What a fantastic ending with fantastic character work. I foresaw Gant making an appearance and it is now twice I have seen him effectively cause a character to do some self-reflection by comparing his corrupt methods to them. Everything about this appearance characterizes him pretty accurately and shows that he still has that imposing presence even after spending a few years in prison. Kristoph admitting he loves Klavier in his own messed up way was also pretty touching…as him basically saying “I didn’t try to kill you because I care about you” can be. Angel becoming Vera’s guardian is pretty wholesome and the epilogue with her meeting her idols was precious and showed that you are willing to have Phoenix do what Capcom refused to let him do for 2 whole games. This was an excellent series and I can’t wait to see what comes next.

Surprising that after all the charges Kristoph is found guilty of, he still managed to dodge the death penalty. I guess he was saved by the very Jurist System which brought him down: since it can't technically prove with legal evidence that he committed what he is declared guilty of, it can't sentence him to death for it. At least Kristoph indirectly admitted he loves and would never harm his brother, so he is not pure evil like Dahlia. He has a whole life sentence to think back and repent for his deeds.
Awesome final. This series was a pleasure to watch.

First of all, congrats for finishing this saga. What a ride It was.
Second, my only complain: it's true that Gregory and Mia where attorneys that gave their lives while fighting for the truth, but even if Faraday was a "good" character, he's not in the same group. He was a vigilante, part of the Yatagarasu, he even spoke with Von Karma about those people who the law couldn't punish. He's no different of HoboPhoenix and Lana, using shady methods to bring down criminals.

    • @debastiansebeste
      @debastiansebeste  9 месяцев назад +17

Technically, unlike what everyone else did, Byrne Faraday did what he did purely to fight the mega corporations and untouchable organizations. The vast majority of his "vigilante" acts was him and Badd finding dirt on those corpos and making that public to strike them. While vigilantes, there's a reason Byrne was known as the "Gentleman Thief", he was far different and purely an idealist who tried to fight the corruption in as civilized a manner as possible given his enemies. And that cost him his life (Shih-Na die plz)

I can't tell you how much of a wide smile I've grown on my face by the very end of this finale.
Everything got wrapped up so neatly, the way the story shifted perfectly to jump straight into the next games of Dual Destinies and Spirt of Justice and of course the way you linked up Case 5 and the Investigations cases with this entire story.
    It was all so....beautiful.
Debastian, I know I say this a lot but, you are an amazing genius.
You truly are and you deserve to give yourself a pat on the back.
This entire story of Lana Skye's Parole from beginning to end is your best work yet if not your best work period on this channel.
Dare I say, that this was so well written, that I will personally consider this canon to AJ:AA as a sort of "Director's Cut" kinda deal.
    A headcanon if you will.
I care not for what the official canon states. This is in my mind what happened behind the scenes (cause it's not like Capcom will ever explain it themselves).
Again, bravo my good fellow. Bravo to you for such an amazing story and thank you so much for all the time and effort you put into it.
I enjoyed it from beginning to end and before I start playing Dual Destinies (since I do have the AJ trilogy on my Switch), I'll be sure to watch this from beginning to end all over again because it's that well written.

I already liked Apollo justice but I think this series really does elevate it to the level of the Wright trilogy. The extra depth you brought to everyone's characters is nothing short of amazing, I never thought Damon Gant would be a voice of reason and have it work for the series. The drama around Phoenix's continued bending of the rules was expertly done, especially the resolution that sets him apart from Gant.
The ending really nailed the style ace attorney games always have and gave a nice resolution to Lana Skye's arc, honestly it makes me really wish she appeared in dual destinies.

That was amazing. I loved every part of the Lana Sky Parole series. Although, it's sad that the Bobby we saw in the ending scenes was probably the phantom, considering what he said about being assigned to blackquill.

      @debastiansebeste  4 месяца назад +1

Oh no, Bobby died after he was assigned to Blackquill, exactly because he had been assigned to Blackquill, as the Phantom wanted the position. Not sure if it's 100% canon, but for the Lana's Parole story it certainly is ;)

And so ends this wonderful series. This was one hellova ride my friend. Your storytelling ability was excellent my friend. You were able to wrap up everyone's story in one beautiful bow. This was truly a love letter to all the die hard Phoenix Wright fans who had wished to see some of their beloved characters again.
I'm happy to see that Gant was able to reflect on his actions in prison and help Lana realize the road that she and Phoenix were going down was similar to his own. It shows that he was at one point a good man, but life happens. I'm happy he was able to impart some wisdom to Lana. She may never forgive him for what he did, but I do think she'll appreciate that, and wish him the best for the man he used to be.
Angel and Vera's story was by far my favorite in story. As we see how the two really mean to one another, especially considering their rocky start. Just comes to show that you can't judge a book by their cover. While Vera will still have some growing to do, she will have a guardian Angel to look after her, acting as a mother figure to her.
Kristoph...Boy where do I begin with you? While it is true everything he said from a certain point of view in regards to the whole thing being a huge conspiracy to bring him down, and he has every right to criticize Lana for her part in all of this. Lana was exactly right in bringing up the fact that he used her as a scapegoat, as there have been others that still rose to the challenge and do the right thing, despite being screwed over. I do love his conversation with Klavier at the end as we truly get to see the glimpse of the person Kristoph could've been if he didn't fall into corruption and stayed humble. Well done in shattering that last black psyche lock, you can see the shift in his personality. While what he did was unforgivable, I still wish him the best.
I'm not gonna lie but I definitely saw sparks between Lana and Phoenix. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if Lana found was "intellectually attracted" to Phoenix just as she once was with his mentor Mia. But this time around it honestly feels like I'm looking at two equals, rather than Phoenix being a rookie. This was definitely a nice way to keep her in the background while still acting as a supporting character.
This series was a labor of love, and you could tell with all the time that was put into this. Well done my friend. This was wonderful story telling and is definitely one of the greatest Objection.lol stories I have ever seen. Now for a well deserved rest before your next big project whatever that may be. But man is it going to be hard to top this.

God this series was so good. As someone who has tried to make decent quality Objection.lol videos, I cannot fathom the amount of time and effort that must've gone into making such a long series of such consistently high quality across visuals (Including custom assets!), writing, and story, while also tying it in super cleanly and nicely with both the canon stories of the games, and your other videos (those references were always super fun to catch).
I know many, many people have complimented the quality of the series (and with good reason!), but I felt especially inclined to compliment the amount of time and dedication that must've went into this. I wish I had even a fraction of the patience and determination that you clearly had with this series to put into my own work.
Fantastic job overall, and I hope you get some rest after all of this. I truly think this series will go down as one of the greatest pieces of Ace Attorney fan work ever made.

…WAIT THE MASON SYSTEM WAS SHOWN TO THE JURORS??? THAT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE I WAS SO CONFUSED
In all seriousness, I may be tardy to the party, but this finale was so good. We all came full circle-Lana got some closure for the events of her past and found a new goal for the future , Kristoph realized his fate (as well as hidden love, perhaps), Angel & Jake fulfilled their roles and decided to move on, Thalassa regained her memories and kept Troupe Gramarye alive, and Phoenix got his badge back. It was all so rewarding.
    Some favorite moments:
    - Seeing Gant again got a kick out of me (always love to see him) but it was a really clever way to bring the ethical dilemma that Lana was facing into the conversation.
    - Everyone testifying was a nice closing moment to the whole case (Trucy’s testimony was obviously the best).
    - THE CREDITS! Gotta appreciate the Ace Attorney nod. Weird…it’s almost like this is based on Ace Attorney!
So happy that the series was as wonderful as it was and got an ending worthy of it. I’m sure we all had an absolute blast, but I hope you’re content with it, too! As long as you’re happy with it, then it’s worth it! Now get some well-deserved rest!

I recently discovered your channel and never has a hyperfixation itch so perfectly been scratched like this series. The way all the loose ends from the series, especially those of apollo justice, get tied together in a cohesive narrative that does not mess with the original text much but still tells its own story with its own themes and plot points, it is almost perfect. I also love that this series does just enough. It has characters making understandable mistakes that it does not feel like they are all just turned into good guy mary sues, they have enough of a believable impact in the plot that the series does not do "yeah it is ace attorney and my boy dave was there too the whole time", and the character writing is some of the best I have seen ever for this series (it might even put Spirit of Justice to shame).
It is kinda ridiculous how much I like Lana Skye now. In the original case I thought she had a sympathetic motive but we did not get to see most of her so I had no real opinion of her, but putting her in the active role in this series and giving her a similar drive to trite and edgey, but still give her some unique emotional flaws, holy shit this version might be up there with edgeworth in terms of character for me.
Yeah I just wanted to blabber on about this series because I recently finished the apollo justice trilogy, and while I am happy I played it and I liked a lot about it, there is definitely an air of missed opportunities and misteps that make the trilogy feel so incomplete and dissapointing at times, which this series filled that gap for me. Hell, this series has started to start my creative engines and make me want to write fanfiction of this myself lmaooooooo
So yeah, can't sing my praises enough. Incredibly well made, both in sprites story and character writing, and I know you are busy with other amazing projects but god I want to see Lana Skye work as a private investigator now, maybe even working on other left over loose ends like Vera's kidnapping or Machi's need for a lot of money.

Hello, I've been grinding this Parole and I was amazed by all of it. You got the OG trilogy, the AJ one and the Edgey games all connected in perfect harmony. You even filled gaps like why Phoenix acts as before when he got back his badge. It's like you gave us the needed games to give some coherence to AJ and DD. As a long time fan of AA, the first AJ seemed so cold and empty even though what happened had huge implications to lots of characters, even the ones that doesn't appear.
I think your story will be the canon until Capcom decides to do something. I wish I could express myself better without sounding cringe, but your series had positive impact within me. Thank you very much :)

Your character writing has been fantastic and you freaking landed the finale like a champ. I love how this felt like it's own story within the story. This feels like it could legitimately be a side game. Lana's complicated history that mirrors the very story being told here is so freaking good! Makes sense why she became a personal investigator! I love how this story also explained and further validated phoenix's character arc through ace attorney. Phoenix Keeping secrets from Apollo, and not trusting him is well explained and is poetic! Because this exact choice causes Apollo to not trust phoenix in dual destinies!

So many things to say after such a brilliant finale.
You use Shotcut?! That's what I would always use! ❤ Before my computer broke, that is. Now if I need to edit anything, it's on my uni's computers, which have the much less intuitive Premiere... but I've managed thus far.
I like how you explained away Phoenix including Thalassa in the jury as "this will jog her memory" as opposed to simply 'a technicality for pragmatic purposes'. In the official AJ, some fans called out the irony in using the letter of the law at the expense of the spirit of the law in a bid to defend, well, spirit over letter, so I like that you reframed it as "that's not quite it".
You're clever, but I noticed the last Psyche-Lock not breaking, so I _knew_ something would be in store about that. ❤
Well played there-- Gant didn't get a cameo, but a full plot-relevant appearance! ;) I also was not expecting to see Redd White, but him being the one telling Gant about things makes quite a bit of sense.
I... was not expecting that. Were you plotting this "history repeated" point about Lana's omissions from the very beginning, or is it something you realized later?
Also, nice work there, now connecting the DL-6 channeling video to this series.
I was so sure it would be Apollo seeing Kristoph and that their convo would be what predisposed Apollo to be antagonstic in DD, but the conversation with Klavier was a _much_ better alternative. It also lets Klavier's arc in this series wrap up properly.
I like that you let Kristoph break the last Psyche-Lock on his own, thus dodging the "if black locks break the wrong way..." hazard. If the implication is what I think it is, I guess this also gives Kristoph the smallest of redeeming traits compared to none at all in canon. Which I'd expect people to find objectionable, but here it... works. ❤️
Regarding that implication, you did well in not stating it directly. As JynX said concerning Sese Kitsugai in their notes for _Reactivate Majestical Imperial:_ "There are some things that needn't be said, right?"
Here's hoping Portsman is okay, what with the others suspecting him...
That post-SoJ ending. So nice. Builds on that dialogue at the end of SoJ. I know my AA ;) (I guess this also means Valant got a light sentence since he "only" committed a frame up).

What a great conclusion to this series! It is never easy to write in additional content to an established work and it is even harder to have both new plot and existing canon sync up so beautifully.
One thing always made me interested is what was the client that Kristoph failed to defend in his first trial? Also did he like Lana set up potential future events in Ace Attorney with that incident?
If Lana Skye is going to follow in Sherlock Holmes footsteps then I hope she has an employee write about her adventures and maybe add drama to her stories.😊

Percule Hoirot is an incredible idea for TGAA 3!! Fantastic ending, your writing skills are good because you truly understand the characters. I could sense you were doing acrobatics with Thalassa's involvement, but you handled it as it should: showing how the characters would react. Lana's conversation with Gant was fantastic. So was Klavier's with Kristoph!
I would honestly love to see some sheananigans now between Phoenix, Apollo and Athena. Some slice-of-life office gags would be fantastic. Then again, I saw your plans in the chart, really looking forward for the future of this channel!!

Well, about the Thalassa part, I felt that connecting Lana's Parole with my other 3-part Thalassa's Story would be cool, and since in that story Thalassa reformed the Troupe Gramarye with Valant and Trucy, I imagined Trucy would definitely set Vera up to meet her mom given how big of a Gramarye fan she was. So yeah, that was the logic I followed , kinda bummed me down to hear it seemed like acrobatics ngl xD

After 51 years, I have finally finished watching this series lol. I didn't watch Part 5 onwards since they released. as expected, more masterpieces! how do you keep delivering quality video after quality video?! it's a 7-video series, it should realistically drop in quality as time goes, right?
Part 5: Fulbright was a nice addition to the series, his interactions with Ema and the others were funny lol. Franziska is a great addition too and it was cool seeing her interact with characters she never interacted with in the canon. the Jacques Portsman scene was genius, I see you finally, finally, give your boy a little redemption arc to make him more likeable for anything beyond his general vibe lol. The process of figuring out Lamiroir's true identity was a nice touch too! also I am amazed by the beauty of the custom renders you used (or made) like Thalassa and Magnifi!
Part 6: I like the explanation for why Phoenix didn't tell Apollo and Trucy about you-know-what. Angel's arc with the Mishams was wholesome and surprising, I don't even know how you got the idea of making Angel an auntie/mother figure for Vera lol. we did get the badass Angel and Kristoph scene out of it too which is a plus! also liked the little tension between Angel and Ema, and I swear this Ema tearing animation breaks my heart every time, it's so beautiful! now for the big selling point of the video, the Justine Courtney scene (won't overuse the Wustace Einner jokes anymore lol), this was straight up a masterclass! besides the fact that Justine interacting with AJ:AA Phoenix and Lana was enjoyable to watch, I loved the way you handled that plot point of giving Justine an excuse to act cold to make her a temporary obstacle and devil's advocate, while also not breaking her out of character after her AAI2 development. the Angel-Kristoph scene was badass as I said, I also loved that Blackquill cameo lol. and the video ends on the Klavier-Lana scene which was very interesting, I am glad you gave Klavier some kind of story arc which the entirety of AJ:AA failed to do, you gave him some conflict on how to handle this case and fighting to realize the harsh truth that his brother is a cold-blooded murderer and serial criminal who used him for his own schemes, show his conflict was really important and that made me appreciate Klavier as a character in general more. this could very well be the best part of this series, although not by a wide margin since all videos are consistently good!
Part 7: Finally the last part, it tied everything nicely together with a bow, I like your take on the 4-4 Trial at the start. the Vera hospital scene was wholesome from start to finish between Fulbright going full protecc, her warming up fully to Angel at last, and Phoenix throwing her involvement in his disbarrment behind his back, glad to see my girl being happy, finally! out of all the Ace Attorney characters, Vera is one of these that just deserves some happiness in her life and must be protected at all costs. also liked your take on the Kristoph trial. the Lana-Gant scene was pretty sad but also added a lot of depth to things, and I love how it tied into Lana's eventual resignation later. (also nice Redd White cameo, and Godot's one frame appearance was hilarious lol). sad to see Angel and Jake leaving the force, but they were real homies throughout this series, Jake is a gigachad for intentionally taking the fall, it's so in character with him lol. the Kristoph and Klavier scene probably stole the spotlight of this episode for me, I can't believe how little they actually interacted in the games, the intearction felt on point here, and while I don't think Kristoph has an ounce of humanity left in him, I don't think you necessarily broke his character either by that little moment of humanization, it does make sense yeah. also glad Lana hit him with the harsh truth, it felt like she was flaming herself too much, glad she got a hold of herself in the end! lastly the Phoenix-Lana scene, that was just cute, this made me much happier for Phoenix getting his badge back then when he did in DD out of nowhere lol. seeing Lana smile will never not melt my heart, she has the most beautiful smile animation of the whole series probably lol. while she got a sad ending having to dirty her hands again, I am glad she at least got some sweetness amongst all that bitterness in the end with her putting it all behind her and starting a new chapter in her life! the cedrits were fun but I won't talk about every individual point or this comment will be a whole essay lol. also wanna talk about the choice of music, that was pure genius man, you chose a fun combination of music from all over the franchise and I think some even from outside the franchise? I don't know, there are some I didn't recognize. they still fit though and made great scenes even better!
and lastly, give me that sequel! you teased Lana helping Phoenix, and you teased a Dance of Deduction with Lana, and now I won't shut up until I get either of them! more Lana! I will never get tired of more Lana! jokes aside, yeah you probably need a break from Lana Skye after this long series, but I wouldn't be mad to see her getting more videos with how well you wrote this series! once again, bravo, give yourself a pat on the back, you deserve it!

A couple songs I used outside the franchise were the Final Battle and Scorpion Casino from Prof. Layton (for Portsman's scenes), as well as A Downfall from Persona 4 (for Kristoph's sad scenes)
As for Lana, well, right now I'm not planning to have her appear again soon because I'd then have to tie her to the overarching plot of Dual Destinies and it could come out as forced :p As for the dance of deduction, I threw it out there with the hope that someday someone will grace us with a fanmade 3d model for Lana and I do dream of having Herlock deduce the truth behind Rise from the Ashes xDD
Glad you enjoyed the series mate, and thank you for your kind words :D

Oh wow this series was absolutely incredible, all the character moments, creating the behind the scenes action for Apollo justice (those scenes with Klavier trying to confront what Kristoph did and the whole story with Thalassa were so good) and tying in the other games too...rise from the ashes is my favourite case and this series does the characters so much justice. I adored the scenes with Angel and Vera, and the conversation between Lana and Gant was so good!! I love how many characters you brought in from other games like Justine and Badd and the roles they played in setting it all up, and I loved Bobby and Ema's interactions (the fact he stood guard over Vera as well was so sweet). And of course Portsman playing an important role was so good. And Vera got to meet troupe gramarye!!! Thank you so much for making this series, it's truly awesome

Just finished watching these. Excellent work, obviously.
I just wanted to say that I loved the intro to this one saying "Spoilers for Ace Attorney 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and Investigations 1 and 2" because at that point it feels like you were just frustrated you couldn't find a Spirit of Justice angle to stick in.

Well to be honest the only reason there are no spoilers for SoJ is because no SoJ character appears in it so luckily I managed to evade spoilers for AA6 xd (plus it's much easier than saying "Spoilers for Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Justice for All, Trials & Tribulations, Apollo Justice and Dual Destinies xd)

BRAVO!! I only recently stumbled across your channel and was really amazed with every video, every character feels like their canonical self, as well as the entire game's events are now connected. However I never played Apollo Justice. Seeing Lana Skye's Parole series I decided to quickly play it (a great game btw since I only played the OG trilogy), and then watch your series. And oh my god they are PERFECT. I cannot stress out how amazingly well they are made. Seeing Lana as Phoenix's friend, Angel as Vera's demon auntie (awwww)... I will definitely rewatch these series many times and consider them canon. Awesome, absolutely awesome!

This has been one of the most ambitious and well executed solo-projects I've seen in a while. The amount of effort not just in the writing and plot, but also all the smaller details and sprites is inspiring. It's been a pleasure watching this project unfold in the span of a year.
But as usual, a friendly reminder that despite all of the justified pride that comes with the praise, always remember enjoy the process of creation. Great work!
