Ok guys, I know the steering wheel looks upside down but that's the only way it mounts due to hole in wheel that the power wire has to go through. I'm assuming the column must have been disconnected from the power steering box and put back on 180 degrees out. I'll check it out later.

I'm pretty sure you have the wheel upside-down. The center bar should face down. The opening in the wheel is to allow you to see the speedometer.

I think it must have been disconnected from the power steering box at one time and put back in 180 degrees out.

Hi, I'm a new subscriber after seeing the dash restoration. I'm working with a '71 Nova of my own.

As a nonsmoker , I enjoy (I really do!) how often during filming you have a ciggie in your hand. Seeing an ashtray- well that takes me back to my childhood. Be You King!

    Wheel is upside down.
Brings back memories of when we used to switch out steering wheels. Every auto store had a selection of wheels. Air bags killed that industry off! Add in all the phone, radio and cruise control buttons and we won’t ever see custom steering wheels again.🥺
Can’t wait for your latest build to be revealed!

I just got myself a 72 nova and will making some of these same modifications. One modification I noticed you made was installing an aftermarket stereo into the factory dash location. Is there a video on this anywhere I can see or if there is any insight as to what all is involved in that I would greatly appreciate it!
    Thanks!

the steering wheel is upside down likely cause the colum was installed wrong. disconnect the colum from the steering shaft and give it half a turn. the horn wire part should come through at the top not bottom. being half turn out might make the self cancel signal not work right at well.

Summit racing has the mounting kit for sale separately from the wheel

Almost ready certain it's upside down.. the big gap in the steering wheel is on the top so you can see the speedo. I don't mean to correct anyone if I'm wrong.

Built not bought at one time years ago it was cheaper to buy a car in a box in pieces. Or a car that needed to be restored not anymore. Cheaper, faster and better to buy turn key and change if needed.

Not cheaper if you can build it yourself. I rebuild cars worth about $20k for under $5k. Buying a car built by somebody else usually results in inheriting their problems and a feeling of getting ripped off.

The reason the other horn wasn’t working is a ground issue.. I had the same wheel and horn on my nova.. I had to scrape the paint to get a good ground on it…

Looks like Grant has even modernized wheel options to match/exceed later technologies. Saw some quick disconnect units.

I watch your videos all the time. I know you say you don't have much $ but I would strongly suggest you get another camera that you can mount somewhere when you it shows you working, It would be so more better for us viewers to watch and certainly be a lot easier than working with one hand and holding a camera in the another. Please don't take this as an insult as I really think you do some really nice work. I also think you'd get more followers which will ultimately get you more $ from RUclips. Also the wheel is mounted upside down.

I think the column is mounted 180 out on the steering box.
