With my limited knowledge and understanding of makeup and traditional styling they are using, it gives me the impression that if one mistake is made her whole face will have to be cleaned and start anew. Respect for the makeup artist doing her flawless job!
I love this video! seeing this 'behind the scenes' and the people that help the geisha and maiko into their traditional costumes is really important. from what i understand not just anyone can do maiko/geisha makeup (I could be wrong). Same with fitting Kimono, styling hair, etc. I love learning about ALL PARTS of the experience and the behind the scenes is one of my favorites. thank you for sharing this with us.
