I lived in Evergreen and Boulder when I was 'stationed' at the Air Force Accounting and Finance Center in Denver. I used to go up to Rocky Mountain National Park a LOT. Not only a beautiful singer. Also , a soulful, kind, talented woman whose voice hit your heart just in the center, in all her songs.
Such a special song, sung so beautifully. This song was written for the 1955 film "Unchained" about a guy in prison who is hoping his love still loves him and will wait for him to get out. "Time goes so slowly"......It is a very heart-rending song if you know the context. Listen to it again now that you know. It was nominated for an Academy Award that year but lost to "Love is a Many Splendored Thing".
That voice, that smile , her beauty, she is so amazing ! I didn’t think she could outdo Hallelujah but this might be my new favorite, she is so mesmerizing!

Yeah! Lets see someone else try that, Lucy did such a great sensational job with Unchained Melody, Bobby Hatfield did it in 1965 and that was the Gold standard, until Lucy. It will be many decades before anyone try's to top Lucy, the new Gold standard.
