Cant wait to install my VRSF 7.5 Intercooler! THANK YOU MAN! YOU FUCKING KILL IT WITH STEP BY STEP! Makes it 100x easier to follow alongside! KEEP BRINGING THAT BMW CONTENT!!
Good job, Another great video. Just installed my VRSF upgraded intercooler. I wanted to go with ARM but I figured I would stick with the VRSF brand to compliment all my other VRSF parts.
You got mine installed but the inter cooler is sticking out the bumper. Was it installed wrong ? The bottom cover doesn’t fit the bumper to put the screws on.
Did the silicone hoses fit securely on the ARM intercooler outlet? I notice the outlets have grooves for the oem clips and are totally flat all around for a better seal...
Our Stock intercoolers are ok, but are not the best. They are small and intake air temperatures in summer time are high. The higher the temperature the less efficient the engine is and the more power is lost. To high of temperature can cause damage by having pre-ignition / misfires. Im not saying that the oem / stock intercooler is bad, but must definitely can be better. Your power gain will come from cooler temperatures with this type of intercooler. Im not sure how much power gain you will have from installing this alone with no tune. You will definitely have more gains with a tune. A tune will allow for higher boost, which turbos start heating up faster, which will need a better cooling system, such as this DIY. Hope that helps you to understand a little better.
Awesome Work ! i The fitment on hose upgrade is crazy tight , was able to follow your instructions to install , is yours still holding up ? it hasnt compromised any near by hoses its touching ? mine is rubbibg up against the hose thats connected under upper radiator hose.
Thank you bro. 👍 Yes fitment was crazy, I though there was no way for that hose to fit in the beginning. The hose is perfect, no issues. Just gotta make sure to tight that nicely on both ends. My main concern was the clearance with the serpentine belt, which there was no issue on the clearance on that part. I remember it was touching one of the hoses, but everything is so tight in there i don't think its an issue. I'll take a look tomorrow and give you an update to see where is it exactly touching.
The bolts go in the same place as your oems. To screw the bolts use the nut that holds the intercooler with a deep socket or with a racketing racket to tighten the bolt itself, then unscrew the nut (the bolt will stay in) and install the intercooler. look at min 16:50 on the video. ( I meant nut not washer)
Not completely. The upgraded outlets come from both turbos and then it connects to the bottom right (passenger side). This upgraded hoses are for a better connection from the oem outlets and ni restrictions from the intake side.
I know e60's and e61' have different variations on engines but if your car has the N54 then yes, the install will be relatively the same. As far as fitment itself, it is best for you to contact Arm Motorsports and see if this same Intercooler will fit your e61.
how has the product been treating you? mine will be installed on the wagon tomorrow! i have been concerned because reviews are up and down and nobody has reviewed the 535s however its the same engine!also all negative reviews are a couple years old so maybe it was a fixed issue!
It's actually good. I'm pretty happy with it. And I know exactly what you mean. When I was on the market purchase an Intercooler. I was hesitant because of this bottle neck thing, so I called them and I was told that they didn't know anything about it 🤔. I asked and asked. And at the end I decided to give it a try. Once I received it, My worries went away. As far as cooling. It keeps nearly the same temps when doing a full throttle pull. I still need to test it once I tune my car. Just remember intercoolers work when having flow of air through them. I can see how the intake air temperature raises when the car is at a stand still, it truly heat soaks; but nothing that can be done here no matter which intercooler you have. The cool thing is when the car starts moving, I can see the temps drop immediately. And the faster I go, the lower the intake air temps will get. You'll see this once monitoring the temps. None the less, it's a great choice 👍
Yea it’s expected I’m in the army and away from home my buddy has worked for bmw for 20 years and he is doing the installs while I’m away he says it looks like a great product so I’m excited will be FBO with MHD when I get back ready to see the difference
No, this is bigger and delivers more cooling power compared to the 5inch step. This one measures about 20 x 7 x 5.75 inches for a total of 804 cubic inches, which is almost twice as much as the oem. If you go down to minute 7:41 on the video, I show a comparison in size. If you are looking for a detail video on the install of the step intercooler, the installation is pretty much the same minus the cutting of the plastic or removal of the intercooler hoses.
Detailed vid! Always good to see people wrenching on there own cars!!
Thanks man. The most rewarding part is when your done and see your job 😁

Excellent video ! Very explanatory and easy to follow !
Thank you man, I'm glad you guys like it 👍
Great video! you are a excellent mechanic. getting ready to do my 7" so very helpful
Thanks brother 🙏
Hope everything goes smooth.
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.
Got one and will install this weekend. I’m excited for the direct bolt on. I’ll do upgrades inlets in the future.
Nice 👍

Thanks man. Most def. you cant go wrong with either one. So far I'm pretty happy with ARM products. But then again VRSF is a hell of a choice too.
Another good one! Looking at the same one myself!
Thanks man 👍, so far I'm very happy, temps are a big difference over stock.
Love the DIYs bro. Keep it up
Thank you bro 🙏. Appreciate the love 💯
Can you show me how you clamped the hot side the part on the intercooler?
What kind of clamp?
Eres el mejor sigue adelante 💪. Felicidades 👏. Desde Bogota Colombia
Gracias por tu apoyo. 👍
I just finished installing mine. Clearance was really tight on the driver side with the upgraded hose. The transmission cooler makes it difficult
"Next puu juu e brake oon" 🤣🤣🤣 that had me dying at 1:10 lmao
Safety first 🤣
You got mine installed but the inter cooler is sticking out the bumper. Was it installed wrong ? The bottom cover doesn’t fit the bumper to put the screws on.
Thanks man ! Super helpful
Glad I can help bro 👍
Where u get hanger screw and? Size r those

I’m wondering this awell
Great job, now my turn
Thank you brother,
Good luck on your project.
How much horsepower is that one good for looks like you do less trimming than the vrsf 7.5 intercooler
will my 535i E60 gain horsepower with this alone or is this designed to be put in in only if im tuning past stock?

In the process of doing this same intercooler upgrade ARM, where do I put my mounting bolts at? And how do you mount them? Thanks

The hoses are the outlets, correct?
Not completely. The upgraded outlets come from both turbos and then it connects to the bottom right (passenger side). This upgraded hoses are for a better connection from the oem outlets and ni restrictions from the intake side.
Is this same as e61 bmws?
