Most of the Lonely Island videos were aired on Saturday Night Live as digital shorts. They regularly recorded songs with the musical guests for the weekly episodes. Definitely recommend their collaborations with Justin Timberlake (D*ck in a Box, MotherLover, and 3-Way); Akon (I Just Had Sex); Rihanna (Shy Ronnie and Shy Ronnie 2: Ronnie and Clyde). I also love Reba (Two Worlds Collide), but recommend watching that after the other collabs.

These 3 were writers at SNL making digital shorts. Andy Samburg (Brooklyn Nine Nine) was also a cast regular. Jorma Taccone came up with the idea for the MacGruber, and went on to direct the movie.
The lyrics were originally much raunchier. They had to tone them down to convince Michael Bolton to do it lol
