope to take it to Derby at some point ⚡️⚡️🤙🏻
James Goodsell I haven’t been to Derby yet. My friends have been a couple of times over the last 12months. We have a lot of good trails up here in Melb but Derby will definitely be on my hit list in the near future once life returns close to normal hopefully.
Nice water crossing at 14:12 You sure have your share of mucky and well built, rugged trails! I like to get out of the trees for more views, but now I shall not take it for granted here in SoCal. I like rocks too. Walk mode is useful for when ever I do hike-a-bike thru rocks. My new motor firmware has reduced the torque and rpm of walk mode significantly, but I have another issue (display doesn't stay lit, its not not in stealth mode either) that must be resolved, so I don't know if my walk mode is able to be improved when the firmware problem for my display is fixed.
Stealth mode without stealth mode seems relatively painful to know where you're st in terms of battery use! I'd love to ride SoCal, but I doubt that'll be happening any time soon!
Great videos and great riding! Thanks for posting all these vids. I'm looking at getting one of these and I'm debating between the comp and the expert. Main reason for wanting the expert is for the suspension and brakes upgrades. Dont really care about the carbon/weight loss, since it's got a motor and like you said, a little extra weight helps with stability. Seems like quite a bit more $ for the expert, where maybe I could get the comp and upgrade the suspenion and brakes for less? You ride well and seem to like the suspension. Do you feel like the the suspension is good enough/plush enough? Or if you had the choice to do it again and the $ would you get the expert?
Thanks Kenny! Glad you've been enjoying them! I've found the comp level of bike to be excellent for everything it'a tackled! To be completely honest, I had big plans to upgrade the suspension before I got the bike, but actually haven't even touched it! The brakes I've considered on and off, but if you wanted to put the extra cash in I'd consider upgrading them, but haven't needed to by far - more a desire. I'd buy the model again definitely!
I like your awkward style 😆 Would be good to see a video on why you chose the specialised system. I went with the Bosch just recently on my focus 6.7 mainly just because it was cheaper and ebikes are already expensive. Definitely worth it though
James Goodsell the motor is awesome and the eMTB mode is something I’m surprised other manufacturers haven’t implemented yet. I just watched your battery issue video and was pretty impressed. I think maybe next bike I’ll get a specialised just for the better service. I had an issue with my brake lever and the bike was in the shop for about 3 week. Also do you find the weighting on the specialised better than the commencal? Mainly for popping the front as the battery is lower down due to motor being rotated?
The service beats the warranties! I think the Levo is much better weighted than the Commencal - the Commencal is gooood, but it feels reaally hard to maneuvre - sort of like a monster truck. The Levo feels much more agile, even though it's probably just as heavy.
James Goodsell thanks for the info man, I don’t think I’ve seen anyone really compare ebike geometry/weight placement. I might have to give a turbo Levo a test ride for a day some time 😁 Keep the videos coming dude 👍
Cheers Adam! The only comparisons I've really seen are multi-bike shootouts where they basically just say they like X bike more than Y bike. Definitely demo the Levo!
Another great video, considering buying a levo 2021, what battery do you have in yours? Have you pushed the range limits yet on the mountains ⛰? Would be geat to see a range test video of All mountain riding 🤟👌🙏😁
Range can vary greatly because of the many variables: rider weight, assist mode, climbing, etc. My longest ride has been about 28 miles with about 2,100 feet of climbing. I had about 30% battery left at the end. There is a down hill flow track about 5 miles from my home. I did a 22 mile ride (10 mile round trip commute) with 3,500 feet of climbing and 9 runs down the flow trail. I returned with 20% battery. The Levo even has a mode in the Mission Control app where you can set your distance and desired battery level on return and it will manage the assist level throughout the ride so you don't run out. However, I've never used that. I have a '19 turbo levo comp carbon with the 500wH battery.
I was wondering if anyone had set the ride up in the Mission Control to monitor the battery long-term! I was planning on it, but still haven't managed to get it to track me accurately.
James Goodsell Hi mate, that one does the job for me! Foam Windshield Housing Windslayer for GoPro Hero 7/6/5 Black - Windscreen Noise Reduction Cover for Outdoor Audio Video Recording www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07M6M8MVC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_IsruFbSQA0YV1 Btw great channel! Bless 👍
Not as yet Alan - but the loan battery I have at the moment while I wait for a warranty could potentially have something to do with that! Fingers crossed.
James Goodsell yes they just extended warranties to 4 yrs on the motor but not fun to lose a month of riding while waiting on the repair. Hopefully the new one will hold up but a ton of riders have this problem and have had to replace multiple motors.
James, here is my chin camera setup: ruclips.net/video/G8bPQCqf4mk/видео.html Full face is safer and good for camera mounting. It is foolproof for camera angle setting and removable chin bar helmets ad versatility.
Thanks for the trail footage James. I've got the 2020 Levo Comp but I'm stuck at home in the Victoria lock down so this is the next best thing. 👍

A fit young guy like you don't need a ebike. Not like us middle aged hopers trying to hold on to our youth. Great video mate!
Hahaha. It's too much fun!
Just got my 21 comp. Absolutely love it
Great video, would love to see more like this on that bike. Would also be good to see some trackside shots also. 👍
Thanks for the feedback Mark - I'll get to work!
@@JamesGoodsell haha 😁👍
Great video bud it makes me want the bike even more 😂
Hahaha - One day soon!
I really enjoyed your commentary and footage, very well done !
Thank you Craig!
Awesome vid mirrors my thoughts of my 2020 levo feels planted downhill and techy uphills are fun. You guys are spoilt for great trails down there!
Cheers Dan! Yeah, I was very pleasantly surprised on the first ride how 'normal' it felt! Where are you situated trails-wise?
I live on the Sunshine Coast qld plenty of good trails but not as good as the trails Ive ridden down your way. Was booked to come to Hobart November but that looks like it wont happen now with the borders shut.
Loving your vids bro, IU just bought a 2020 Turbo Levo Expert Carbon and I love it 200 Miles so far . Massachusetts New Hampshire Border USA . ! ! !
Wooo! What's the speed limit up there?

Thanks Jason - I'm just as keen to get back up there! I used to work with World Trail and spent a few months situated there. Have you been before?

It's superb - a shame with the restrictions you can't really get here at the moment!
🏆 great work James

Cheers! I've got a 700wH - the standard in the Comp. I've pushed it to the limit once - a good video idea indeed!

Has anyone had experience in making their own wind cover (presumably out of felt) for their action camera? Let me know below!

Great video, thanks. Which is your height & bike size please ?
I'm 182cm and have a size Large

Great video! Thank you! You are riding size L right? How tall are you and whats your inseam? Preferably in cm.
Thanks! Yep, I've got a Large. I'm 183cm tall - I'll get back to you on the inseam when I find a tape measure! Hold tight!

Specialized has the 2021 available in Canada on their web site now. Still no word when my bike will be here.
