This has to be the most complex and (in every sense) difficult of his 3 concertos. I also finds its poignant end uniquely moving and arresting.

I love all three of the concertos. In terms of structure, this one is the most impressive. The textures in Medtner's music are amazing too. Watching someone play it on video shows how well it fits under the hands too.

Such a rare thing to hear a Medtner concerto! - In the UK, I don't think anyone plays them! His solo piano works are, I think, gradually being performed and recorded more often. Pianophiles will know how even Horowitz struggled to get Medtner performed in the west.

But Medtner died in Britain and had there several excellent pupils - e.g. , Edna Iles.
