The moschops can take more then just berries for its passive tame and on a good day you can find them where they take berries for the whole tame but I’ve had instances where it needed something i didn’t have like cooked prime fish meat

Mammoth is better for wood, more weight reduction uses a different attack to collect wood and berries and the saddle is not expensive you'll just collect lil bit less wood

I think the mammoth and the beaver are very close but the beaver is easier to tame and comes with a smithy saddle too 🤷‍♂️

I would say for wood too honestly, maybe mammoth if you want the weight reduction
Also Idk if this counts but If you want hide I believe the best way is sheep, level up a bunch into health then chop it up with a chainsaw
