    Al i love your dedication to sharing the history of uechi ryu . It is amazing sharing a connection with people through training even if you never trained together due to being alive during a different time period. Karate is timeless and forever necessary 😊

      Hi Eric! Yes, it's good to keep the history and tradition alive. And to honor those who came before us and created these wonderful arts. Wishing you a very Happy Holiday Season! 😊

    Al, thank you for compiling the visual, historical, philosophical and technical attributes of Uechi Ryu. I have see or read many of the content you have compiled separately. Your compilation work here and clear narration is an appreciated source for those familiar and unfamiliar with our style. All the best in Budo. Dan

    Thank you for sharing this treasure.
    My protege who teaches Judo, Japanese Jujutsu, Machado BJJ and Kalis Illustrisimo is now taking up Uechi Ryu Kara Te.
    It's my belief that Uechi Ryu compliments a Judoka's grappling skills very well, creating an extremely well rounded, unarmed, defense repertoire.

    Very 'fluid' compared to all other Okinawan Karate styles and shows its closer connection to its Kung Fu roots

    • @thelastgeneration1926
      @thelastgeneration1926 Год назад +1

      It's not a kung fu root. It's just a style that was original to China

    • @ericmiller9688
      @ericmiller9688 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@thelastgeneration1926technically it is kungfu because all arts of mastery In China are called kungfu . This isn't limited to martial arts kungfu can refer to all arts music, photography, cooking, baking, sculpting, drawing . I didn't know the term kungfu has such a broad application until I looked it up. It's very cool. So isn't the fact that gung fu as a term gets used also. Region of origin having to do with this spelling difference

    This just makes what I learned that much more complicated to practice. Ffs ? They used to guard these videos only certain people were allowed to watch them when I was growing up. Now that I see them, the movement are much more complicated than what I learned
